Brian...I love Lauren Beukes! Broken Monsters was my favorite..buy Shining Girls was very good as well!!
Found an open source website that has all the classics available for free download, I grabbed a few and have been listening to 'The Scarlet Pimpernel' on my daily commute the last couple of days.
Currently listening to Lock & Key by Joe Hill. I'm on chapter 7 and I had a question about Tyler. Is part of him still dead/trapped in the closet? I couldn't find a discussion link to the audible BOM. :(
I have just started my first audio book, I'm listening to Every Dead ThingI already have a few others lined up to listen to when I'm finished!

Michael wrote: "thinking of doing In the Night Room any thoughts, recommendations?"I haven't heard anything regarding an audio of that book, Michael.
I'm setting aside the full cast production of Dracula to listen to Secondhand Souls, which just came in for me at the library.
I'm going to take a breather and listen to some historical (kinda) books. Marie Antoinette: The Journey and if that sucks I downloaded Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald as a back up. hopefully both are great.
I loved the book about Zelda Fitzgerald. The lady reading it had the best southern accent. I hope I sound as cute as she did!

I like GRRM's science-fiction stories. They remind me a bit of Bruce Sterling's early works, albeit GRRM's stories should be a few years older, if I'm right.
Edit:
The Stone City has a familiar vibe to Involution Ocean.

I thought I finished it today, but I actually listened to the German edition:
Traumlieder 1: Erzählungen
While the original retrospective of Dreamsongs comes in two volumes, the German edition is a three volume one. I guess that means I'm not finished with Dreamsongs I yet.
I thought Dreamsongs would be an excellent candidate for a buddy listen, but now I wonder if it would be too confusing regarding the different volume counts? Guess it might also seem a bit rude of me since I'm not listening to the English original...

I started
but I don't think I'm going to finish it. it is NOT the ghost story I was hoping it to be.
I cannot say enough good things about the audio of Paradise Sky.
It was absolutely fantastic!
I'm starting Elvis Costello's Unfaithful Music and Disappearing Ink, which just came in at the library.
I'm listening to The Goldfinch and loving it. The narrator is excellent. I was thinking that the story kind of meanders and perhaps it should have been edited more, but at this point I don't care. Did not enjoy very much The Secret History by Tartt

Yeah, been a little while for me to Charlene. I am still trying to read all of his books. I don't see anything new or recent from him in a number of years though. I wonder if he is still writing?

Yeah, been a little while for me to Charlene..."
Eric the last novel he published to my knowledge was house of reckoning, he was working on turning some of his novels into graphic novels but I haven't seen anything in a few years from him.
Just started The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America
Lena wrote: "Just started The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America"I LOVED that freaking book, Lena! I hope you do too. It doesn't seem to work for everyone.
Just finished 3 in a series:The Stranger You Seek
Stranger in the Room
Don't Talk to Strangers
A used-to-be-FBI-now-a-PI thriller. Highly recommended if you're into that genre.
Almost finished with A Head Full of Ghosts. Not scary, but it does have a spooky/creepy factor.
I started Forensics: What Bugs, Burns, Prints, DNA and More Tell Us About Crime, the narrator had a shockingly thick Scottish accent. I returned it.
Scott wrote: "I'm listening to HALF A KING by Joe Abbercrombie."I'm listening to Out of Tune and enjoying it. I'm on the Jeff Strand story now.
