I remember really liking Water for Elephants when I read it (didn't write a review so I cannot say particulars.)

It was the sort of book I wouldn't read in paperback, but great on audio... I gave it 4 stars.

Oh sounds really interesting. But too intense for me. I would not want to let anyone down. I read too slowly.
Jessica - I read one you selected from my TBR pile, The Mating by Nicky Charles. Really glad you suggested this for me. Good book. I downloaded the next two in the series, so have added to my TBR pile! Thanks for the GREAT picks.
Daffodil,I finished Reckless today. Over all, it was good. I am picking up two others from the library that you recommended. The first one that I will start is....Touched by an Alien. I can't wait to try it.
Sandy,I finished Glory in Death and the went straight on and finished the next one, Immortal in Death. Thanks for getting me moving on them!
I just finished Cover of Darkness (Suspense Series, #2), and loved it - thanks for the recommendation, Lauren! Kaylea Cross is quickly becoming one of my new favorite authors.
True, that. I need to continue the Mercy Thompson series though since I loved the Alpha & Omega series. Too bad the third one is so slooow in coming out.D.G. ~Shameless Hussy~ wrote: "To each their own, Vi. I've enjoyed the BDB but I've been reading it at a leisurely pace. Not so crazy about it that I've read them back to back.
Mercy Thompson is my favorite UF series, bar none."

D.G., if you're into audio books, try Magic Bites in that format. The narrator does 'snarky' very, very well. She made laugh out loud :D
I'll second the rec for the the audio version of Magic Bites. Took me a couple of chapters to get into it but then... boy was it good.Halfway to the Grave however I'm still struggling with...
Tania, I couldn't stand the narrator for Halfway to the Grave. I thought she made Cat sound like a little girl, wuss imbecile. Granted she was a bit immature in the first book, but she was still kick-ass. Ok, I guess I have strong feelings about that one...

Hi Hey There Delilah!!
Thanks for the great recommendation! I finished reading [book:Angels' Blood. No wonder it's your favorite! I really enjoyed it. I already love Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series and now I love the Guild Hunter series too. I liked Elena's sarcastic sense of humor and the dark past that she still struggle against. She's strong but sensible when she knows she needs help. Raphael's all hotness and arrogance :) I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
Do you want to do a buddy read with Lord of the Vampires? It would fit into my September Paranormal Romance reading challenge.

Good choice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Be warned that you should not read it in public. You may burst out laughing and people around you will look at you like are crazy :D

I've tried reading the book but that characterisation is still stuck in my head so I guess I'll give it a little while longer.
Great, glad you liked it! :)Elke wrote: "Victoria,
Ok I finished The Book of Scandal and I liked it. Thanks again for the picks!"

Finished reading

.It was sweet, sexy and fun- I loved it! Thanks for the rec.
Melanie, I plan on getting to one of yours this month too.
I finished Eternal Kiss of Darkness today, another great entry in the Night Huntress world. I've enjoyed the "spinoff" books, but I'm looking forward to getting back to more of Cat and Bones! Thanks for the rec, Lauren!

Just finished my second recommendation for this month First Grave on the Right. Three and 1/2 stars--can't wait to read the next one! Thanks Helen F. Liked it better than Magic Bites.
Coffeentea wrote:Autumn,Good choice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Be warned that you should not read it in public. You may burst out laughing and people around you will look at you like are crazy :D "LOL ohh... they already think that way!! :p
Brett, just finished
and absolutely loved it. I can't believe that I've never read any Kresley Cole, but that will be remedied. It was a very different from other PNR that I have read which was greatly appreciated. I really liked Laichlan as a hero. It's interesting how she has reversed some male/female characteristics. Usually that bugs me a little as I'm not really fond of bitchy female characters. But I liked these women (after awhile) and I liked the growth of Emmaline. Thanks for this pick!
I finished Beyond the Highland Mist as a buddy read. I loved it. Maybe not as much as her Fever series, but still a very good start
Michelle,I finished Wild Card last night and I have to say, I'm just not a Lora Leigh fan, I'll have to get all her stuff off my TBR. The book was FAR too long and I didn't really like any of the characters.
I'm going to try Dangerous Lover so that I can read Dangerous Secrets before the month is out.
Thanks again for all the recs (that'll teach me to pick something from my TBR, hee).
Valerie wrote: "Cheryl wrote: "Hi Valerie, I had a blast going through your TBR list and added a few more to mine. Thanks, here are the ones I picked for you:From your TBR:

Valerie,
I finally have my copy of [book:Persuasion if you want to get started on our "buddy read".
I finished The Search by Nora Roberts. I really enjoyed it and gave it 4 stars. I liked the quirkiness of both of the two main characters. I thought that Simon's bluntness was refreshing and annoying! I liked that the stepmom was sweet and not evil! I loved the dogs and the training. Great book. Thanks AshleyAlexis for pushing me to read it!I'm going to read Intertwined next.
Leslie wrote: "Brett, just finished

I finished Garden Spell by Sarah Addison Allen. This is the second book by her that i've read, I have Loved them both =)
Just Finished One for the Money - I thought it was a fun book. Here is my review:http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...
Daffodil,I just finished Touched by an Alien. You made an excellent choice by suggesting this book for me. It is my first official "Sci-Fi". I didn't know what to expect and was starting to worry that it would be terrible because you weren't sure I'd like it as my introduction to this genre. Well.......it was just as you said - hilarious! I love a sarcastic sense of humor. I was laughing out loud and wanted to explain to my husband what was so funny, but how do you explain this book?! Anyway, thanks for this pick. If you have others you recommend in this category like this one, please give me the titles. I'm now going to start The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie.
Hi CaroB,I finished my first pick of the month, Bet Me by Jennifer Crusie on 9/11. I loved this book! It took a little while for me to get into it but once the story got going I couldn't put it down. Thanks for the recommendation. On to my next pick!
Megan

Glad to hear Megan!! I hope you like the others just as much :-)
I just finished Halfway to the Grave and I loved it! It's definately a 5 star book and I think I've found my Anita Blake replacement!
I forgot to post that I finished The Princess Bride, a buddy read with Dee. I'm think I'm with the camp that thinks that the movie is better than the book. Regardless, I'm glad I read it...it's been on my TBR for a while!
Hi, Dee. I just finished I Am the Messenger and I loved it. It's such a wonderful book with enough tension to keep you on edge but it is also endearing in its own way. Thanks for the rec. :)
I finished up Fatal Shadows last night which was recommended to me by DG - really enjoyed it and looking forward to the next one and seeing what happens between Adrien and Riordan
