The slang was very offputting at first (klunk, shuckface, etc.) and I almost stopped reading after a few chapters of it, but once the book got to the point where the characters were actually in the maze, I was hooked.
The second book has me wondering who is good and bad now because it seems like characters are getting flipped.

I just now realized that it is very close until the 3rd book comes out. This is one of the only series left that I still own in hardcover, so I suppose I will be purchasing it through Amazon.
Maree, I can sort of understand where you're coming from. The second book sort of did lose some of the magic because they weren't in the maze anymore, and that's part of why I read the first book to begin with. It did feel a little bit like there weren't any answers given to anything in book 2.
The new girl in the second book sort of intrigued me though. At this point I don't know if Teresa is good or bad, so this other person coming in and causing trouble has me confused as to whose intentions are on the honorable side.

However I was very disappointed in

Hahaha! I do that too.

I'd like to see your thoughts on book 3 hahaha. I need to read the Kill Order as well.

That's good! I thought I might be the only one.

Please remember to spoiler tag (or at least shout out the word spoiler if you struggle with tags) MAJOR, game-changing spoilers. If you're randomly chatting about characters buying groceries or some other plot point that isn't any sort of huge reveal, you don't have to tag this stuff. We're only looking to hide things that could ruin the book for someone.
Because we use our topics for the entire series, please use a tag and let us know if you're referring to something from books 2 and 3 which could happen to spoil book 1 for people who haven't caught up yet.
Here's how you make a spoiler tag, in case you didn't know!

Also, feel free to stop into our fantasy casting topic and give us your ideas for you who think looks like your vision of the book's characters. You can find it here : http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/9...

I did put the second one on hold at the library so I am planning on continuing with the series.
One question, though I realize it's a little late, I see now there's a prequel. Is this the type of prequel those who have read would recommend reading before or after Maze Runner?

I would, yeah. I haven't read the 3rd book or prequel yet, but there are so many questions in the trilogy that I don't think reading the prequel first would be a good idea if you want to keep the mystery and suspense more intact.

Okay. I will have to check my library for it.

It is frustrating, all the secrets, but the action more than makes up for it.
