I'm sorry :( Hope you're okay x
Thanks you guys. (: But I'm okay. I'm not gonna waste my time worrying about what went wrong. I've been doing great. (:
Hayley, good for you to focus on the positive element!! You are already beating me in number of books and my goal is higher than yours so if your reading time increases you will definitely beat your goal!!
I've been debating on whether or not I should do this since everyone's goals are much, much higher than mine--but I decided to cave. My goal is a mere 20 since I'm studying for my national boards exams in June. Hopefully, I'll be able to raise it once I see where I am after the exams!5/20
1. The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America Feb. 7
2. Cutting for Stone Mar. 4
3. The Eat-Clean Diet Recharged: Lasting Fat Loss That's Better Than Ever! Mar. 23
4. The White Lioness May 10
5. The Man Who Smiled May 20

Good luck with your exams (:

Mine was only 20 as well (I am a teacher and all my spare time goes to planning) but I read a bit in Jan while I was on holidays and am thinking I can do that again this year so I upped mine to 30 the other day - since it is a 'challenge' after all.
Good luck Ashley!
My goal is 25 for the year :)Sad to say I'm working on number 1 still for the year...but hopefully this will get me motivated!

Then I got my college acceptance letter and I've been nonstop busy!! I so badly want to open another book but it's been nothing but college, college, college! My reading is momentarily at a stand-still!

I'd rather aim for 36 though, and then manage to read 50, than aim for 50 and be no where near XD
Can't say I blame you there. Last year my goal was 100 and I only made it to 40. This year my goal is 50 and I think I will probably read more , but I don't want to try for 100 and not make it.
I've upped my goal AGAIN to 50 for the year. I want it to be a challenge and I am reading so much that I can't even believe it. So I'm changing mine to 50 please :)
Teneal wrote: "I've changed my goal to 100."Good for you! How many have you read so far? I am ahead in my schedule, but have some longer books I want to read later in the year, so don't think I should up it yet!
Teneal wrote: "I've changed my goal to 100."pretty soon you'll say 200! you've read more than me! I am slow!

I'm pretty sure I've read 17 so I'm 3 behind but I will be able to catch it up during school holidays.
Haha Catherine, I think 100 will be my limit :P
Jessa wrote: "I just hit 23 of 52. I'm pretty decently pleased with my progress."Well done Jessa!! :)
There are so many books i should like to read, but, i never actually compiled a list! I honestly don't know how many I've read, but, I'm sure it's in the neighborhood of a couple dozen or so. I will have to compile a list (in my spare time) and get back to you!Currently reading "Everything's Eventual" by Steven King, and there's a short story in there about Roland, from the Dark Tower series, and this makes me want to re read all those. I also want to read "Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter" and "1Q84" and "Divergent" and "The Hunger Games" Because I keep seeing those names pop up again and again on other people's lists, and so they must be pretty good!
In an effort to clear my TBR list somewhat, I challenged myself to read one book beginning with each letter of the alphabet ... since there are no books beginning with "X" on my tbr, I substituted a book beginning with a number. As of right now, I've finished 14 and have still to read# - The 19th Wife
A - Ape House or Almost Heaven
D - Death on Demand or Dancing for Degas
F - A Fierce Radiance
J - Juliet
K - A Kiss in Time
N - Never Change
Q - Q & A (basis for movie Slumdog Millionaire
U - An Unfinished Life or Under Fishbone Clouds
V - Vivaldi's Virgins or The Vagrants
Y - A Yellow Raft in Blue Water
Z - Zoli
I'm ALSO doing the same thing for authors (last name). Again, I've completed 14 so far, so have these 12 left to go
A - ALEXANDER, Bruce
E - ESPINOZA, Alex -or- EBERSHOFF, David
I - ISAY, David
L - LI, Yiyun -or- LIPPMAN, Laura
N - NEIDERHOFFER, Galt
Q - QUICK, Barbara
R - RICE, Eva -or- REVOYR, Nina
U - UMBRIGAR, Thrity
V - VREELAND, Susan
X - XU, Riyuan
Y - YGLESIAS, Rafael
Z - ZODOFF, Allen
Wow I envy you guys who hope to read more than a hundred of books this year. I've read only 23 so far, some of them are graphic novels (Sandman) and short stories, so I do not dare to add a book more than 70 for my personal challenge this year.Update (27-05-2012): 29/70
