Alyssa (jynx66) | 52 comments Hey Suzanne Indiana! Here are your recs!!! (i didnt get to post them yesterday I was traveling all night! Sorry!

Nice

Winter Solstice: Neil and Obey by Elizabeth Coldwell sounds kinda cute

Summer Solstice A Dance With Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, #5) by George R.R. Martin Dragons are always awesome, :)

Series Clean-Up: The Solstice Mistletoe Effect (Mistletoe Science, #2) by Serena Yates ...sounds like a very interesting concept.

Naughty

Many Yearly Challenges: Lover Eternal (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #2) by J.R. Ward I just did this one for the previous challenge and loved it, and I saw you read the first in the series.

Favorite Book of the Year: Oh most definitely without a doubt, Jennifer Lyon's Wing Hunter Slayer series. Blood Magic (Wing Slayer Hunters, #1) by Jennifer Lyon I couldn't put it down. Or Pamela Clare's I-Team series. Extreme Exposure (I-Team, #1) by Pamela Clare Both are just amazing series and I love them both.

A Read That Made You Blush: definitely Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs, #2) by Lora Leigh BDSM theme caught me so off guard at first, but I really enjoyed this one.

Buddy Read

Book Buying: Last Wolf Hunting (Blood Runners, #2) (Harlequin Nocturne, #38) by Rhyannon Byrd I had read the first one and really liked it and Rhyannon is one of my favorite authors

Christmas Read: The Twilight Before Christmas (Includes Drake Sisters, #2; Christmas, #2) by Christine Feehan I read one other book in this series and really like it and this is the only Christmas one I could find on both our lists. So hey, why not?

I hope you like my pics! If not I can try again! Have a good challenge! :)

Lili, I'm pretty sure you put the wrong name in here. :)
Thanks for the picks, I added a couple to my Amazon wishlist. I will probably go with one of these as they fit into the challenges I'm desperately trying to finish up before the end of the year:
Atlantis Rising (Warriors of Poseidon, #1) by Alyssa Day
Pleasure of a Dark Prince (Immortals After Dark #9) by Kresley Cole

Thanks for the awesome picks! I'm definately going to read Lover Eternal, I've got that one on audio so that'll be easy! Looks like I'll have to read Last Wolf Standing (Blood Runners, #1) before I start Last Wolf Hunting (Blood Runners, #2), but I have both of those on my book shelf so no problem there! The others I'm going to request from the library and see if I get them in time. THanks for the awesome picks!!!

I know...really beyond! I went for the most blush-worthy book I'd ever read. I'm glad you're going to read The Hunger Games. The series is really amazing and the movie is coming out in the spring.

message 405: by MountainKat, Moderator (new)

MountainKat | 31593 comments Mandy, I finished The Warlord Wants Forever yesterday and I really enjoyed it! Thank you for the push to get back to this series. When I was done I did a quick listen to Go the Fuck to Sleep - I laughed out loud several times! And I am going to have to get the book for my son for Christmas - my granddaughter fights bedtime like crazy!

I hope to get to at least one more of your picks, but I can't decide between Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night, Bloodfever and Surrender. I do hope to read Holiday Bound sometime this month. I do Like Christmas and enjoy seasonal stories this time of year. You don't have to join me. ; )

I have got to get my hands on that book!! I've got three young boys (8, 6, and 3) who all sleep together in one room.

Ning (dragonceres) | 33 comments Hey Lauren,

Finished In Bed with a Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #1) by Maya Banks . Not really my favorite. I left a comment in the buddy read thread, but I can't decided between Covet or Branded by Fire next. Or I might read the nx book in the trilogy. Maybe Alaric's story will be better?

Hey, so I almost started on Alaric's story, but when I read the way they talk, like "don't die, warrior", or "..., Laird," I couldn't do it. That way of talking, I just can't stand it.
So I decided to read
Branded by Fire. Thoroughly enjoying this one though! Forgot how much I loved the series!

