Just read/Currently reading/About to read
I too feel like reading this now. But too many books, too little time (if I had a gravestone, I would have asked these words to be inscribed :D)
LOL.. :DThis is a really small book,Col.
Around 180 pages. Probably you can read it in a sitting.
As the book is in a conversation format, you can probably go for an audiobook also.

Lakshmi wrote: "Currently reading The Book thief by Markus Zusak"I loved the book when i read it. I'll be rereading it this year.Hope you'll like it
better tone down the expectations- in my experience whenever something comes highly recommended it tends to disappoint :(

I liked Perineum. Had read it three years back. The latest book I really liked from the ten odd ones I have read is The Other Side by Faraaz Kazi. It's a fresh change in terms of the kinds of books being published today. This one is horror, pure horror in short-story format.

I loved Lolita and liked also a lot Norwegian Wood!
dely wrote: I loved Lolita and liked also a lot Norwegian Wood!I have mixed views about Norwegian Wood to be honest.. its written beautifully, with some of the most romantic quotes I have come across and Haruki Murakami is definitely amongst the finest writer I have witnessed so far.. but the story of Norwegian Wood somewhere feels like moving around in circles with a stop-and-start progress.
But everyone must read Haruki Murakami for sure.. to just feel his beautiful exposition of things / nature / emotions via prose.
Lolita is something I am genuinely looking forward to.. heard a lot about it and it seems like a real treat. I can see you have given it 5 Stars, urging me to look forward to it even more. :D

Have you read his other works ?

Me too, I liked Murakami's prose but I hadn't that feeling of moving in circles. I found it a little bit gloomy and depressing but liked it. I will surely read more by him.
I hope you will like Lolita as I did!

This was my first Murakami book as well.. but from what I hear his Kafka on the Shore is an awesome book (probably even better than Norwegian Wood).. I hope you get a chance to read that.
I plan to start Lolita over the weekend, so hoping for a great time reading it. Will ofcourse update here as I proceed.
Meanwhile, I am reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and that too is coming across as one terrifically written book with a very interesting story-line, so far. Happen to have read it ?
Apoorv wrote: "Meanwhile, I am reading The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time and that too is coming across as one terrifically written book with a very interesting story-line, so far. Happen to have read it ? ..."No, I have never read it. I don't think it's my kind of book.
Rushika wrote: "@apoorv Lolita is brilliantly written ! Nabokov had me at " you can always count on a murderer for a fancy prose style" !"Oh dear ! Now this is making me even more excited about the book, Rushika.
One of my friends, whose opinion about books is something I respect, said something very interesting as a lead-up to the book. She said, 'Be prepared to meet the most misleading villain ever' and then now your statement. Damn ! Looking forward now.
Rushika wrote: "@apoorv this book is so disturbingly dark and twisted it will blow your mind lol fantastic piece of literature! You are sure to enjoy it , if you like books of the same genre :-P"Oh damn Rushika ! Are you scaring me or urging me to read ? :P
But I appreciate your descriptions and I am looking forward to start reading it more than ever before. Will definitely catch up with you if I survive the onslaught of this dark and twisted book. :D ;)

Interesting so far..
Even though I have my reservations against someone telling every tiny detail of his life to an absolute stranger,a foreigner to boot;I am willing to wait till the end to know what this is all about.
