Hi Sue,
I just finished Agnes and the Hitman, which took me longer than usual to finish, because I picked up Smokin' Seventeen when I was in the middle of it, and ended up reading that one in a day! I liked "Agnes" but I liked some of her other books better- I thought this one had a slow start. I picked up Carbs and Cadavers this morning and read the first chapter- I think it is going to be very good. I will set up our Buddy Read thread for that one in case anybody else wants to comment on it, too.
Thanks again for the good recommendations - I have had "Agnes" on my TBR pile for a long while, and am glad to get it finished!

Just to let you know that it looks like I will not be able to finish The Book Thief this month. I began reading it weeks ago, but had to put it down as it stirred up ..."
Okay no worries, it is quite an emotional book.

I have to admit I'm not feeling too confident about my picks this time so I can give it another go if nothing interests you.

Suzanne-
I finished [book:Love My Way this morning. I didn't love it, I didn't hate it so two stars. I figure this challenge is all about reading things we would never read otherwise and I would never have picked up this book. I thought the whole insight into the BDSM was interesting--I guess there really is something for everyone. Still hoping to read the Nalini Singh this month.

I finished Stormwalkeryesterday 11/18/11. I give it 4 stars. It was a really good story. I enjoyed the Navajo aspect of the book.

I really enjoyed Simply Sinful. Thanks for the great recommendation! I hope to get to more on the list.
Thanks!

Finished Flat-Out Sexy on 11/11/11 - loved it and have already ordered the second book in the series and recommended it to a friend & she is reading it now. 5 stars
Read Vampire Academy liked the dynamics between Lissa and Rose with their special bond. Enjoyed the sarcastic wit between Chritian and Rose. I will probably finish the series as I get to it or can fit in challanges over the next year. 3 stars
Thanks again for the rec's

It sounds like it will be good and it cracks me up that Ty can't say her name right, even after having her repeat it several times, haha

Just to let you know I finished Sugarplums and Scandal: All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth / Lords of Misrule / Ghost of Christmas Passed / Partners in Crime / Holly Go Lightly / Very Vampy Christmas - I love reading christmas books in the run up to christmas, it definitely gets me in the mood. Thanks for the recommendation I don't often read short stories but I enjoyed this one.

I was the same as you Pam! I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the book either, but it was definitely an area you hadn't read before. We can now tick it off our list as something we've read but wouldn't feel the need to explore the genre more maybe?

Did the buddy read on Minion with Ashleigh. An absolutely horrid book, but loved sharing with Ashleigh Minion.
Reading now: The Ice Princess

Debbie it's OK don't worry, I'm reading The Host for now and it's so engaging, I'm loving it. If I got time I'll read the girl with the dragon tattoo if not I'll skip it this month for another occasion.

I just finished our Buddy Read - Carbs and Cadavers. I really liked it, and once I got into it, I couldn't stop reading. I thought that in a few places there were some plot devices that were a bit hokey, but I think that will improve itself in the rest of the series entries (or so a friend who has read the whole series tells me!). I liked the idea of the group supporting each other in their weight loss efforts, and that it is a realistic look at how hard it is to lose weight, which I can attest to myself.
All in all, I thought it was a good read - thanks for recommending I read it this month, since I have had it on my shelf for a very long time.
Did you finish it yet? Were you surprised at who the killer was? Or the dynamic between some of the members of the Supper Club?

I read crossed by ally condie and i liked it will post up a review soon. Loved it more then matched and was actually suprised to learn and grow to like Xander more and more even though he was hardly in the book. it was interesting thanks

Nancy,
I did start the book last night, but I only got to page 60! I kept falling asleep last night. But so far I like the idea of the book and meeting the characters in the group. I should read a lot more today!
Sue-

I'm so glad you enjoyed Flat-Out Sexy, it is my fave of the series, but I also like Ty and Imogen's story.
Happy Reading!

Glad you liked Crossed. I still want to read Matched -I'm going to try to get to it in the new year. Too much still to read that I already have....

I just finished The Texan's Wager. It was so good. Carter was amazing. I have to read the rest of the series. Perhaps after the holiday.
I think I am going to start the Maya Banks one next.

oooh, glad to hear you are into it. It is one of those you either really like or you really don't.

I'm happy you liked it.
the McCabe trilogy is also very good.I just loved it :) ♥ ♥ ♥

I just finished Mr. Perfect and loved it. At first I didnt think I was going to like it, but I really enjoyed it. The characters in the book made me laugh a lot. Thanks for recommending it. I want to check out other books of hers now.

Nancy,
I finished Carbs & Cadavers last night. I wasn't surprised at who the killer was, although I thought it was someone else most of the time, but I was close! And I did like the dynamics of the Supper Club. I just kept thinking that I would love to have some kind of support group like that around here. It's hard to meet people and have something like that in a city the size I live in. But it sure would be nice!
Sue-

Dee, thanks for the pick! I really liked it. *Gigi finishes 2years later* Lol

I love Zero at the Bone too! If you want to read more about the guys there are a few free short stories about them on the author's website."
Thanks Fran and Dee of course, I have just seen this msg. :)

Hi Sue,
I'm glad you liked it. I really did, too, and now I am eager to read the sequels. I liked that they did things as a group, and often utilized the individual strengths of the various people in their group.
I am very lucky to have a group of friends like that in my life - we don't solve crimes, but we are supportive of each other, and try to help each other out when we can. Most of us are teachers and although I have retired and don't see my friends at school every day now, we still stay in touch frequently and feel very close emotionally to each other. I am blessed to have these wonderful women in my life - one more blessing to be counted today!

I just finished reading Outlander the night before. Surprisingly, I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Oh well, but I think I'm still gonna read the sequels. Even though it killed me reading the first book. Heh, I'm just crazy that way I guess!

I finished Very Valentine yesterday. Thank you for the pick. I enjoyed this new, to me, author very much. I will read the next one in this series. Happy Thanksgiving!

Glad that you liked it :) Valentine herself sometimes frustrates me (esp. in the second book), but I couldn't help rooting for her. Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

I'm glad to hear that!! And I hope you had a good Thanksgiving as well.
