Kate I'm reading Karen Chance's Cassandra Palmer books, and I've read a lot of reviews comparing them to the Anita Blake series (which I started but only read the first book, so I can't offer too much of a comparison).

Jeannie N. I would suggest Sherrilynn Kenyon "Darkhunter series" and Kim Harrisons "Rachel Morgan Series. I loved them all. They satisfied my craving for the fantasy and romance. I guarantee you'll get hooked!:-)

Missyb With the amount of characters and different kind of critters, Sookie Stackhous series. They both have the good and bad vampires interacting with the people of the area, and both have plenty of shapeshifters. Both have sex, romance, mystery, killing, twists, but the Sookie books are not as intense on the sex part as the Anita books are.

Sabine Augustin Loving Anita Blake. Just finished Killing Dance. Now on to the next!

Mistral's Kiss (Meredith Gentry, #5) by Laurell K. Hamilton

I'm not getting the Kitty Norvile thing. I read the first one, and it was okay, but gave up on the second one because it got to boring. I don't see how it's similiar to Anita Blake. Blake had action, sex, romance, twists, etc, but Kitty had a little action and a good twist.
I did get the third Kitty Norville book and might give that a chance. Does that series get better?

Hadessephy The Sookie Stackhouse , and Mercy Thompson series definitely exist in the same type of universe as Anita Blake. I keep waiting for a cross over book lol

Oooohh, a cross of Eric & Jean Claude would be awesome. So would Anita and Sookie teaming up. I like the way you think.

Hadessephy Thanks!!! Hopefully one of the authors will see the suggestion

Jilynda Thompson-Hennington These book are a long the lines of Anita Blake on differnt. But all of her vampire & werewolves were good.

I felt much the same about the Kitty books, although I did like the fact that as opposed to Anita's world, in the Kitty books the monsters are more human.
But they are hard to compare, Anita's trigger happy killer mentality is far too different from Kitty.

Lottie Well that's the thing, she is a one of a kind author, even if other books are as good to read once you've read LKH you just have to hope shell write a new one.
But in answer to your delema try her Merry Gentry series by LKH

I also agree. I can't believe I forgot bout that series!

Missyb Just finished the book Raphael (Vampires in America, #1) by D.B. Reynolds , the character Cynthia reminds me of Anita. She's tough, smart, realistic, respectful of what the vampires can do yet not afraid, more comfortable armed, draws the attention of the head vampire in the area and sleeps with him yet their relationship (or lack of) is not smooth.

Samantha Thank you for some new names to look for that are similar to Blake and Gentry. I am waiting for Affliction to be available at my library.

Anita I suggest you Charley Davidson Series by Darynda Jones. She is Fantaaaaaastic!!! I love Charley and her humor!!

Jeannie N. I would suggest Kim Harrison, her Rachel Morgan books, I loved them as much as I loved The Anita Blake books!!!
