Just finished Father Mine: Zsadist and Bella's Story, my buddy read with Layla. I love Zsadist...I wish it had been longer with more details. It was a good read...3.5 - 4 stars :)

Kimmy I opened up a discussion under Dare To Read (Oct PIFM "buddy read" The Night Circus). So we can post under this when we start reading tomorrow. Happy reading! Cheryl

Jim son of Jim (formerly PhotoJim) (jim_formerly_photojim) | 5294 comments Finished The Darkest Night today. I guess it really is just Gena Showalter that I don't like. I'll see about giving a different pick a shot. Oh well, worse things have happened.

Michelle [Helen Geek] (michelle_reads_to_relax) | 63 comments Yep - Passion was not what I was expecting at all. First chapter - woop and wow. Gives a whole other meaning to battering ram... We gave up pretty early on the "this can't really happen"... I was glad for Jane's insight during the read. We had a bit of fun with the visuals we couldn't help but draw. LOL!!

So glad Nancy had me read Twenties Girl with her as my first ever buddy read. It WAS fabulous. No idea why it languished on my TBR list so long.

So much more fun read together!

message 671: by Shirley (new)

Shirley Frances (sfrancespr) | 28 comments Just finished one of my recommendations Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater .

The book in the whole wasn't that bad, but it lacked a couple of things. It had almost no dialog, just different people going on and on and on. Just keeping up with the 4 different POVs and keeping up with every single thought they were having was exhausting...not like the other books in the series.

message 672: by Iris (new)

Iris (ipro) | 277 comments Read and finished two of my PIFM.

Rock: Bunny And The Bear by Eve Langlais give it 4 stars if only because I absolutely loved the interaction between the two main characters almost enough to miss the big ole plot holes. lol

Country: What a Westmoreland Wants by Brenda Jackson 3 1/2 stars on this one. Loved the story. The male lead is so sweet and romantic you want to take him home yourself. But the Female lead was not developed as well. She made me want to take her out back, smack her a few times and tell her to grow up. lol

Now on to the next ones on the list! lol

message 673: by Kami (new)

Kami (aidansmama) | 988 comments I finished Betrayed, the second book in the House of Night series. I liked this one a bit better than the first book, Marked and gave it four stars. I am still partial to the Vampire Academy series more, but this series is growing on me.

message 674: by ~KarenH~, Moderator (new)

~KarenH~ | 11343 comments I finished Hot Head today. The story was good and it was very emotional, but I wasn't particularly fond of the author's style so I had a little trouble getting into it. Once I got past about the first 1/3 or so I liked it. Thanks, Robin O. for the recommendation!

I just finished Giving Chase (Chase Brothers, #1) by Lauren Dane this was a 2.75 star read. Almost a 3 but I didn't like a number of things. I will be continuing the series though.

I've only read the first one. I hear the rest are much better.

message 680: by Megan L (new)

Megan L Harnett | 806 comments I just finished Second Grave on the Left (Charley Davidson, #2) by Darynda Jones and I would give it 4 stars. It was good although a little frustrating. I feel like it is fille with a lot of fluff to try and the story where it needs to go. But it was highly entertaining!

In my opinion, they do get better. I didn't care too much for the first one, thought the second was better, and really liked books three through five. Plus I think the last book in the series ends with a lead in to her new series. I haven't read the new one yet, so I don't know how connected they are.

message 682: by D.G. (new)

D.G. | 4477 comments It's funny about the Demonica series. I actually liked the first book the most (I was soo in love with E) and didn't care at all for books 4 & 5 or the new series. I think it got too complicated.

Book 3 was my favorite (Wraith wasn't it?). It's always interesting to hear the different opinions everyone has on the same series. I guess that's why there are so many options out there. There really is something for everyone.

Ana I just finished Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs rated it 3 stars, but I must admit I am disappointed.. I expected more from this book..nevermind the ratings here on GR, the beginning was promising a good story. Yet, it didn't fulfill my expectations:)

Ananda, it was a three star read for me as well. I loved the pictures and the different take on things. But the story just wasn't that great.

I've just finished a buddy read, so now I have started three of your picks, and will see which one grabs me the most:
Night Circus
Here Today Gone to Maui
Agnes and the Hitman
So far I think Night Circus seems the most intriguing...
