Mapping your "journey"

Marieke, may I recommend a book on Xanadu for your capital cities tour? Or do they have to be real places? I think watching the Olivia Newton John movie could probably also count in a pinch.

Hmmmm...Xanadu sounds like a good idea. Can I map it?

Your route made me laugh out loud - like a big scribble on the globe, fabulous.

That's what I was wondering as I'm not really one that sticks to itinerary plans! :D
Marieke, do we just play drunk?

I'm pretty excited about this tool. I think I will practice by making a record of the Tour d'Afrique we've been doing at Great African Reads for the past two-ish years.
If only I didn't have to go to work this morning!

You can map it as you go, change a route part way through (if you decide to read another book from a different country) you can add notes to each place as you visit and the website also lets you look at photos of the country/cities as you go!

Thanks, Mikki. You're the best.
Excellent, Nicola! I'm very excited to give it a try! And since Mikki kindly wrote me a note to excuse me from work today.............

I was getting dizzy following her routes. Major carbon footprint.

I haven't seen the Proust bit yet. I've been busy circling the globe. There are a lot of interesting things on that site.

I'm starting with Lesotho: Singing Away the Hunger: The Autobiography of an African Woman.

Here are most of my books :-)
I've arranged them in a pile + a window sill, boy I'm going to get busy reading next year...

Wow, that's a great idea! I might do this!

YAY! Another collection. Great job Louise!
I wound up reading something else first. Is there a way to delete a point on the Travellerspoint map?

Yes. You can either right click on the place you want to delete and then delete it. Or you can insert a new point before it and that way you get to keep your original choice in the list.

Here's our route. http://www.travellerspoint.com/member...

Now, I shall go and map my journey based on the availability of 'Old Monk' at each port.

And you can add to the map as you go.
