It's not. That would imply that we were storing old books, and with some exceptions (ebooks of old works that have been uploaded), that's not accurate.

But you are storing/cataloging old books. The Art of War for an example.
And new ones. Archive implies exclusively/especially old ones, which isn't true. GR is for all books, old and new.

Oh. Never heard of that implication. When I think of archive, I usually think of electronic ones and they always include new and upcoming things. Guess the word is used differently in my environment.

It is a short story found in in these two anthologies: Magic Graves and Death's Excellent Vacation. That short story has never ever been released as a standalone book of any sort, not even published online as a free fiction.

Please delete this book. It's being republished with a different cover/isbn and as part of a larger work.... this edition doesn't technically exist. Thanks so much!

To quote Rivka earlier in this thread:
"We don't remove books that have been published/released and then go out of print (or which become unavailable). "

Uh, still a no. Goodreads doesn't delete books regardless of their publishing or printing status, length is also unimportant.

Someone put an ISBN13 of another edition as the placeholder's ISBN10.

You and me both! Thanks for working on that. :)

I think the reason some Goodreads users are confused is because Goodreads doesn't straight out say it's an archive. Had my few shares of authors or ignorant Librarians deleting books when they should not be doing so. Worse, some are confused to why we still adding old out-of-print editions of the classic... seeing it as a useless endeavor. =(
