Mapping your "journey"
i started a map for my personal side-challenge but i'll be making one for 52 as i go along, starting January 1 in South Africa. i think this map thing is so cool...but i haven't checked in on my account in awhile so i can't remember, is there a way for us to follow each other on there? i think i will use their blog function to post my reviews of the books i read for each stop. but i might be too lazy.

Ooh, you know Hindi. Very apt song for the situation.
Here's my trip. I made one earlier, but it was a mess. So I decided to go marking as I read. http://www.travellerspoint.com/member...

Scarlett, would you translate please because I'd like to sing too. :)

So you're on your third book or is this the "trip" you plan to start Jan.1?

Mikki, the meaning can't be translated literally, it's really the words and the mood that is what it is all about. However, it is something like "I walked hand in hand with life...".
I guess Scarlett can translate better.

Yes, Anne, I'm on my third book since my list instead of having 52 books, has a humongous 206! :(
I can't seem to cut short even one. And you know I only have so much time before I got busy. So, I'm making the most of it. :)
Good for you, Pragya. We both know that when you get busy you won't have so much free time for things like reading novels. No need to cut your list. I haven't counted all the books on my list but I know I won't be reading them all next year. I just have them as options for this year and tbr in following years.
Yes, with these 206 and more than 800 others on my TBR, looks like I have made my TBR for my lifetime. :)
I realized yesterday that I have only 400 unread books in the house, which will hold me for a mere 2 1/2 years. I hope Christmas will rectify this.
Pragya wrote: "Yes, with these 206 and more than 800 others on my TBR, looks like I have made my TBR for my lifetime. :)"Do you really think your current tbr will last a lifetime? What about al the books you will be adding? Ha.

You know what, that is what I was thinking. But I thought maybe I could live in denial that no more books will be added to my TBR but you caught me, ;)

Anne wrote: "I have no itinerary either. I know that I'm starting in England. After that I'll travel based on my mood or group reads.http://www.travellerspoint.com/member..."
Anne, I'm not able to get to your map. Did you put in only one destination because it might require two just to begin showing journey. Or maybe I'm just not seeing right?
Mikki, you're right. It was showing a town in England, my first stop. Now it looks like I haven't set it up. I'll just have to wait until I figure out my second stop.
Okay, I remembered my second stop. Here's my itinerary so far:http://www.travellerspoint.com/member...

Oooh! Perfect song! Har fikr ko dhooyein mein udata chala gaya. :D So, let's quit worrying about how we're going to finish the list and just enjoy the travels.

I see it now and I'm thinking that we can link our reviews where it has an area for description...
Mikki wrote: "I see it now and I'm thinking that we can link our review..."Does it accept hyperlinks?
I tested it but they seem to only work on the blogs. I might need to play around with it a bit more...
A zombie apocalypse will be hell on public libraries.

This is going to be SOOOOOO cool. I'm waiting to 1/1 to officially, since I'm finishing things up for challenges from this year, but I'm very excited. I've got the planned map up, but might it is likely to get altered as I go (I've figured out how to move stops around). Meanwhile I also geocache (see www.geocaching.com -- it is a blast) and have a travel bug in a race this year (against many others, including ones by husband and daughter), and I have maps for those up too. This is so addictive...
I updated my route to include my two most recent destinations, Laos and Israel. Here's my current map:

Judging from the proliferation of books on the subject, I have assumed so.

Right after the Mayan apocalypse ... oh wait, that's right, someone miscalculated this and it won't happen in the next years. I'm sure they'll find a logical reason why the zombie apocalypse hasn't happened too.
Back to topic, I've made my map based on the books I already own ... I seem to have ignored out South America. Didn't look so bad when I just wrote it down ... maybe I should choose the last books from those countries ;).
I wonder what a zombie apocalypse would look like. I'm not knowledgeable in this area, but would like to be aware of the first signs.
Beth, that's very depressing. Now everyone is going to ask themselves whether they're actually just zombies attacking book stores instead of innocent humans buying reading material ;).
Beth wrote: "First sign: people on reading sites asking about the signs of a zombie apocalypse."Hahahahahaha
Beth wrote: "I fear I am a reading zombie!"I'm afraid to ask what that means.....but I'll be brave. Beth, what's a reading zombie?
Anne wrote: "Beth wrote: "I fear I am a reading zombie!"I'm afraid to ask what that means.....but I'll be brave. Beth, what's a reading zombie?"
Er - I am guessing that it means someone for whom books are the equivalent of what brains are to "normal" zombies.
Beth wrote: "I live to suck my life blood from reading material?"Sorry to be pedantic but wouldn't you be a reading vampire then? And thanks to Stephanie Meyer, belonging to that bloodline (haha!) isn't cool anymore - unless we're talking about Dracula, of course.
Not in a million years! And there is always a huge bag of books at my mom's cabin on the lake in Maine for us to read when we arrive to visit. She and my dad used to read aloud to each other when he was alive. Very cool.
Hi everyone, I'm Peter, one of the founders of Travellerspoint. Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I was very excited to see you all using the trip mapping feature this way - really great idea :)
Hi Peter. Welcome. Great site you have. We all think it's really cool and will be using it very actively next year.

No itinerary, going as I wish, picking up books as I find them.