I finished readingUndeniably Yours yesterday, and finished listening to the audio version of It Happened One Autumn today. Karen,
I'm so glad you liked them! The Wallflower series is awesome and the 3rd is my favorite, can't wait for you to read that one. I've been wanting to start the Shannon Stacey series, it's gotten great reviews. So many books, so little time!
Looking forward to our buddy read :)

message 419: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne (pebblesy) Finished Twas The Night today. Solid 3 * book... which I happened to give 4 *'s to as I really loved the "Top Gun" copy scene in santa suits!!

message 420: by Christine (new)

Christine | 955 comments I think I forgot to post that I finished Succubus Shadows which was recommended in the series clean-up category. Only one more book to go in that series and I am done with it. Yeah!

message 421: by Vi (new)

Vi | 2794 comments Iris, I finally had time to go through my picks. Thanks for the great picks! I'm not sure which book to read though. I know I have to get back on the BDB wagon but for some strange reason, I'm reluctant to. I think I'm going to aim for Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist or the The Raven Queen. We can also buddy read The Warlord Wants Forever in the later part of the month, if you can.

Vi, I love Kresley Cole's work. I'm all for a buddy read. I'm in the middle of a buddy read for A Discovery of Witches right now, but I'm definitely interested in doing the buddy read later on in the month. Let me know when you're ready.

Did you want to pick up North of Need (Hearts of the Anemoi, #1) by Laura Kaye Monday? I have another body read next week, but its going to be a short book and I'll be listening to via audiobook, so I should be able to read this one at the same time.

message 424: by Sue (new)

Sue (knitwitsl) | 226 comments Elise,

I finished Bridleton late last night. I thought the book was okay, but I don't think I'd recommend it. But I am glad I got a chance to read it! I still want to read 1225 Christmas Tree Lane. I just received an email that it's ready at the library for me to pick up! Hopefully I can get by there this weekend.

Sue-

Great pick, Jane! Next of course, I'll read ARTS and then maybe Lover Avenged. :)

That is one series I haven't started... I think because the first book doesn't get the enthusiastic reviews of the others... Would it matter if you read them out of order?

message 441: by D.G. (last edited Dec 08, 2011 02:13PM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments It depends on which ones you want to read. 1 & 5 are interconnected (the relationship on two of the leads from 5 starts in 1) and 5 is noted as one of the best in the series...but I've known people that have read #5 first and have jumped to other books in the series.

You can skip #2 (which is almost not related to any of the others and it's just OK.)

#3 is good and not as connected to the rest so you can start with that one and see if the series works for you.

message 442: by Fran, Moderator (new)

Fran | 12278 comments Jane, I love the whole series and I have a bunch of them that are lendable if you want to borrow one and see how you like it :)

message 443: by Jane (PS), Moderator (last edited Dec 08, 2011 02:38PM) (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Thanks DG and Fran :) Perhaps I had better start with #1 or 3 - whichever appeals most... And I might take you up on that offer Fran, when I can sort out my reading lists!

message 444: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments 5 is one of my favorites, if you just want mindless boinking in all forms then book 1 is good...lol! its a total fuckfest (yep, I said it)...I also liked book 8

message 445: by D.G. (last edited Dec 08, 2011 03:00PM) (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments LOL! That's the perfect word, Dee!

#8 is the one coming up for me next. I'm looking forward to Jack & Keely's book. :)

Hahaha! They can get a bit tedious without a storyline, but OK - book 1 it is!

message 447: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments book 1 mostly takes place on the PBR circuit, after that she moves back to their family ranch in wyoming and mostly stays there for the rest of the series, so you see more of the family/ the town, vice the horny cowboys and buckle bunnies on the circuit

message 448: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments The ones that come after have a storyline...it's just that first one...not so much!

And you'll get a payoff with #5. :)

message 449: by Jane (PS), Moderator (new)

Jane (PS) | 24334 comments Oh well - I don't think they are long books, so I can probably plough through #1 so that it opens up the rest of the series for me :)

message 450: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 7316 comments they aren't, but they have gotten longer as its gone on...I think the first one is like 150 pages maybe - her last one is print was like 300
