Rachel Tsoumbakos (racheltsoumbakos) Paperback is on it's way, just not yet :-)

message 53: by Lynn (new)

Lynn Hardy (lynnhardy) I know it's bad form to nominate your own work, but there are some special circumstance.

Prophecy of the Flame has been picked up for a movie, TBR in 2013.

Okay, it's not like Spielberg called. 100% of the proceeds from this book goes to helping homeless families with children. So this is like a "Farm Aid" type of project.

If you are interested in that stuff, there's lots of info at my facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/ProphecyOfThe...

I'm sorry, but it says in the introduction that authors may not nominate their own work.

You may post your book in the 'Authors' folder.

message 57: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I'd like to nominate a classic, Three Hearts and Three Lions by Poul Anderson. A friend's review recently got me re-reading another of his fantasies, The Broken Sword, & I'm once again amazed by how good a tale he spins.

message 58: by Lisa (new)

Lisa Black Numbers by Dean Lappi.

message 59: by Michael (new)

Michael I will second The Eye of the Crystal Ball by T. P. Boje.

The Eye of the Crystal Ball by T.P. Boje

Connie Jasperson (cjjasp) I will second Brother Betrayed http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/11... by indie author Danielle Raver. I have read it and reviewed it. It is a truly great epic fantasy.

message 70: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth Baxter (smallblondehippy) I'd like to nominate The Chosen by Ricardo Pinto. It's a highly original and thought provoking fantasy. I've never read anything quite like it.

I'd second The Chosen, definitely a different sort of fantasy.

message 72: by Marilyn (new)

Marilyn | 44 comments I just looked at Amazon.com and they, or rather third party sellers, have a total of 51 books available of The Chosen by Ricardo Pinto. It is not on the Kindle yet. I thought I saw somewhere that there were 246 views here, I do not know how many members. If the "Chosen" is truly "chosen, is there a better place to look for this book. I just joined this group and I don't want to be evicted so soon for not reading the book of the month.

Not reading the book of the month won't get you evicted. Perhaps the library has it? I have a used copy I bought a while back and it's in my TBR pile.

Okay. I believe the nominator said it is stand alone, but I can take it off the list.

Sandra (sleo) | 1913 comments Marilyn wrote: "Bonjour Helene-I see you are in France. The Kindle is not available in the US yet."

You mean the kindle edition is not available in the US.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 772 comments I've read the The Bookman but never went on to Camera Obscura. The BookmanThe Bookman does set up Camera Obscura. Or at least mentions. I assume the nominator was simply unaware of The Bookman.

Mike (the Paladin) (thepaladin) | 772 comments Oh! unless they had a different Camera Obscura in mind, there are a few books with the title...

Same boat your in man, I told everybody and their grandma about that series and got the cold shoulder. Now its all the rage. HBO blasted a decent series to epic status. I second Little, Big. Always wanted to read it.

message 86: by Deedee (new)

Deedee I've been meaning to read the following for some time now:
A Clash of Kings *
The Once and Future King*
Little, Big*
The Bookman

And I'll be reading A Clash of Kings for sure in September. If The Once and Future King*, Little, Big*, or The Bookman are the BOTM, I'll read that one in September as well.

Not sure if the above counts as a "seconding", but there it is for what it's worth :0)

message 87: by Priscilla (new)

Priscilla VdL (dunnopris) I'd say The Eye of the world by Robert Jordan :).. so yes i second this one.

message 88: by Jim (new)

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I found the first 4 books of Game of Thrones on Amazon for sale for $20 today & have them coming my way. That's cheaper than the 5th book is on its own.

I nominated Camera Obscura because The Bookman isn't available in Kindle format, so after looking at the reviews I went straight to Camera Obscura. The reviews claim it is different characters in the same world (which no doubt requires a sub-rule which doesn't exist yet to determine whether it's eligible).

Veronika KaoruSaionji I would like to nominate City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments #1) by Cassandra Clare.

These Kindle editions are incredible! Too often I'm deprived of an e-book which "is not available in your country" and, now, you say I can get the book and you can't! In French, we use the expression "to walk on one's head", I don't know the american equivalent but there it is...

Books do not have to be available on kindle to be eligible for nomination. Books that are ONLY available on kindle or as ebooks are not available because not everyone has availability to that format.

Ah, no, I meant that I bought Camera Obscura, but not The Bookman (I'll still buy in paper, but I have to want it more :). But no matter - there's plenty of other things nominated.
