Patch also sexually harassed Nora, insulted her, humiliated her infront of the class and teacher, and if I remember correctly attempted to kill her, only to change his mind at the last minute. Edward made some vague threatening statements, but never actually did anything to hut Bella in the first book. I can see why Bella liked Edward, and was able to form a relationship with him faster. I cannot see why Nora formed a relationship at all with Patch.

Zaphara Youngblood When did Patch sexually harass Nora??

And I love the Hush Hush series better then Twilight so I am not comparing them!

In the first book in Biology class. Asking someone sexual questions that makes them uncomfortable is considered sexual harassment.

Zaphara Youngblood Oh I actually thought that was very funny!

Turtles All the Way Down Zaphara Youngblood wrote: "Oh I actually thought that was very funny!"

It bothered me, especially the message it sent.

Zaphara Youngblood I vaguely remember the part when he asks the questions in biology. Something to do with her sex life. But i read the book when it first came out so your going to have to help me out here.
What message?

To me, the book seemed to condone Patches treatment of her and made Nora out to be weak and up tight for not tolerating it or laughing along.

Sorry to sound stupid but whats Anemic?

Vanessa yes i think sometimes she is annoying but i think that adds to her character

An anemic is someone with anemia. Anemia is a blood disorder where a person has a low number of red blood cells*. It can cause a lack of oxygen to the organs, which can be dangerous. In the book Nora has Iron deficiency anemia, but she never displays any of the symptoms and she pops iron supplements as a treatment, which is a big no no.
Most doctors recommend that you avoid iron supplements all together.

*This is a very very simple explanation of Anemia.

Ashley Absolutely not!!! I loved Nora! She was awesome!!!!

message 268: by Abby (new) - rated it 5 stars

Abby I actually really love Nora. She is just such an awesome character!! I get that at first she may have seemed a little insecure with her situation with Patch and jumped to conclusions, but I mean, come on! What was she supposed to think when he started acting strange and kept hanging around that slick little Marcie? I loved her even more in Silence, though!

Dragana Well to be honest even after finishing the book I was annoyed by Nora. I did think look at it in her perspective but for example when she asked Patch for an explanation at a certain moment she just bluntly shut him off while in fact he was telling her what she wanted to know. I do understand how hard it must be for her. I love Patch but what he did not telling her stil made me upset about him too.
All in all I did enjoy the book, but I prefered the 1st one xD

message 270: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm just so pissed at Nora that I dropped book 3, it was so annoying that she couldn't remember ANYTHING that I dropped it

message 271: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy lol i loved the third book cuz i feel like she thought better and she wasnt as stupid:)

message 272: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin I loved Nora. I only was really annoyed with her on some parts but then I think about them and I can see why she did it

message 273: by Amy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Amy lol idk man. shes ok. actually some of the other female leads in the books r way more irritating than her

message 274: by S.L.J. (new) - rated it 1 star

S.L.J. The women in this book seem to shed brain cells with every paragraph.

Where's Hermione when you need her?

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood i love Nora she rocks. espesally when she goes with (who was it again?) to save her mom and end up saving patch to.

message 276: by Brandy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Brandy Nacole There are times when I admire Nora and times that I don't. At first she will be okay then turn whiny and then determined that sometimes gets mingled with the whiny part again. I must say that there are parts in the book where I think Becca portrayed a strong Nora and then a whiny lost Nora that most don't seem to like.

Danielle Nora can be a bit much. There are things she does and decisions she makes that just make me want to rip my hair out. I've seen worse protaganists, but I think he lack of faith in Patch bothers me the most. It seems like she is ALWAYS questioning him and his motives and never fully trusts him. I feel like at times she trusts Scott more than she trusts Patch. Sometimes it just feels like an excuse for drama. Like if they are happy in their relationship then there is no point in the book so we have to make them unhappy and make Nora doubtful of Patch. It irks me a little because you can't have a relationship without trust. You can't say you love someone so much that there is no one else out there for you, then truly doubt their intentions, then find out it was a mistake, then doubt their intentions, then find out it was a mistake, then doubt their intentions...ect. It gets old.

