Just read/Currently reading/About to read
Finished Waiting for Gertrude: A Graveyard Gothic and it was really a nice and funny read (check out my reading journey 2013 thread if you want to know more about it).I think I will start Bébert, il gatto di Louis-Ferdinand Céline and I have seen only now that there isn't an English edtition. The title is "Bébert, the cat of Louis-Ferdinand Céline" though I have yet not read something by him (I have heard good opinions about his Journey to the End of the Night but must still read it).
The Great gatsby done and dusted. 3/5 My review http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/....
Started with Chronicle of a Death Foretold
Currently reading Bridge of Birds: A Novel of an Ancient China That Never Wasand then i might read Middlesex and The Tales of The Otori...

Yeah, I agree with you. But it is a good read. What I loved the most was the way each and every sentence was written, like a moving picture, happening right in front of you :)
Two very amazing books on my book shelf : The Book thief written by Maarkus Zusak. And the other one is a very engaging and wonderful children's fantasy book on the parallels of Alice in the wonderland which I am reading to my younger sister by the name The Phantom Tollbooth. Highly recommend both.

Oh absolutely , I was completely blown away by the writing. Meticulous , precise and beautiful writing
I started reading India. Cinque racconti, sei reportage, tre fumetti and I don't know if there is an English edition. It is a collection of short stories by Indian authors and I am discovering really good authors!
For example Chandrahas Choudhury, his short story "Clouds" is wonderful! I have looked for his blog: http://middlestage.blogspot.it/ I hope to find his books translated!
I liked also Altaf Tyrewala.
Lit Bug wrote: "@Rags - done with Moor's? Am waiting for a review... :)"Ah no , I was busy with work over the weekend. Couldn't go further. At around 200 page. Hoping to finish it soon :)

Smitha wrote: "dely, if possible can you let me know the english translation? haven't heard of these authors at all!"I don't know if there is an English translation because the editor is an Italian who lives in India. I think she has also translated from the original English.
I could find only this one India Shining India Changing by the same editor but I don't know if it has the same stories.
Just read - "The Day I Stopped Drinking Milk by Sudha Murty". About to read - "Some One Like You" by Nikita Singh and Durjoy Dutta.
After that - "The Litigators" by John Grisham.
I started reading A Girl Called Jules by Milena Milani. It's her second book I read and this author isn't bad. Like in her other book the main character is a girl who wants to detach herself from the public opinion; she wants to be and feel free. The book is set in Italy during WWII though the war isn't important but the mentality of the people of that time is in order to understand better the book. Milena Milani couldn't publish this book in the '60 in Italy and she was denounced for obscenity and indecency (but there is nothing explicit!). She had to flee in France and there her book was published.
Just Read: Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman…. It was an okayish book considering the rave reviews that it had got, I had expected something that blows my mind. It’s not a bad book but not up to the hype. 3/5About to read: The Castle of Otranto by Horace Walpole
After that: Chanakya’s Chant by Ashwin Sanghi

Finished Inferno by Dan Brown. 4/5. Here's my review of it. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...About to start Dead Famous by Ben Elton.
The Motorcycle DiariesA simple read so far.. And no deep insights into life.. Just green forests , dusty roads and motorcycle accidents.. Hope the next few pages will be more fruitful..
I'm finally getting around to Vikram Chandra's Sacred Games. It's almost as large as Vikram Seth's A Suitable Boy, possibly the longest Indian book I've read. So far, I'm enjoying it. I think it could have been shorter, though.
I started reading Journey to the End of the Night but I want to read also Hateship, Friendship, Courtship, Loveship, Marriage: Stories by the nobel prize winner Alice Munro. Her ebooks are discounted on amazon (at least amazon Italy) and if I will like this book I want to buy others before the discounts finish!
Skylar wrote: "Alice Munroe is well known. I too am planning to read her books"I had never heard of her before the Nobel prize :/
Oh dear, dely! Please read her, she's amazing, especially read 'The Color Purple' and 'The Temple My Familiar'. She's one of the most, most gifted writers ever.
Lit Bug wrote: "Oh dear, dely! Please read her, she's amazing, especially read 'The Color Purple' and 'The Temple My Familiar'. She's one of the most, most gifted writers ever."Not Alice Walker, Alice Munro.
Lit Bug wrote: "Yikes, what did I just do!Sorry, go for Runaway and 'Dear Life:Stories' as well!"
Don't worry :D
I have added to my wishlist Too Much Happiness, Who Do You Think You Are? and The Love of a Good Woman.
Read 'Veronika decides to die' by Paulo Coelho. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be.Currently reading 'The idiot'
I am in the middle of Haruki Marukami's The wind-up bird chronicle. I awfully need to discuss it with a fellow reader since it has left a few really haunting questions unanswered.
I think we had a group discussion about it earlier on. It was an interesting book, my first and only read by Murakami.
I have unfortunately not been a part of the discussion. Never mind, I am hoping to find more clarity as I progress with the book.

Arushi, if you go on the bottom of the group homepage you can see all the books who have been read. Click on "view" and a new page opens and at the top you see "Group Book Reads" and click on it. In the new page you can see all the books that have been read and you must look only for the one that interests you.

I have read yesterday a short play in two acts, The Physicists by Friedrich Dürrenmatt; now I will continue Journey to the End of the Night but it is a slow and difficult read :(

Oh good hope you like it. Currently reading Moor's last sigh after your strong recommendation. I am loving it . Rushdie's wit and satire has me in laughing fits.
