Valenciya Lyons | 7 comments My romance novella, Linden, is available for free July 1st and 2nd.
Linden

In high school, Linden was the unpopular nerd who was never invited to any of the cool parties. She had a few friends and they were ridiculed for being too smart and for not bending the rules and learning to live. She never smoked pot, got high, drank alcohol, or had sex.

Addison was the popular kid who never had to try hard to get girls to like him. Fate lands them at the same college. He often finds himself staring at her during class. When she notices and meets his gaze, he averts his eyes—embarrassed that he was staring to begin with. And he ignores the flirty stares he gets from other girls. The only girl whose attention he wants is hers—and she won’t give him the time of day.

My fifth historical fiction novel Gwenna is available on preorder until release date 24 July.

Please add her to your Want to Read list

Against all odds, the plucky sweet maker refuses to relinquish her dreams.

Amid the bustling vibrancy of Auckland’s Karangahape Road, Gwenna Price’s passion is making sweets. Her pa had great plans for the family confectionery business when they emigrated from the valleys of Wales looking for a new life, but he died all too soon. Gwenna promised she would bring his dreams to life instead - and she would, if it wasn’t for her domineering stepbrother, Elias. With him in charge, it would be a matter of time before the business collapsed.

Falling in love with the cheeky and charming Johnno opens up other opportunities, but every step of the way Gwenna is thwarted. If not by Elias, then by Johnno’s father and the restraints of a society with strict Victorian values, but Gwenna is irrepressible. Nothing will stand in her way.

Throughout the twists and turns of love and tragedy, Gwenna is a young woman with uncommon courage, determination and ambition in an era when women were expected to stay at home. There are people who love her and those who are willing to help her achieve her goal but, blind to anything that distracts her from creating her legacy, Gwenna risks losing the one thing that matters to her the most.

Inspired by a true story, Gwenna is a fascinating insight into life in Auckland at the turn of the 20th century. Winner of a gold Quality Mark from BGS.

From the author of ‘The Cornish Knot’ and ‘The Girl from County Clare’ – a B.R.A.G medallion recipient - whose writing has been compared to that of Catherine Cookson.

C.E. Gee | 182 comments This is our first real reprint. Previous reprints (2) have been posted to the blog GARDYLOO and were either a story from a magazine that went belly up (the British Ezine Steel Caves) or a story that was never published but was too good to toss.

Anyway, some of you may remember our story “A Genesis” which was first published back in February of 2017. The reprint has been doctored a little, but is much the same.

This story takes less than three minutes to read!

This story may offend those who hold strict religious beliefs. What can I say? If I was afraid of offending others I wouldn’t be a writer –- I wouldn’t be me.

A.R. Simmons (arsimmons) | 63 comments The 12th novel in the Richard Carter series (Mystery/Suspense), Devil's Run (June 13, 2017)

Arson to sanitize the murder of partners in a realty firm?
The only thing connecting the victims is the business, Blue Creek Realty. Rookie deputy Kit Kittredge notices something odd at the decommissioned lead smelter when she responds to a lost child report out near Devil's Run. There is something odd about the Devil's Run Plant, extremely odd. And Blue Creek Realty owns the property.
But people aren't killed over real estate--at least not in rural Hawthorn County.
As Richard, Guidry, Kit, and the boss interview the partners' widows, the killer makes it clear that he still has business to take care of. Now all their potential suspects are also potential targets
The murder book gets thicker, yet the team finds no convincing motive--until they uncover something too big for a rural sheriff's department to handle.

Nathan Bush | 48 comments Root of Evil, book two of The Foley Chronicles, is now available on Amazon (paperback and kindle), and Createspace.

Root of Evil (The Foley Chronicles Files from the 8th District - Vol 2) by Nathan Bush

Detective Quin Butler is the new guy in the Homicide Division of Foley's 8th District. He isn't in town long when he and his partner, Senior Detective John Filcher, draw their first case together.

A man is found bludgeoned to death and his motel room ransacked. Nothing at the scene suggests what the killer was after. To add to the mystery, his body is riddled with odd-shaped markings. As they work the investigation, new evidence in a cold case comes to light and makes life even more hectic for the pair.

