Yup, exactly Wendy! I think they appeal to us because Price wrote each of them so painstakenly. I bet she has a stack of character notes on them and knows their entire lives. (view spoiler)
Not Thaw. STriking Sparks and Many Happy Returns were the straight erotica's (view spoiler). THaw is the one where Jacob and Vic go ice skating.
That's how I think it will play out too. I asked Jordan Castillo Price at a Q&A if she'd ever do a (view spoiler). I was kinda bummed because I'd like to see him, I don't know, meet someone.
If you could see my house right now, you girls would laugh so hard. I have like 3 baskets of clean laundry in the laundry room, 3 toilets that should be cleaned, playroom that's a disaster and my pantry looks like a war zone... off to read! Hahaha! 3 against 1 - the odds are against me.Regina, that was a sexy scene... (view spoiler) David Bowie is just not attractive to me and the opposite

Oh yes, I remember, now, that you said that. It is too bad. A story about Crash's interactions even with a good female friend would be funny -- and his attempting to resolve the issue with (view spoiler). I see potential there. But she has to go with her inspiration.
LMAO Leea, that picture is perfect but oh so scary. He is NOT my type at all. Remember in How to Kill a Rock Star where Eliza says that a skinny guitar player is her kryptonite? Nope, not mine. ;)And you are right about Vic. He was so considerate. That reminds me of this excerpt from the book (you can read it if you are 1/2 way through Among the Living) (view spoiler)
I WISH I had 3 toilets to clean. After our construction is done! We so need 3 toilets.
Yeah the rock star look, like David Bowie is not my thing at all. I need my man with a little meat on his bones :) Jacob is more my type.Regina, how the construction going? When will it be done. With 4 kids, I bet you need more space than me and I feel like we are cramped in here. I told Jim, next house we need a ladies wing - he just laughed.
I need to get off GR and read...
Not attracted to David Bowie at all! LMAO. But I think it was showing that Vic is attracted to guys who look like rock stars.Regina, have they talked at all in the books you read about what Vic looked like when he was at Camp Hell, back in the past? He was totally Goth Punk, lol. It's no surprised that he thinks his ideal is someone like David Bowie.
I gotta go work out and clean. It is an ardurous process. We are adding a bedroom for our son, a bathroom on the first floor, knocking down walls on our first floor b/c we have an old old house ( built in late 1800s). So it has one bathroom on the 2nd floor and a 3/4 bath in the basement (which is my husband's wing, lol -- not like you wish the lady's wing to be like). And it is crazy, we bought at the height of the market so we paid a crazy amount for almost nothing. But we love it, we just need to re-arrange. At least it makes our family closer -- the discussions about who uses the bathroom first are hilarious.
Wendy, once again you are right. Price is so good about foreshadowing and layering the characters so their later actions make sense. I can't wait to find that stuff out, I haven't learned that yet but it makes sense.
I know you will be excited when it's finally all done. My boys share a room and they love it! That leaves us with my office and a spare room for family/friends that come stay. Tell me about buying a home at the height of the market - I'm there with you.
My two little girls share a room and love it too, but Sebastian needs to move out! He is 8 and is getting too old to share with them. :-)Guest rooms are so nice to have.
I had to take a break from TBH, it's already made me break down and cry. Yeah, I know!I read
, it was only 6 pages and so sweet. Honestly, if Jacob gets any hotter is really will be a crime. Vic is starting to come out of his shell and let Jacob hold his hand, how cute.I've going to also start,
it also looks very short, 12 pages.
It was so cute. Did you read the interview except on page one of this thread? It's a great moment in an interview with Jacob.
Yes, I did read it. I was trying to avoid spoilers that I couldn't read but I thought that was safe. Jacob is head over heels for Vic. it's a beautiful thing.
YAY!!!! I'm so glad you liked it! Are you going to keep reading the series?I loved the end, with Marcs. It's so cute.
I might, but I'm not really into cop/mystery books all that much, so I might space them out a little bit.
It's good to space them out. They do get better and better.I'm not so into mystery/cop books either. It's pretty much these and the In Death books.
I was so going to start In Death, but I know myself. I can't seem to finish long series, even when I try spacing them out. I don't think I've read any series over 10 books long yet. The couple I have read, I've stalled out around book 8 or so.Does Vic ever end up working with the fired partner again? I don't care if you spoiler.
In Death's are fun because they are consistant. They never get worse, they never get better and you always know what to expect. They're great books for me when I'm feeling burnt out. It's the longest series I've ever read.Um... well (view spoiler).
Well that's good to know - that the books stay witty. Do the scenes continue to be hot? Because me likey...
Yes, hahaha. She really knows how to write a HOT m/m sex scene. You gotta read some of the shorts too, like Striking Sparks was HOT.
The window scene was hot... I like how Jacob is more adventurous and knows who he wants - Vic. Vic is just a mess. haha!
I have only read up through 4 so far and 4 was by far my favorite. It has alot of vic and his funny mess ups and some hot scenes.
4 was the first one I gave 5 stars to. It was so good. There was some really great Jacob/Vic moments.Jacob is definitely the more aggressive one, but I feel like Vic is more relatable.
book 1 was so-so for me, but I really liked book 2...i'm glad I have a policy to always read at least 2 books in a series before decide yes/no towards it
I agree, Jacob is a wonderful fantasy -- to believe a man like that exists and that his vulnerability and ultimate desire would be me (or whoever the main character is), well is a true fantasy. But the stuff that happens to Vic (spilling food on his clothes, dusty car, lack of motivation to unpack, etc.) is so relatable, it feels like me. I am not sure which was the first I gave 5 stars to, I know that I gave 3 stars to #3, it was my least favorite.
Dee wrote: "book 1 was so-so for me, but I really liked book 2...i'm glad I have a policy to always read at least 2 books in a series before decide yes/no towards it"That is a good policy. But the first time I read #1, I really liked it. I think it was Vic's character. I just love him.
i liked number 1, just didn't love it, but really enjoyed number 2...there are other series, where I would have missed some good books if I had given up after the first one (Cattle Valley by Carol Lynn being one of them)
I agree with that. I liked number 1 alot, but it was number 2 that really got me hooked.I actually didn't like Dark Lover much, or Darkfever, and if I had quit then I would have missed out on two of my favorite series.
When I read Darkfever and Darklover I enjoyed them, but they each were also the first I had read in each of those genres. I dont know what I would think today.
I didn't dislike them. I just thought they were very average. Typcial stories that didn't really stand out to me.
But come to think of it. I have re read Darkfever multiple times and loved it each time. So I am guessing that wouldn't change for me. But I tried to re read Darklover and was not able to. B
Somehow I was able to find some amazing series to read when I first joined GR. Outlander, The Bronze Horseman, and BDB. I loved each book.

Regina, I'm okay with it too. (view spoiler)[In the end it will be Jacob and Vic, because they are good balances for each other. But it is realistic that something will go wrong and that it will lead Vic to Crash. And I agree that it was realistic that Jacob would go to Crash. I personally really love Crash's character. He's up there with Jacob and Vic as my three favorites (hide spoiler)].
