I think it's great that you read it, not being a dog owner. Welcome to the wonderful world of doggie parenting!

And now I want two more!

I have heard that saying, Pam, but I don't know how true it is for me. After ten years my dog is still trying to whip me into shape, and often she seems to get very exasperated with my inability to learn.

I just added "A Dog's Purpose" to my "to read" list. TY for the suggestion. It looks great!

Anyone who has pets can relate to Denny and anyone who is a pet can relate to Enzo...lol
Truelly amazing Book

I laughed for days at this part. I wouldnt even be reading the book and I just started busting out laughing. Now I can never look at a stuffed zebra the same.

Didn't any of your dog's ever just love to tear to the other side of a room grab a particular (animal, sock, toy) and rip it to shreds for what seemed like no reason? Maybe this was why!

I do recall flashbacks of a particular Irish setter tearing up and destroying my easter basket and stuffed bunny... Very Enzoesque!!!!! :)

I read this book a few months after we put down our family black lab. It made me cry but made me think about how much he was there for the family like the dog in the book was to his family and owner Denny! My dog died when we were on vacation and I remeber that he was soooo loving to us before we left. He new he could give up when we were gone.

I agree its a wonderful book, also read children`s version....

Lisa, I totally agree with you. It makes me wonder what my dog must think of her turkey toy that making a gobbling sound. This was by far one of the most touching books I've read.