Trouble also abounds for Quin in his personal life when he meets a beautiful woman, who happens to be an old friend (old flame?) of John's. Why is John so protective of her? What circumstances caused her to leave Foley in the first place?

When the answers come, will Quin second guess his decision to pursue her against John's wishes?

Check it out and let me know what you think. BTW, Written in Blood, book one, is also still available

Phillip Vega | 12 comments Last Exit to Montauk by Phillip Vega Phillip Vega

Hi Goodreads Authors/Readers discussion/Romance > Authors List Your New Releases Here:

I am new to this group, and wanted to share the release of my debut novel, Last Exit to Montauk, released on May 2, 2017. Below is some insight into my novel along with links.

According to my readers, Last Exit to Montauk had them laughing and crying in the beat of just a few pages. It’s a coming-of-age romantic tale of young love, based in the 1980's and summertime on Long Island.

Though the main characters are in their late teens, this is not classified as a new-adult novel, though it certainly could appeal to readers in that category.

Instead, I see it as a love story for any age. And my readership thus far attests to that, talking about memories of first love, or Long Island, or summertime anywhere, or the icons of the 1980's—or all of the above.

It’s also received endorsements from some heavy-hitters in the book industry as well. (see Goodreads reviews)

The novel is available in digital format and paperback. Also, I am willing to participate in an author interview. Below are links to various sites, including to an upcoming event we're hosting on our Facebook page. It's an online reader's circle, July 15, 2017, from 6 to 8 PM ET.

Jasper Trey | 2 comments My newest (and only haha) novel. I would love feedback on the story or the synopsis!

Olivia (The Harris Legacy) by Jasper Trey

https://www.amazon.com/Olivia-Harris-...

Romance meets duty in this modern love story. Can Dante convince Olivia to take a chance on a future with him, or will Olivia’s past hold her back?.

By the command of his father, King Roberto, Dante must come home to his family and country and serve in a capacity outside of the military life he’s served for a decade. What that capacity is, nobody knows. Dante is given mere weeks to figure it out, where better to think than a beach halfway across the world and where no one knows who you are?

Olivia has no intention of starting an affair. She wants a beach, some sun, and the space to heal her heart. It’s been more than a year since her husband died and she hasn’t done much more than take care of their children in that time. This vacation is for her, but delivering a beer, and making a five-minute friend won’t cut into that time to much, right?

Neither is looking for anything more than a friend in a strange land, but after spending a week together, will they really be able to walk away and find there happy ever after with someone else? Scroll to the top of this page to start your journey with Olivia and Dante. From Tahiti to Oklahoma, Dallas to the Mediterranean, follow these two as they travel to discover each other.

Bruce E. | 159 comments The fourth book in the series "Grandchildren of Lemma" is about to be released. It is called "Dogmas, Gods, and Simulcrons". It will befound with the rest of the series on

www.grandchildernoflemma.com

Synopsis of “Dogmas, Gods and Simulcrons”

The first section is the story of Darg and Lishl. It deals with their early life together on a mediation station where the Progeny from Symmetry and the Chan controlled by man-hating priests have been trying for decades to iron out a peace treaty. Darg, a son of the Progeny negotiator, is allowed on the station because he is a child. Lishl, also a child, is a daughter of the Chan negotiator. However, it is really the story of how the two children fell into an enduring love. It ends with the part their love affair played in starting the war and the impact of the dogma of the Chan women on the inevitability of the war. We learn for the first time how the innocent and well-meaning choices by two women changed the future of the galaxy.

In the second section Magda le Ter returns to the mainland of Europe after the war to find the tribe of her daughter Krissy. To find Krissy and to help her tribe survive, she must dodge radiation that is strong enough to overpower even her redaction and lead them south away from the ice approaching rapidly from the north. From the pages we can see how the classical Greek myths arose, helped by the fictionalization of real events by her descendant Metira. This is also the story of three female descendants of Magda who show incredible abilities. Lokoshim is a genius by any standard and makes spectacular leaps of intellect that defy the environment in which she was raised. Metira is an unparalleled storyteller frequently unconcerned with the truth. Artemy is the wild card with unprecedented abilities including redactive powers untouched by even Magda. During all of this Magda is driven by a need to in some way find a route back to Great Island.

