Don't I know it!! But I can't ever seem to get over it. I know I've read way too many books with drop dead covers that have killed a bit of my reading spirit.In fact my favorite sereis have ugly or average covers.

This cover makes me sleepy. Not really a fan.
I know this one's not all that different from the other "pretty" covers but I like it.
It is a very sleepy dreamy cover. Doesn't feel particularly oppressive.
The face looks like Claire from LOST out in the jungle.
The face actually reminds me of Jennifer Lawrence...

I could see that too. I tried to find some of Emilie's face at the same angle as the book cover, but couldn't. Her features are so similar.

This one is more interesting than the last.
She does look like Emily. =)Have you read anymore Beautiful Creatures books after book 2? I totally gave up on that series but I like the covers.

I haven't read book 3. I don't know if I've given up on the series, but I have temporarily stalled out after being extremely disappointed in book 2. One day I will force myself to have a month where I do nothing but catch up on half-finished series. There was a partial attempt to try last December but not much happened.I like this cover.

I assumed it was a girl kissing a guy's neck. The eye was on the shoulder and his back was to us.

I want to read Breathe for a very random reason. It reminds me of a book I read as a child where people lived on the moon under a bubble.
But I do so like the all of the pretty purple shades.
It's very cool looking. Sci/fi is really making a comeback in the YA genre.
Now we just need some more space sci-fi and I'll be happy. :)
Very pretty, but I like the previous book's cover better.
Those covers are so beautiful. I hadn't heard of them yet.

This cover is not really note-worthy in a good or bad way. I just wanted an excuse to say that there's a "Rose-and-Dimitri-in-Russia short story" inside according to Ms. Mead. Just noticed there's a Laini Taylor one as well. Wonder what it is?

Debbie, I'm going to go ahead and delete your post. Because you've only made 2 posts in this group and both of them are about your book, I think it's pretty safe to say that linking to your book with a question about the cover is a mild form of self-promotion.We welcome author promotions in this group but request that they are kept to the authors and promotions folder.
If my post came across as harsh, it was not my intention. We have always taken the stance that author promotions need to be fair and equal for everyone. If I let this post stay, then we have to be fair and allow all of the authors a chance to post their books and ask for opinions in this topic as well. If you'd like to re-post the same question in the authors folder, I don't think anyone would have a problem with that.

I added the book too! If you browse the book's page, most people have commented on how excited they are to read a Rose and Dimitri story. Can't say I blame them since its the reason I added it too! lol

Oh that's just awesome. If I was younger, I'd want that as a poster. hell, frame it and I want it now.
That cover would make a great poster. I have a little boy and I wouldn't mind snagging it as wall art for him. There's just something interesting about children's book covers. The creativity is much more evident.
I thought these two stood out.
The title font and twinkly stars add a nice touch to a dark cover.
This one feels vintage.

Hmm the cover is ok, however I'll probably buy it as I'm excited to read about Rose and Dimitri.
Though I love the Georgina Kincaid series, wth do they have such awful covers? Succubus Dreams
Oh and the Shadow Heir book, they have Eugenie as a brunette, yet she's a red head in the series..?

Welcome to the group Vanessa. :)Oh don't get me started on the GK covers. Love the books - hate the covers! The hair color is off for all of the leads on all of Mead's covers. That's a pet peeve of mine too.
Probably one of my least favorite series covers, for sure.
Yeah, they make you want to cover them with a brown paper bag a la school books back in the day...that way you don't get dubious looks when you say they are really awesome books! LOL

Seriously, Carina! The first thing I thought when I saw it was, "Fallen!" lol While pretty(b/c I love shades of gray), it's not unique no matter what they try to say to convince me otherwise.
