And it's shallow, but his prose is so un-stylized. And his characters/work completely lack any self/meta-introspection.
Now going to start either Tigana or Across the Nightingale Floor. Or try and finally finish Zero The Biography of a Dangerous Idea or my ee cummings's poetry selection.

Finished The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane and now on to The Great Gatsby which is one of those books I'm surprised I never ended up reading!

Kelly, that sounds like a book that I'd like too! You'll have to let us know if it's good.

I agree about the comment on Nicolas Sparks. I am not a fan.

Now, I'm putting three books to the 50 pg. test:
The Forever War, which was recommended to me by a dear friend
Ceremony, which I've heard great things about.
The Book of Lost Things, which I've been dying to read for months--it finally came in at the library!

I'm still reading The Unabridged Journals of Sylvia Plath. Some parts of this are extremely depressing and I have to set it down for a few days before picking it up again.

I'm going to have to read Cry, the Beloved Country. I've been hearing such good things about it!

I really love it so far! I am glad though that I never had to read this for any class--I always have a tendency to dislike books I read for school.

How many Peter books are there? I was lent one from a friend, but had no idea it was a series. I may have to stop by the toy store.

Now I'm starting Dracula and it will be the first book read on my new nook which I'm excited about. :)

I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed Death with Interruptions! I've been thinking about reading it soon!

Its a very engaging read once you get used to his punctuation oddities and the unbelievably long sentences. :)

I just finished today and it was SO good. It gets a little historically inaccurate at times, but it shows a side of Henry that history doesn't really recognize. It's really long, but really enjoyable.

Just finished The Great Gatsby last night and now I'm on to a book I won through the Goodreads giveaway program--Gemma

I loved The Bell Jar too! I'm going to reread it this year. And her journals are amazing!

That's one I have been meaning to read but haven't yet. Let me know how it is!

I plan on starting The Alchemist after I finish A Tree Grows in Brooklyn. I'm excited to see what I think of it. I hear you either love or hate Paulo Coelho.

I just began Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister. It's my last library book I have, and after its returned I can begin on all my books I got for Christmas.
I am an odd one then. I don't Hate Paulo Coelho, but I don't love him either. The only thing I have read that he has written was the Alchemist, and it was a so so book. Definitely not my favorite, but also not the worst. I am going to try at least one more by him before forming an opinion. Stress the word try. :)
