Taylor | 5 comments I still think the whole thing is creepy though. Even in the books and how he said that he was never "in love" with Bella he was in love with the unborn baby in her. It was just weird.

I din't take it that way. Bella had said to Jacob that she felt she was supposed to love him but that they got it wrong somehow. She first brought up the idea that they were irresistably drawn to each other. I really like that it worked out for all of them. Personally, I;m a fan of fate. But this story line had to be handled very carefully or it would be creepy. I think the fact that he says he would be anything for her--her brother, friend etc made it okay--he was basically saying his feelings were not romantic. But we know that one day when the time is right they will be.

Victoria (vsquared) | 3 comments I really enjoyed it. Agree with Cassidy and P.A., like how they ended the movie, and how they handled the imprinting. It's my favorite so far, then Eclipse. Absolutely hated Twilight. I didn't care for New Moon's book or movie.

i agree with you on New Moon! I thought the story line was boring (not that fact that Edward left though) and Bella was being stupid and i thought it was creepy how she had such a hard time getting over him.

ஐAndreaஐ (rosesrrblue) | 707 comments I really liked it, but some things were just too rushed.

Really, one day she threw up and within 10 minutes she knew she was pregnant? Could they have spaced out the scenes a little maybe give her a couple days, get tired on the hikes?

Oh and the scene with Rose and the dog bowl, they really should have worked that in, it was so funny.

Terry (Ter05 TwiMoms/ MundieMoms) (ter05) | 608 comments I agree with everything you said, P.A.

When they do book to movie there are just things that have to be left out or the movie would be eight hours long and the theaters would not air it. The producers and screen writers may decide to leave something out that I would want left in, but they are the ones who have to try to please everyone and keep continuity to the story. Considering that Stephenie Meyer was a producer of this movie, I assume some of these decisions were hers - and it is her story. I thought it was as close to a perfect book to movie as I have seen.

message 58: by Jade aka MrsTosh (new)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) I liked it, but disn't think it was as good as the book....but are they ever?!

I also agree with Cassidy I thought they finished the film in an exellent place, especially for people who haven't read the books.

There were various parts of the film I didn't like, for instance the pack talking to each other and Jacob views whilst in his wolf form. I also didn't like the imprinting scene though it was a bit lax to be honest after they made such a big deal out of it's importance...although it was nice to see it not viewed as a sexual thing which people keep making it into, they made it more a protector role.

I did however like the wedding, I though Bella looked absolutely beautiful and of course I would soo like to be Mrs E Cullen on my honeymoon at Isle Esme :)

All in all I enjoyed the film and will definately be watching it again.

I agree the whole wolf pack talking was very lame.

I liked the imprinting thing because it wasn't sexual.

The wedding was awesome.

What did you think of the Voltoui scene at the end of the credits???

Jennifer☠Pher☠ (naylorjen) | 32 comments I thought the opposite. I loved the wolf pack talking. I thought it gave a very good impression of what it must sound like to them all the time. Hearing the voices like they are screaming in your head. I was actually really glad for that scene. I also loved the imprinting, him seeing the future made it less creepy, him falling to his knees. Both scenes I thought were very well done.

message 61: by KK (new)

KK (kk567) | 20 comments I liked the Voltoui scene at the end. It lets you know about the power play where the Voltoui are involved. You figure it out for your self in the book but sometimes that is harder to do in the movie especially if the person watching the movie never read the books.

I agree and was so glad I got the heads up prior to going. There were only like 12 people left in the theater because they didn't know!

message 63: by Jade aka MrsTosh (new)

Jade aka MrsTosh (mrstosh) I suppose Terri they are getting us ready for Part 2 and what happens in the second part of the book! I think we knew that something more was going on with Aro and that he has always wanted the power the Cullen family has! I guess we will have to wait and see :)

B at Spare Time Book Blog | 4 comments I loved it! Some of the pregnant scenes kind of freaked me out by the way she looked. However they did an amazing job. I still think they need to tone down the eyes of the vampires to how they were more in the first movie. They look a little crazy now. However, this is my favorite movie thus far. I plan on taking my mom over the holiday haha.

Sarah (sarealist) | 55 comments I think it followed the book pretty well up to part three. I do however cringed at how cheesy the alpha wolf scene was. I know it was hard to portray since, in the book, they speak to each other through their minds but still-SUPER cheesy. I liked the wedding and honeymoon (although they needed more detail instead of just quiet scenes between one another). They did an excellent job making Bella look how she was described in the book, absolutely awful. It was scary how thin and sickly she looked, I actually didn't know if Kristen has to starve herself or what because she looked really sick even without makeup additions.
Overall, if you liked Breaking Dawn the book, you will like the movie. Thumbs UP.

