Hello! My Name Is...

My absolute favorite Cozy Mystery series right now is Susan M. Boyer's Liz Talbot Mystery series!
I haven't been getting notifications, so I'm behind here.
Welcome Agnieszka. I love your giraffe!
Hi Rose. I love audiobooks and am always looking for good narrators.
Hey Donald. Glad you found us.
Hi Bridgette. Glad you came here to say hi. You should find it easy to add new cozies to your tbr :)

Welcome Donald. We have a folder for Authors and Bloggers. Scroll down the main page to find it. You can tell us more about your blog there.
Welcome Bridgette. We're glad you decided to introduce yourself. I'm also a fan of the Liz Talbot series, it was a featured read last November.

I've also got a mystery novel written, and I'm hoping to get it published in the near future.
Welcome Christopher. This group is full of recommendations. Cozy mysteries are often described as styled after Agatha Christie. The major mystery awards in this genre are called Agatha Awards. In one of our discussion topics, members name their favorite mystery series. That's a good place to start for recommendations.
Hi Christopher. Although I don't go back as far as you, I really love the older cozies without all the frills. Although there are still quite a few without them, and there are lots of new series that I enjoy even with all the fashion talk :)
You might want to check out the thread for British cozies.

Welcome Joanne. I'm not as familiar with the knitting ones, but is the pet one the Dixie Hemingway series by Blaize Clement which starts with
? I love Mrs. Polifax! That series is a great cozy series. I hope you have good luck finding affordable cozies - maybe the second hand bookshops will have more.
Tom Baker is one of my favorite Doctors. I tried knitting the scarf years ago, but never finished it.

Welcome to the group Joanne. I can think of two knitting shop series:
Maggie Sefton has a knitting mystery series. The main character owns a knitting shop in Colorado. You may be thinking of Knit One, Kill Two.
Sally Goldenbaum has a series set in a New England shore town - Massachusetts? The first one in that series is Death by Cashmere.

Looking forward to joining in discussions! I have to admit I mostly read those set in the 1920s but I've read modern ones too and enjoyed them.
If you haven't seen it, there's a nice 1920s series just started with Parker Posie https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2... (the first book used to be included free on Kindle for Prime but haven't checked recently)
Welcome Faith! I've been trying different teas/herbal teas in the last year. Right now my favorite is a rooibos chai, with a minty herbal blend close behind. What types do you drink?

Thank you! What a nice group!
I'm fond of Earl Grey and Assam with milk in the mornings. Afternoon is jasmine, citrus or other herbals :) I've had some nice rooibos chai too!
Welcome to the group Faith.
I'm a Daisy Dalrymple fan. She's a reporter in 1920s England with an uncanny knack for discovering dead bodies. The mysteries are light and easy-to-read. Some of the later entries include the perspective of a police detective, Alec Fletcher, which gives the books a touch of police procedural.

I don't think I've tried Assam - I'll have to look for it. I have some jasmine white tea that I keep forgetting about :) In another group we designed two teas for out readathons through designatea.com. It was fun deciding what blends we wanted.

Nell - great to meet you all virtually :) I should try the Dalrymple series, sounds like fun. I like that genre for sure!

I'm an author -- I write as Josh Lanyon and Diana Killian (DON'T WORRY, I WILL NOT SPAM YOU) and a long time mystery fanatic.
As Diana Killian I write the Mantra for Murder mysteries and the Poetic Death mysteries. Well, I used to. Now days I primarily write as Josh Lanyon.
I'm married to Kevin Burton Smith of the Thrilling Detective Website, I perform with the Browne Sisters and George Cavanaugh (Celtic music) and I'm currently working on (among other things) a non-fiction book for McFarland Press on husband and wife sleuths in detective fiction.
I lurk a lot. ;-D
Welcome out of lurkdom - even it's only for a brief visit. I didn't realize that Diana Killian was a pen name. There's even a picture on her author page.
btw - When you scroll down the main discussion page, there's a folder for authors where you can talk about your books or let us know when a new release is coming out.

Welcome Brandi! The good thing about cozies is that they come in all themes so you're sure to find ones you love. Congrats on finishing your masters!

Well, after all, having a pen name doesn't mean I'm not a real person! That is a real (though out-of-date) photo.
What I need is one of those very dignified Mary Stewart style author pics. The black dress. The pearls. The look of wisdom. And financial security. ;-)

Oh my! Congratulations.

Thank you, Beth!

Thank you, Nell. I hope I set that up correctly!

Looking forward to interacting with the group!
Welcome to the group Marilyn. You've named some good cozy mysteries in your post. You'll discover a lot more on this site.

Thanks Josh. I'm rather happy to be done with school.

Hi Nell. That's is what I'm very happy about. Plus the opportunity to have a career and not just a job.

Thank you Jaxnsmom. I'm glad to be done with school and reading for fun.

So, now I'm all excited! I ordered a Kindle from Amazon this weekend, I updated my information on Goodreads, my amazon wishlist is bursting, and I'm ready to get cozy. lol
A little about me: I'm 56 years old, I live with my cat Nigel, I have two boys (grown and married), and I have two little granddaughters.
It's nice to meet you all.

I hope you enjoy your new discoveries! My favourite part is trying to figure out how all the clues fit together in the end, before the detective actually puts them together and fingers whodunnit.
Welcome Pam. I'm a knitter too. There are several series with knitting themes. Maggie Sefton writes a knitting mystery series set in Colorado. Her books often include a pattern at the end.

I remember when finding a book, unless it was a best seller, was a treasure hunt. Now with the internet, they're all at our fingertips. Although I do still enjoy going through book stores, especially old ones, but at least we can find what we're looking for now.

Thanks Nell! This series looks good. I just put #1 in my Amazon list so I remember to check it out. I feel like a kid in a candy store. lol

I don't think I've ever spent this much time on Amazon. lol

Happy Reading,
Marilyn

Thanks Marilyn! Those are the first ones I've been grabbing, the craft ones ... and I found a tea shop series, which I love tea, so I'm thinking I'll enjoy those.

Welcome out of lurkdom, Jovita. We're glad to hear from you.

Hi Jovita. Welcome into the light. I didn't get a chance to watch, but it looked there was an updated version of "And Then There Were None" on tv recently.

Maybe they'll keep showing it until you make it all the way through. I'll have to keep an eye out and try to record it.

Welcome back Kim. I live in CT just a little further east. There are lots of cozies that feature cats.
