Hi! I'm Alissa, and I suffer from permanent, debilitating writer's block. I've never managed to write anything fictional that is more than a few pages long because I never have any idea where my stories are going and I haven't yet been able to figure it out. So I'm an editor/proofreader, because I'm awesome at helping other people make their writing better but terrible at figuring out what story I could possibly tell myself. :)

I meant what I said and I randomnised what I said. That's debatable, but if it was fire rain falling, the world would be abundant with fires. But fire acts like acid, in a way: it can erode grass and nature. XD

Thanks for the welcomes! I think I'm just not ready to write yet, honestly. I don't have a story to tell. Although, I am considering giving NaNoWriMo another try this year. But I love editing and proofreading, and it doesn't cause me the kind of stress that trying to write something myself does. Reading other people's stories and helping to make them better is the most fun and rewarding career I can think of. Which is why I quit my job a few months ago to start my own editing business (http://redpenforrent.com). :)

Your quit your old job to start an editing business? Cool! :D if what you say about yourself you believe, then I have every confidence you will be the best editing business around! As for actually writing the book, that is hard, I agree. It's not as simple as snapping your fingers and the words appearing on the page straight afterwards, unfortunately! ^_^ I prefer editing aswell. Much easier.

I did! It's slow going, but considering that it's only been three months I think I'm doing pretty well so far. I've just reached the point where I had to get a seasonal part-time job to keep a roof over my head, but my business is continuing to slowly grow so I'm hoping that things will really take off in the next few months and that after the holidays I'll be supporting myself well enough not to need the outside work.

Newbie here, in all sense of the word. Just joined GR. Just joined some groups. Never finished a novel but I have started more than a few-hence the reason I'm here. Finding myself with time on my hands while I recover from neck surgery (it puts a SERIOUS kink in horse riding, dirt biking, off roading plans) so I'm figuring I should put my evil powers to good use and finally write.

I'm an avid reader, have been all my life, and frequently use books to escape-mini mental vacations if you will. I enjoy most genre, with a special fondness for fantasy, sci-fi, mythology.

I'm looking forward to "meeting" all of you, learning what you have to share, and teaching what I know.
