I clicked your link to see what the book is about and I'm reposting the title as a Cover so others can see. Forever Amber by Kathleen Winsor IMHO the dress is the color of some Autumn leaves.

Evelyne | 5 comments count me in ! I will probably update along the way.

message 53: by Jennifer (new)

Jennifer (rhubarbcowreads) I'm in. I'm not going to put a count on how many I'm going to read since I have no idea.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments That's what works best for me, too, Jennifer!

message 55: by Danielle The Book Huntress , Certifiable St. Vinnie's Ninny (new)

Danielle The Book Huntress (gatadelafuente) | 3737 comments Ellen, the challenges turn out to be pretty easy. Just use your imagination, and there is a way you can get most books to fit the challenge. I always do a theme of the season, and I end up with more than enough books.

You can do it!

message 56: by Dina (last edited Sep 15, 2011 05:16PM) (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments I'm in, of course. Since I'm out of fresh ideas, I'm going to borrow Danielle's. :) I'll post as I go, as usual.

All Things Autumn Challenge
Duration: September 23 - December 21

Goal: Read 10 or more books with aspects that relate in any way to the season of autumn, including words in the title, taking place in autumn, or character names. Even if the color suggests autumn, or they involve autumnal events.

0/10 completed

1.

List of possibilities:

Pride & Passion (The Brethren Guardians, #2) by Charlotte Featherstone Unclaimed (Turner, #2) by Courtney Milan

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments OMG, DINA!!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO READ UNCLAIMED! It's sooooooooooo good!

message 58: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments Yeah, I know!!! I planned to read it right after I read your review, then my brain must have had a seizure because I forgot it. No big loss, though. I'm reading Archangel's Consort and it's pretty good so far.

message 59: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (last edited Sep 15, 2011 05:22PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Ahem, **clears throat**

I'd like to pimp make mention of the 2nd Annual Lisa's Ladies' Favorites Book List Challenge taking place here: Lisa's Ladies' Halloween Challenge

I'd also like to point out that because the books you'll be reading in THAT challenge are being read in celebration of Halloween, which occurs in a Fall Autumn month, they will easily count towards THIS challenge.

Just sayin'.....

message 60: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Oh, I need to catch up with the Guild Hunter series. I only read book 1 so far!

message 61: by Dina (last edited Sep 15, 2011 05:38PM) (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments LOL, Dhes. I was reading the rules of the Halloween Challenge while you were posting your comment and I'm ashamed to say that I didn't understand those tricky rules. I'll have another look at them later. I think my brain is too tired today... or maybe it's as good as always and I'm a hopeless case. ;P

message 62: by Adrienne Marie (new)

Adrienne Marie (adrienne0410) | 13 comments its it necessary that I read the book before unclaimed by milan?

message 63: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (last edited Sep 15, 2011 05:37PM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Dina, you're best bet is to look at my examples and Alycia has posted selections too.

Adrienne, you don't have to read the book before Unclaimed. The stories don't overlap, but you'd understand the relationship dynamic between the brothers better if you did.

message 64: by Dina (new)

Dina (missdina) | 718 comments Thanks, Dhes. I'll have a look at them. :)

P.S.: I just noticed that I'm calling you 'Dhes' now. I've always called you 'UM' before. Why did I change it? I don't know! See, my brain isn't working properly now, LOL.

message 66: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I'll put you down for 3, Adrienne :)

message 67: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I don't know, Dina. To me, Dhes is easier to type then UM, plus, I've had a few people tell me that when they see someone post UM, they think that person is saying like, Ummmm.... LOL!

message 75: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments SANDRA, I'll be waiting until tomorrow to start Envy so I can count it in this challenge -

1. Envy - (published in September)

So that's one example.

List the books you want to read, regardless of whether you think they'll fit or not, and we'll help you make them fit.

message 76: by SANDRA (new)

SANDRA (smilleysandy) | 69 comments LOL.. That's the thing.. I have no prejudice towards books. I will read w.e comes across my way.. lol.. :D

message 78: by SANDRA (new)

SANDRA (smilleysandy) | 69 comments umm how about the second book of kelly armstrong darkest powers series. lol

and the fourth book of Taming the Scotsman

:D from there I"ve no idea...

message 79: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (last edited Sep 22, 2011 11:28AM) (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Okay, I clicked on your link and I see that Taming the Scotsman was published in September, which is one of the Autumn months. Also, that shade of green on the cover kind of reminds me of Autumn because the leaves are no longer vibrant green, but are turning kind of dull.

message 80: by UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish, Your Humble Servant (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments Okay, for The Awakening I'd count that because the first letter of the title is "A" and the first letter of Autumn is "A" too.

message 81: by SANDRA (new)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish | 8001 comments I totally understand being mentally drained! And all you have to do is list a book and ask for help making it work! After awhile you'll get the hang of it :)

message 83: by SANDRA (new)

I am also listening to Ceremony in Death (In Death, #5) by J.D. Robb and it takes place in autumn and our heroine, Eve Dallas, is investigating witches. I don't know if this will culminate on All Hallows Eve or not. We'll see.

Also, thinking of listening to

No, just try to make it fit the Autumn theme. Some people are using books published in Autumn, some are using books with autumn colored covers.... make it fit however you can.

Due to life's intrusions, just like in the Spring challenge, I'm not going to put a count to my reading. Let's just say that I'm aiming to get as much reading as I can during this challenge.
