Vampire Diaries=Twilight with different names
Look if you don't care than just stop because we really need to calm down it was supposed to be a fun conversation I mean these people aren't even real they're just actors in real life they could be selfish jerks and we can't have them any way they are fictional so let's just take it down a notch cause fighting online where everyone can see isn't helping anyone and you're right we don't know each other so stop dissing each other because you have no idea what shannon is like and I have no idea what you are like lucy so lets all just take a breather

it is sorta like twilight with the love triangle and all, but they have differences like in twilight they have weres and in vampire diaries they have cathorine, and Bonnie plus they have the big fight against evil vamps and all of that stuff.

Vampire Diaries came in the 90s - more than a decade before Stephenie Meyer ever came up with Twilight. The only reason that the show could be made was because of the Twilight craze - people were open to watching a vampire drama geared towards younger adults. It's not a copy. It's just popular now because Twilight restarted the vampire craze. Before TVD it was Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

the Twilight books and a few on the movies were before VD became a hit series on tv.

Ok ok, what's been happening?! All these insults at me, when I'm on holiday in London! Wow, I need to change my password, and yeah, sorry about my dumb cousin lily, she pretends to be me, COME on! Shes done this lots of times, again sorry about her, I e changed my password again so it should be OK :) she says sorry to because I told her parents and they made her call me and apologise so I made her say sorry to u guys 2. Even though you can't hear but hey, it's the thought that counts and yet again sorry about her. Last time she found out my password about 8 people sent me HATE messages, I mean, 8!

someone already said this, but vampire diaries were written in the 90's and twilight in 05. so by chronological order if anything were to copy something it would be that twilight copies vampire diaries. BUT IT DOES NOT in any way other than choosing between 2 awesome choices and vampires. but twi's vamps are SOOO different and the series ends at a certain point, unlike the vamp diaries which just goes ON AND ON. don't get me wrong her i love the vamp diaries, but it needs an end. to the point of movies/ tv series... both SUCK. though i love the cast, the plots gets mushed in vamp diaries and twilight gets all screwey on screen. so 2 different series and plots, both with crap on screen. i'd blame cbs and summit for any stupid similarities!

I wouldn't know, because I refuse to watch the Vampire Diaries. And I know that based on the books, Twilight would have been the one copying (I'm with you though, theyre really not that mucg alike) but if you wanna just go by the Movies/TV show, Vampire Diaries would have been the one copying. And like I said, I don't know if the movies/show are that similar, because I've never seen the Vampire Diaries. As for the Twilight movies sucking... that's your opinion. I do not agree. The question is not whether Vampire Diaries is like Twilight. The question is whether Twilight is like Vampire Diaries. The books for TVD are way, way older. And the TV show has an astronomically different storyline.

Does it really matter? People have been intrigued by vampires long before twilight and VD. Artists "borrow" all the time. Maybe Meyer and Smith read the same vampire books, or had the same dream. I don't know. The point someone made earlier is that the VD tv show doesn't follow the books, so maybe the show's writers are "borrowing" ideas from different sources--Twilight, True Blood, and the Anne Rice.

I watch the show all the time,and yeah. It's vamps and werewolves, but that's the only similarities. Elena is pathetic, yes, but no where near as pathetic as Bella.

Sometimes though, I think Elena is annoying, trying to save everyone but herself--she's still a kid.

While VD gives them family friends and personalities when they are apart and an actual plot that makes me want to continue watching
