I buy books from Amazon (generally used) or I head to the city to my favorite used bookstore. Where I live there are no good bookstores. I try to avoid the big bookstores, it's so impersonal.
I bought Artful by Ali Smith, a Victoria Thompson Gaslight mystery, The Constant Gardner-le Carre, Purple Hibiscus - Chimamanda Adichie, An event in autumn - Henning Mankell, Malice - K. Higashino, The opium war - Julia Lovell last week.
Andrea, I heard White is for Witching was very good. I'd love to hear your thoughts when you finish!
My latest buys are The Diary of a Young Girl, Jane Eyre, Frankenstein, Rebecca. I am still waiting on The Poe Reader
I just bought The Girl on the Train, Dubliners and a Charles Todd mystery. I buy four or five books every month.

Melksham, I was so impressed with Half of a yellow sun and Adichie 's speech on TED that I bought Purple Hibiscus. John le Carre of course is an old favourite.
Sonali wrote: "I am so sorry Melissa, darn auto-correct changed your name. I beg your pardon."You have to love autocorrect! I don't think I've ever read le Carre before.
