Good luck...check out a few other lists:) Have you ever read Jonathan Kellerman? His police tales are really good, and would fit with #6.

One of the cops, Milo Sturgis, would fit the bill. I really enjoy the stories:)

Mozette | 56 comments I haven't been reading all that much... I do have my reasons and it's because I have been published as of two weeks ago! I'm published on Bibliotastic.com and my book is titled 'Graveyard Shift' by Lynda Parker... it's a free download of 5 vampire short stories based around Brisbane... with a 6th one that is totally different thrown in just to show I can write more than vampire stuff... it's an e-book and it's fun and I've had the best time getting it edited.

message 159: by Dee-Ann (last edited Jan 02, 2012 03:08PM) (new)

Dee-Ann | 644 comments I know I am not going to conquer this challenge, but have read two books which meet the first two criteria.

I have recently finished The Chelsea Girl Murderswhich was on my TBR list for a long time. It was recommended in another group as an equivalent to Janet Evanovich, but I found it not the case. Still it was an amusing read, and I did not guess who did it until near the end and I gave it 3 stars.

Today I finished Death Sentence: The Decay of Public Languagewhich was given to me by a friend. I enjoyed reading it, but never quite worked out what the solution to the problem was. I know from now on I will look on the words 'committment' and 'enhance' with similar disdain as the author of this book does.

Therefore 2 down, many to go.

1. Celebrate Australia: Death Sentence: The Decay of Public Language - READ

2. Lighten the load!: The Chelsea Girl Murders - READ

message 199: by Regan (new)

Regan (mollytornado) I am waaay behind on this challenge, since I have only just finished my first book, The Magicians by Lev Grossman. I gave it 2/5 stars, although I do wish I could have given it an extra half a star because I was intrigued by the beginning and the end of the book, but it fell away in the middle. Unfortunately, I feel that Grossman made unwise decisions that didn't benefit the story. I think Grossman lacked the eloquence to foster The Magicians in to a stronger book than what it turned out to be, since it certainly had the potential.

I have now moved on to my next book, Breakfast at Tiffany's by Truman Capote.