In the third section Maglie tells of the trip back to Origin to find the Box and to find a home for thirty thousand displaced Progeny. They place the Progeny off the coast of Asia. However, a great discovery awaits them at the South Pole. There they find a dome that is completely impenetrable. The walls are not completely opaque and they can see there are people inside moving extremely slowly. On one side of the buildings are columns of writing that they try to translate. They discover that the dome still houses two of the world builders of Lemura, those who create computer worlds that appear to be as real as our own. At the same time they discover the fate of Atlantis. In addition the reader not only finds out the truth behind Lemma, but Jeevra finds out who her childhood benefactor was.

Three years on from Egypt, Anna Davies embarks on her first cruise with best friend Sandra. A few days into the holiday they are woken by three blasts from the ship’s foghorn, indicating that someone has fallen overboard. A woman is lost at sea; the ship turns around to search for her, but she has disappeared into the night.

Was it suicide? Did she lose her balance and fall - or was there foul play involved? Did her husband push her? Would anyone be able to prove whether this was murder or an unfortunate accident?

Jeffrey Ryan (goodreadscomjeffrey_h_ryan) | 7 comments Blazing Ahead Benton Mackaye, Myron Avery, and the Rivalry That Built the Appalachian Trail by Jeffrey H Ryan Jeffrey H Ryan Jeffrey H Ryan

Blazing Ahead: Benton MacKaye, Myron Avery and the Rivalry that Built the Appalachian Trail.

The Appalachian Trail is one of America's most revered resources, a project of near-mythic proportions combining rugged natural beauty and human determination. But few know the story behind the creation of the world's longest hiking-only trail. The proposal could have died in the pages of a journal had it not been for the efforts of many people―including two, in particular: Benton MacKaye and Myron Avery. While the two men shared a common goal, their vastly different personalities meant it was only a matter of time before these sometimes allies, sometimes adversaries had a falling out.

My book tells this story in active, engaging scenes that weave history together and biography, detailing the external forces the trail builders faced: the stock market crash, World War II, and the prevailing opinions regarding wilderness and recreation. Drawing upon never before published sources from the State of Maine Archives, Blazing Ahead delves deep into the historical realities MacKaye and Avery faced. Through extensive research and vivid storytelling, this book tells the true but little-known story of a shared vision, the rivalry it bred, and the legacy of the men behind one of the nation's greatest treasures.

Andy Zach (andy_zach) | 49 comments Here's my new novel in my Life After Life Chronicles: "My Undead Mother-in-law"

My mother-in-law's a zombie. And she has anger-management issues.

My mother-in-law, Diane Newby, zombified by accident. She still volunteers at her church bake sales and cooks pot roast for her daughter and son-in-law, Ron Yardley. What ticks her off is when people don't treat her like a normal human being-with glowing red eyes and super strength and speed. And if she doesn't get her own way, look out. She explodes and leaves broken plaster and body parts in her wake. Nothing stops her: not brick walls, the federal government, or middle-aged spread.

But the world's most powerful criminal plans to control zombies. His only problem with zombies is that they have way too much free will. He has a solution for that. But will it work with Diane Newby?

The world divides into pro-zombie and anti-zombie factions. Battles break out everywhere. Which side will you take? Who will live and who will die?

You might not survive this book. But at least you'll die laughing.

"Life In Shackles" is a collection of great social stories based on the plight of women in different situations of life. The book is pure fiction but these situations are real as these are stories of various women at distant places. The author tried to give a clear-cut message to the community as a whole that if this is the scenario, our women deserve to live a happy life beyond these Shackles.

In a strange twist of fate, whilst marooned there he gets talking, and closer than he ever expected he could after three years of mourning, to the beautiful young owner Cheryl.
But she, like Joe, has baggage and secrets. Can their blossoming love match up to Knowing Rose?
This first romance novel by Kristin H. Richards is an emotional rollercoaster ride of a book that will move and bring a tear to the eye of even the coldest heart. Get your copy on amazon
