Cailaice | 1 comments Eric, reason?
Simple Bill betrayed her..... ( I don't care he made up for it later, if they do it once, well chances are they will do it again!)
Quinn only cares for his sister.
But Eric seems to care for her, sure he likes to mess with her a bit and stay in control..... But hey he is sexy as hellll, and he saved sookie way more than Bill ever did. In fact Bill if I remember right only took blood from her ( helped him know her emotions), but Eric?
He gave his blood to her to, so he gets extra points in my books.

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments Bill's betrayal was ultimately setup by Eric so he could have Sookie. Thus, I hold Eric responsible.

I agree, Eric had a huge role in that whole thing that I think a lot of people forget about.
Yes Bill was still not honest about it but Eric had a hand in it all the way.

Julie | 51 comments I'm a little confused by some of the answers in this discussion. I can't tell if people are talking about the book or tv show or are getting them confused.

I've always been for Eric!!! But after reading Dead Reckoning, I'm not sure that's the way it's going to play out.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I haven't watched the tv show, I have only read the books if that helps at all Julie! :)

If you are referring to Eric's role in the whole Bill thing and his maker, a lot of that was revealed in the anthology books and the Companion Book.

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments Anything I refer to is the book series. I have seen the show but I sort of have in my head that the book is the " real" or true version. Also, this IS Goodreads. LOL
The companion book isn't written by Charlaine Harris, I don't think. Those letters are someone else's ideas. Right?

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments Yeah, she wrote some of the info in there but the letters and back and forth messages between Eric and Bill were written by someone else but I think she printed them because she liked them and I am guessing because they came close to something she would have done.

message 209: by Jana (new)

Jana | 6 comments I haven't read the companion book but I was under the impression that Bill's betrayal was setup by the Queen (it was a secret mission), and Eric just made sure that Sookie found out about it. Right?

message 210: by Danielle (new)

Danielle For the longest time I would have said Eric but I couldn't even tell you what happened in the last book. It think the series has just been dragged out too much and needs to end. I wasn't even excited about the last book. I was totally fine with waiting my turn for a copy at the library.

That was the same impression I had as well but I haven't read the companion book either.

message 212: by Rosebud (new)

Rosebud (rosebuds) Why should she choose. She should end up with both. I would be happy if she ended up with Eric but have secretly wanted the final ending to be shocking and she gets both.

TJ (soxchic) | 55 comments I loved Quinn!

He was following orders from the queen and he did have to obey his sire but Eric had a hand in setting him up and letting Sookie know what was going on and getting in the middle of it.
Ultimately it was still Bill's betrayal but Eric didn't make it any better. He made it seem worse than it was really.

message 215: by Jana (new)

Jana | 6 comments But once Bill started to fall in love with Sookie he should have told her before Eric had the chance to.

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I agree Jana. He did a lot of things wrong but I also think he has done some good things since then too and I do believe he loves her.

message 217: by PM (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments Exactly, Mlpmom, exactly.

message 218: by Jana (new)

Jana | 6 comments I agree that he loves her as well, and that he was probably in a lose, lose situation. I just didn't agree that Eric had a part in Bill's Betrayal other than bringing it to light.

message 219: by PM (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments I'd have to look back at that book, it has been a while, but I seem to remember SOMETHING that made me think he told the Queen about Bill or told Bill's sire where Bill was, (maybe because as Bill's boss the contact had to go through him?) or something that made me think he had more of a hand in it than just telling Sookie (without explaining that Bill had no choice other than to follow the orders of his sire).

Mlpmom (Book Reviewer) (mlpmombookreviewer) | 839 comments I am pretty sure you are right PM. I think he either told the queen to use Bill or told her about him or something like that.

message 221: by Jana (new)

Jana | 6 comments Yeah, its been a while since I read it too. But I thought the whole secret mission meant that he didn't report to Eric but directly to the Queen.

message 222: by Julie (new)

Julie | 51 comments In the tv show Eric conspires with the queen and brings Bill's maker into it. But in the books, it was Bill that was working with her. I also agree that Bill has proven that he loves her and has made up for the betrayal.

message 223: by Missyb (new)

Missyb | 493 comments I'd have her with Eric. She's been with him for so many books now & it fits, they work. I've nver liked the idea of her & Sam, and it seemed forced between her & Alcide (could have been their circumstances), but a great twist would be for her to leave town with a faerie.

message 224: by Stacie (new)

Stacie H. (staciemh) | 75 comments I can't see Sookie with any of the guys.
Eric and Alcide tend to use Sookie for dominance games. Bill loves her but I don't think Sookie can totally trust him again after his betrayal. Sam and Sookie always will be only friends; they kind of had their chance in the beginning, but Sookie has changed too much from who she was in the beginning of the series. Quinn and Sookie are well over. Remy and Sookie are family - plus didn't he find a girl that Hunter liked a lot? Maybe just maybe there will be a fairy (like the one from the short Christmas story who pretended to be the werewolf?), but I kind of doubt it. I also doubt that she will use the gift to turn Bill or Eric human as was suggested because she would then hear their thoughts, which was why she liked vampires in the first place. I can just see her content on her own, away from the supernatural drama.

message 225: by PM (new)

PM (personalmiracle) | 242 comments I agree with you Stacie, with the exception that I believe she will be doing something with Hunter. I think Harris has shown that Sookie cares deeply about him learning to deal with his "gift" and I think Sookie will take his care and training on as her purpose in life.

Nataliya I think I have to go with Eric :)

Julie Clay horton | 1 comments I have read them expect for the new ones. I'm going with Alcide or Bill. I can't wait for the new one coming in May.

message 231: by Stacie (new)

Stacie H. (staciemh) | 75 comments @PM, Sookie will definitely continue to train Hunter and take care of him. He is her family. All I was saying was that she was not going to become romantically involved with Hunter's father, Remy.

Erin *Proud Book Hoarder* (erinpaperbackstash) I hope she can somehow end up with Eric.

I tend to agree with you. Though I love Eric (despite his faults), I think Sookie should and *hopefully* will choose to be on her own at the end of the series. She should understand that she can be a strong, independent woman, without relying on a man to take care of her. Somehow though, I don't think that Harris will bother to make this point.