Phoebe Fitz-Gerald In crescendo she does! She can't see that Patch won't tell her he loves her because of arc angles, even though hes told her like 36 million times! Gah!

message 279: by B.L. (new) - rated it 2 stars

B.L. Jones For me Nora is one of those heroines who i dont hate, but there are times when i want to slap her her upside the head xxx

Danielle I don't hate Nora either. If I did I wouldn't have read silence. I had to stop reading the Fallen series because Luce bothered me SO MUCH. Nora I can work with, I just wish she would smarten up a little.

I'm am so with you there.

I totally agree about the Fallen series. Ugh!

Ok now Luce i hated, it's like she was created to be disliked, you know a heroine is annoying when you begin to hope the villian wins out and kills her xxx

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood Luce was\is anyoing..i was going to stop to after the frist book but, i had to keep going just to find out what happens to Cam. i didnt hate Nora, her i could work with to. but i can kinda see why she'd distrust Patch's intestions some times. seeing as he doesnt really tell her why, and then he'll just sometimes take off for no good reasion. although come to think of it.....he doesnt do that as much as Luce's so called boyfriend

message 285: by Rachel (new) - rated it 5 stars

Rachel Nora is an ok character, but you are right about her getting annoying sometimes. And to top it off, I hate her name. It has nothing to do with why her character is annoying sometimes. I was just really hate her name!!!

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood idk i just looked up the meaning of her name, and it means 'Light' so maybe it means she's light headed. when it comes to making dishions and stuff like that. plus Patch already told her, she has a trust promble.

Danielle ^^ Interesting, I didn't know that about her name. I wonder if that was intentional.

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood maybe it was, i wouldnt know for sure. but it kinda fits her in a way

Aafaq Ahmed Annoy?? She makes me sick of her tickling and all that dizziness all the time.

lmao.!

message 291: by Aafaq (new) - rated it 2 stars

Aafaq Ahmed Yeah I'm pretty serious when I say she made me sick. She appeared to me quite simpelton and passive fictional girl I ever found. She is busy all the time snuggling into her bed thinking she'll never bother Patch again and very next moment when she came across that guy, she'll slip into his arms. What the heck? I've never seen a girl feeling so often dizzy and tickling as much Nora do. But I still dont hate her.

Jessieeeee Jei Actually, Marcie is the annoying one cus she keep messing things up between Patch and Nora and making Nora doubt Patch.

message 293: by [deleted user] (new)

not awesome for patch

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood hummm......i will agree that Marcie does have a tendency to mess things up with Nora and Patch. (and yes i agree with the anynoying part. at some parts id like to super gule her mouth shut) but Patch does happen to mess things up to. on his own without any help. but i think Nora's like that bc when her mom's away and she's alone in the house it gives her time to think about there relaship and then she doubts it. and thinking about all that, can be hard and then she thinks thouse things but. then when she sees him she feels safe with him. (at least thats my take on all of this)

message 295: by Katrina (new)

Katrina Welsh I enjoyed the first one but when I started Crescendo I just couldn't handle Nora (btw, stupid name) with her annoying habits. That whole affair at the beginning pissed me off. Seriously, I wish she'd just calm down and think! Besides, Patch got wayyyy too creepy and stalkerish. I just stopped reading it, which was a bit of a shame, really. I was getting excited about how the plot was thickening, especially with the real reason behind her dad's death.

message 296: by Lisa (new) - rated it 2 stars

Lisa Patch creeped me out so much..

Cassie 'The Thinker Go Go Go Go' Mis. Roben Goodfellow'\Isabelle Lightwood i have to say patch did get creepy\Stalkerish. but it wasnt really his fault. seeing as, she was hanging out with Scott all the time. and they just ended up at the same places.

message 298: by Ainy (new) - rated it 1 star

Ainy I don't blame Nora, any girl would feel suspicious if catches her boyfriend with her rival.
