What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)
I recently finished Pleating for Mercy
, and really enjoyed it. At first..I thought there were alot of characters..but everything worked out. =)
I read
Scared Stiff by Annelise Ryan for Halloween. The mystery wasn't bad but overall I didn't like the book. The main character's prat falls and adolescent behavior were silly. Plus extraneous characters and scenes detailing body fluids and decomposition were way too yccky and had nothing to do with the mystery itself. Not what I'm looking for in a cozy read.

I just finished
Let Them Eat Stake. Enjoyable second book in the series. Ariel

I just picked this one up at the library - I liked the first two.

I devoured it in a few hours and can't wait for the next one. I found myself actually laughing out loud while reading!
I just finished Room at the Inn by L.L. Bartlett part of the Jeff Resnick series. I really liked them.
Agatha Raisin and the Haunted House!
I've also just read my first Father Brown mystery and really enjoyed it. I've bought the whole series so I hope they are all as good as the first. I assume he is considered a cozy mystery.
Just finished Drop Dead Chocolate: A Donut Shop Mysteryby Jessica Beck..I really enjoy this series..I'm always looking forward to the next one!!
@Denise -- I just finished my first Father Brown also! I read The Innocence of Father Brown, and have The Wisdom of Father Brown in my to-read pile for Nov. Which did you just finish?
Just finished reading
by Kate Collins. This books seemed to take me forever to get through. I am not sure if it was the book or my lack of focus.
Jennifer wrote: "Just finished reading

Definitely worth a second chance
Just finished
and enjoyed it.I didn't really care for the Kate Collins books. Read two of them and gave up on the rest. Can't really say why except they didn't hold my interest.
Just finished
for Halloween. First one I've read in this series, and I am anxious to pick up the next one!!

Like the Granny Apples books. Have you tried Jaffarian's Odelia Gray books? I really like them!
Jennifer wrote: "Thanks for the comments about Kate Collins's series. I'm glad to hear they get better."They do - I almost gave up on the series early on but Melodie's assurances kept me going. Although I have to warn you - the one that takes place during a funeral convention - can't remember the name - really disliked that one.
ETA: A Rose from the Dead was the one!
I finished the Kendall O'Dell series (even though out of order) by reading Dark Moon Crossing, the third book in the series. I have to say I think it was the best of the four. It got pretty intense for a while. The main story line deals with all of the illigal immigration that Arizona deals with by involving Kendall with an employee who has paid for two relatives to be smuggled into the country but then they just disappear. I have also read both of Sylvia Nobel's romances: A Scent of Jasmine and Chasing Rayna. Both very good.
In addition I was introduced to another author, Evan Marshall, and his series "The Hidden Manhattan Mysteries". I read the second in the series, Evil Justice. The protagonist is a sanitation supervisor (different right!!!) and in this book one of her employees is killed and another of her employees is arrested for the murder.
It appears that there are 4 books in this series so I have to read the other three, and Marshall also has another cozy series "The Jane Stuart and Winky Mysteries" with 6 books in the series. (Winky apparently is a cat). I love cats so I will have to check out this series, too (I hope the cat doesn't talk in this series).

Thanks for the tidbit.. I may have to skip over that one.. not big on anything funeral related..
I'm reading A Deadly Grind by Victoria Hamilton. Loving it! The main character collects vintage kitchen utensils, and such, which is something I've always loved. Can't wait to get further into the book.

I just finished
A Witch Before Dying, second in the series. But it was my first Heather Black and I really enjoyed it.
I just finished reading
Death In Four Courses by Lucy Burdette and really enjoyed it! I read
by her first, and sort of liked it but didn't really connect with the heroine, Haley. I'm so glad I decided to go ahead and read the second book! The series is about a food critic in Key West (yes, there are recipes in the book) and I now have quite an appetite for the next book which comes out in May 2013!
Joanne wrote: "I just finished reading [image error] Death In Four Courses by Lucy Burdette and really enjoyed it! I read [image error] by her first, and..."Glad to hear this one is better as I was also on the fence with the first one.
I finished A Fatal Stain last night. I really liked the first two book and had given up on a third, so was really pleased to see this one finally released. It was excellent! :)
I read Appetite for Murder and Death in Four Courses by Lucy Burdette. They were both great books. I enjoyed reading about the character Haley and seeing how the author developed her character.
A. wrote: "I just finished

I just finished reading File M for Murder by Miranda James. I have finished readying all the books in the Cat in the Stack Series. I wonder if there will be another book out soon. I love Diesel the cat!
Just finished Iced Chiffon. It took me a little while to get into it, but once I did I really enjoyed it :)

Last night, I finished
Foul Play at the Fair, the first in Shelley Freydont's new series. I really liked her Lindy Haggerty series, so I had high hopes for this one, and was not disappointed. The only problem now is waiting another year (or so) until the next book comes out!
