June Collins (junecollins) | 114 comments Just read the book description of Travel To Your G Spot and added a 'like'. Of course, I DID like what I read and I will download a sample until I find time to read more. My memoir, Goodbye Junie Moon was released on Amazon only two weeks ago.

June Collins (junecollins) | 114 comments Hi all. I am a new author on Amazon ebooks and I am still to understand how I can offer my book, Goodbye Junie Moon, free for a couple of days. It is a memoir full of adventure, covering a period when I became a whistle blower. As most whistle blowers know, it is not always a rewarding road to take. (But I would do it again) I also co-authored The Khaki Mafia with Robin Moore (The French Connection) many years ago. My blog aite is WWW.memoirofjuniemoon.wordpress.com

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Thanks for sharing everyone! I have liked and tagged your books Steve and Kristine.

June, in order to be able to offer your ebook for free, you need to join Amazon’s KDP Select programme. In order to join, your ebook must be available exclusively on Amazon, and not other places such as Smashwords etc. You also need to join for a 90 day period and during this time, your book will be free for any Amazon Prime members to borrow from the library, and you can also offer your book for free for any 5 days during this period. I’ve just looked at your book on Amazon and it seems you might already be a KDP member. If this is the case, you can choose your free days on your bookshelf by clicking on the title and then on ‘Promotions Manager’ at the top right of the page. Let me know if this makes sense. I also added tags to your book as you didn’t have any.

Jeffrey, I always appreciate likes and tags on my book, thanks! http://www.amazon.com/dp/146376359X

Thank you, Leila! I Liked your book and also marked several of the five star reviews as helpful. It appears your story has touched many people. I can't imagine what it took for you to survive those events or what it took to publish your account of it. I hope the book is helping to bring you some sort of peace.

I appreciate your support in this forum, as I'm sure many others do, too.

My book went up on amazon this weekend and have been advising my contacts all day. I am experiencing mixed feelings of joy, excitement and fear. I have bared my soul to the world and I hope it will be kind in return. I look forward to actively participating in this generous and supportive community.

Jeff Dawson | 15 comments Good evening all,

What ever happened to your first love? How did their lives turn out? Do they ever think about the wonderful times we spent together? Those care-free days when the only thing that really mattered was walking hand in hand on long walks or hanging out with friends at the arcade. Do they remember the first date and the first kiss? Do they still remember us and what would happen if we were ever able to see each other again? Would the old feelings of the past be reignited, or would it be a simple hello, how have you been and we part paths again?
Join us for the most intense seven month "true love" one could ever have dreamed. Travel back to high school when life was so easy, so care-free and the word worry didn't exist. The chance meetings at college that at times were better forgotten. To present day when we are both trying to figure out if the feelings from the past should remain in the past or is there still something there; unfinished business. There is plenty of time to figure it all out, or is there?

message 132: by Marla (new)

Marla (mocassa) | 22 comments Done.

It never occurred to me to ask people to review/like my reviews. Mostly I see that as a sign of my clueless approach to marketing. (I only recently discovered the comments that readers can leave in response to reviews. They are quite interesting.)

Thanks for pushing me to further explore this. I can't promise I'll do something with it, but thanks. :)

So, if anyone would like to do the same with my reviews, please do

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Thanks Jeff and Marla! Add your Amazon links here for a quick way for us to get to your page and like your good reviews too!

Marla, I've just added a long list of ways to support each other under the marketing folder. Even if you don't have time to do any of them, a read through the list will give you some ideas of what you can do with your own book, and perhaps ask others to do. It all helps to create a buzz around you and your book! x

Richard I worked out how to put Kindle on desktop and purchased a book, so that I can vote/tag etc.

However, it won't let me buy on .com (USA)- keeps telling me my account registered .uk.

How can I join in the tagging and liking on .com?

And do you mean just adding to an existing tag, or creating a new one?

If I sound clueless - its because I am!

Richard, you would be correct. As a US citizen, I can't buy from any of the others stores. You should however to like and add tags, I think. I'm with you you being clueless, I do real with my computer unitl I hit the power up button. It's downhill from there.

message 139: by Leila (new)

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Thanks Margaret!

I had already liked and tagged you Marla, but I now voted yes on your good reviews.

Got your book too Jeff and voted some of your Amazon book reviews as helpful! Just to let you know, if I try to get to your book through Goodreads via the Online Stores > Amazon link, it doesn’t work.

Richard, to tag a book, you just need to check/tick each of the existing tags that you think apply to the book.

Jeff and Richard, it won’t let you buy a kindle from another store, but you should be able to buy anything else to be shipped to you. That’s the way I got to tag on Amazon UK, you need to be a customer. I bought a dvd that wasn’t available in the US and some other stuff  It’s worth it to be able to like, tag and review fellow authors. I was also able to create an Author page on Amazon UK.

Leila, you're are correct. I don't understand the problem. I tried a couple of my other books with the same result. Now I'm confused.

message 142: by Richard (new)

Richard I'm ordering a 'product' from amazon USA and then I will start liking and tagging there. I'm also adding all the author's (books) on this post to my 'to read' shelf - at the top. It will take a couple of days, as time is pretty much non-existent at the moment.

I'm hopeless at adding books to lists - just get confused with the process. Leila, please add NOT AGAIN to your new list. Then I can go on the biography forums and point them to the list.

That way I won't get jumped on for self-promotion/advertising and we can, also, all benefit from the exposure (For some reason I can't find the book by searching for not again, but it comes up with Richard von Hippel).

Patricia Costa Viglucci (patcostaviglucci) | 15 comments Can anyone tell me how to get my full name listed in Goodreads? For some reason my last name was dropped. I write under Patricia Costa Viglucci. Thank you.

message 150: by Leila (new)

Leila Summers (leilasummers) | 760 comments Hi Patricia,
I'm not sure about your full name, as I don't know what option you tried when you signed up. Which ever one you added two to, try it the other way. For example you might want to try listing Patricia Costa as your first name and Viglucci as your last name. Or you could contact Goodreads.

It's fine to talk about either your or your husband's memoir here :)
