Feed (Newsflesh, #1) by Mira Grant by Mira Grant Mira Grant
Genre: Fiction
Finish Date: 1st November
Rating: B+

What a refreshing great read in the Zombie genre. This is not a doom and gloom end of the world survival tale. Instead it takes the views that hey there are Zombies and yeah they are a pain, but they are here so kick along with it. A great zombie political thriller with some truly jaw opening twist. I hunger for the next book in this trilogy.

Michael Flanagan (loboz) 70 That Bear Ate My Pants! by Tony James Slater by Tony James Slater Tony James Slater

I am so glad I read this book and if you read it you will feel the same. The author tells the tale of his life as a volunteer in an Ecuador animal rescue sanctuary and it is a blast. Mix blood, crap, a teenage bear, a fat toothless puma, plenty of rum and a country with no OH&S laws and you have the recipe for riotous fun that leaves people giving you a wide berth on the bus as you wet your pants laughing. I would take me hat of to the author but I am afraid what the jaguar might do to it.

Michael Flanagan (loboz) 72. Strike Eagle Flying The F 15 E In The Gulf War by William L. Smallwood byWilliam L. Smallwood
Genre: Military non-fiction
Finish Date: 21st November
Rating: B-

Review

A good solid read on the air war during the first gulf war seen through the eyes of F-15 E. While this book was a very entertaining read and gave me a whole new perspective on what the pilots endured the book did not slam me back into my chair with full afterburners on. It is a good book and well worth reading and I would recommend it to anyone with a passing interest in this genre of book.

Black turban wearing zombies screaming Jihad at the top of their lungs. If that does not get your attention did I mention that they are not your normal run of the mill dumb zombies these biters are smart and can fire guns and even an RPG or two.

This book takes on a thrill ride that does not let up until the last sentence so take a deep breath and hop on.

Michael Flanagan (loboz) Peter the book paints a very bleak picture of fear and corruption one can only hope there is a change for the better.

Thank you Alisa Goodreads is totally responsible for my book addiction :)

This book builds up like a wave with a nice gentle swell and ends up smashing with fury upon the rock strewn shore. The author delivers all you expect in a book of this genre with a lot more added for good measure. I was drawn into the story and had to know what was going happen next so much that I read this book in two sittings. Overall a cracker of a tale and one that I recommend to all.

Michael Flanagan (loboz) 76. Tweak Growing Up On Methamphetamines by Nic Sheff by Nic Sheff Nic Sheff
Genre: Non-Fiction
Finish Date: 7th December

Want to know what it is like being addicted to meth then give this book a try. But be warned this is a warts and all account, that is at times damn hard to read. The author takes you on a roller coaster ride your heart breaks when he turns back to the cycle of using. How this guy is alive has me mystified not only does he subject himself to meth he mixes it with heroin, speed and a fistful of prescription drug. It is a trip into someone's soul and man is it a mess. But there is an uplifting part to this story as he builds himself back into a functioning human and identifies his underlying issues and faces them. One hell of a book read it if your dare.

Michael Flanagan (loboz) 78 Nothing to Envy Ordinary Lives in North Korea by Barbara Demick by Barbara Demick Barbara Demick
Genre: History, Human Interest
Finishing Date 23rd December
Rating: A

Review

An unforgettable read lifting the curtain on the day to day lives of North Koreans. The author has done a great job in letting the people themselves tell the story, as well as giving us the reader the relevant background. So what is it like to live in a Communist country that is cut off from the rest of the world? Give this book a read and you will see, it is nothing to envy.
