SOLVED. YA Romance book about a girl who goes to a different time by entering a fog...? [s]

I read a book a while back about a girl who goes to live with either an Aunt or Grandmother(someone like that) and I remember that she walks into the fog at the back of her aunt or grandmothers property and when she does she enters a type of other world. She meets a boy and eventually follows him through the fog to the other side, his side. On his side it is like they are trapped back in time. But it is JUST his family and his familys home. And by staying in the fog, and not leaving the edge of the fog, they stay in that time.. frozen. I can't remember a lot of what happens. I know maybe at one point his mom gives the girl some of her clothes.. clothes that fit with that period.. and she wears them back into her time. I knwo that she eventually convinces the boy to come back with her through the fog(or maybe she doesn't convince him, maybe he leaves it on his own). The only other thing I remember is the ending. The girl wakes up in her time but not in her aunt/grandmothers home as it was when she left it.. it's a different house. And her aunt/grandmother has a husband now. It turns out that the boy she met in the fog, when he left, entered his time again and continued his life. He ended up being the one saving her aunt/grandmothers husband in the war, but died when saving him. I have been trying to find this book for a long time, and it is driving me crazy!

btw: It would've been a book for teens/young adults
