oh, good one Maggie. been wanting to read that series for a while now. although i thought that the series actually started with Shards of Honour. at least that is how that book is listed.

yup Mark-but Shards of Homor is actually about how Mile's parents met, and their story. Its also a lot harder to find! Most people start where Miles starts...lol

I would like to nominate On Basilisk Station by David Weber. I've been wanting to read this for some time now. I've heard mixed reviews.

It's one of my all time favorites and I've decided it's time for a reread and would love some company along the way.

I would like to nominate The Gods Themselves by Isaac Asimov.

I will nominate The Child Garden by Geoff Ryman. Even though it won both the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award and is also included in the SF Masterworks series, surprisingly few people seem to have even heard of it. I've read that it's quite innovative and imaginative.