I'm not sure that scene can be acted out without the cheese. Really, there are only so many ways to show they are talking telepathically.

message 68: by Jamielyn (new)

Jamielyn | 45 comments Why didn't I find that scene with the wolves talking cheesy? haha it's just weird.

message 69: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarealist) | 55 comments Right, it will automatically look cheesy in a movie because if it were "real life" we wouldn't be able to hear them, but they HAD to do voice overs. But the part where Jacob grows combined with the voices, looked goofy, although necessary.
Someone brought up that scene from New Moon where Bella is sitting in front if the window and "Possibility" was playing...that is one of my favorite scenes in all the movies! Also when she jumps in the water and sees Edward and it looks all Gothic, love the look of the film. The opening scene of Eclipse is great as well. I like the darker things I guess lol!

I loved how they handled New Moon, and as much as Stewart bothers me, she NAILED that part. Depressed and moping is her forte for sure.

I agree. I thought the imprint scene was very emotional and I loved the foreshadowing of how she would look. That added truth to the whole "imprinting concept."
Jacob breaking away from the pack was an awesome scene as well. It was very effective and more intense with the wolves talking.

I left also and will just Have to go back, tough lives we have.... haha! Now I actually have an excuse to go again :) and I've never heard of "dudderhead" lol, I'll have to use that today!

And yes, New Moon is my favorite of the movies, it seemed to have darker parts which I really enjoyed. The people did good in my opinion, the Volturi scenes were good, and was quite funny. The whole look and feel was nailed by the director. I didn't care much for Eclipse except for that badass Jasper scene.

message 77: by Wanda (new)

Wanda (joeysnana) | 37 comments I believe I was at a disadvantage with seeing this movie. I re-read the book to close to seeing the movie. Overall, it was a good movie, but I was quite disappointed in some parts. For example, when Edward and Bella were leaving the wedding, in the book there's a sad, angry, frustrated wolf howl. In the movie, that howl was blended in with the music. That really disappointed me because that was an emotional part of the book.

I have to agree with the post I read earlier...the part where the wolves had just learned of Bella's pregnanacy could have been handled better.

For now, I should halt my review. I know that I'll feel differently when the movie comes to DVD and I watch it again without the book so fresh in my mind!

I will be going to see part 2 at midnight on November 16, 2012 (with my re-read completed by the end of summer.

haha yeah. I really liked Jacob in Breaking Dawn. But I'm not a fan of him ever since I read the book. Maybe that's why I didn't like New Moon that much. But in Breaking dawn part 1, I have to say I loved him there. Especially the imprinting, oh my! :)

The imprinting was awesome compared to the book. I love the voice over of Jacob. :)

message 82: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarealist) | 55 comments Yes I didn't picture Taylor Lautner to be Jacob at all, but I guess you have to embrace it when you don't have a choice. I do like how they did the imprinting Vs. the book detailed version because it is kind of creepy.
I like that they simply added "a brother, a friend" ans also showed her as his age when he saw her, that way you don't just think he is a perv. I know they had to tread lightly on that subject!!!! haha

Saw it tonight, and loved it. Think it is my favourite of the series.

Not sure there was a non-cheesey way to do the wolves talking.

Loved the dress.

Anika (teddybear1) | 318 comments Two Thumbs UP!! I loved it, didn't want it to end but I predicted to myself that was the best place to stop so that part 2 will pick up from there.

Bella looked terrible in the end, that was some special effects cause she looked like bones covered in skin. In the book the Cullens and Wolves did not fight but I like it, it made the Cullens look a bit weak though. But I will forever be team Jacob even though he and Bella never hook up.

Katie | 157 comments I liked the movie, but I think you need to read the books to understand what was going on. (My hubby kept asking questions the whhole way through)

The only bit I thought was silly was the wolves talking to each other, they sounded like transformers lol

Shannon (Savhage Temptrest) (savhagetemptress) | 330 comments Thumbs up!

I have to say that I really liked the movie probably because they really did the book justice. As the first half of the book was not my fave for obvious reasons, the movie really made me like it much better. I totally LOVED the imprinting scene! It didn't creep me out like I thought it would and it was the best part of the movie! I loved the Volturi as well. Aro is just fantastic! I cannot wait for Part 2 which comes out next year. At least Hunger Games will be out in March...
