Oddrun I love fluffy bumblebees.

So what is it called and where/how did you look it up...I have many bugs that need identifiying

I went fishing this weekend for the 2nd time in my life.
Instead of worms we used crawfish and something called a Helgramite.
Gahhhh!
It took me half an hour to bait my hook each time because the guy who showed me how kept saying
"careful, they'll peench you!"
but you had to stick the hook right through the back of their head and all the time their little feet are clawing at you and their mandibles are a pinchin'!

Apparently they only attack tarantulas, so they probably keep your local tarantula population under controll-- probably not more than a couple of dozen of the things per acre or so where you live.

Where are you in WV, if you don't mind my asking?
I got a kick out of Harper's Ferry.

My boss will be here in minutes, but I like to do investigative googling like "red bug with blue wings" until I see the bastard that I'm looking for.
Also, this one doesn't eat Tarantulas. Something about Wolf spiders? What are wolf spiders?
Smetch, I'm investigating those weird yellow things. I think they might just be fancy.
Anyone care to help me find a link between this bug and the car business for when my internet history is pulled??

I'll bet you anything it's completely harmless but evolution has given it a leg up in the don't-touch-me looks department. It looks all waspy with long pointy things coming out of it's butt and bright blue wings. What's the point of bright blue wings except to say: "stay away or I will put one hell of a motherfucking hurtin' on you."
I guess I could probably google it and come up with a much better photo, but I knew you'd rather see the one I took with my phone of a dying one at the playground.
