That sounds good. This is one I haven't read. Hope Mom and Nana are good characters!

I love this series Melodie!

We had to run to Walmart last night and they had this one so I picked up a copy!

yesterday. Good read. I didn't love Agatha when I was younger, but now I see what a truly brilliantly twisted mind she had."
I think this was the first Christie I read, and I loved the clever plot twists.

Oh no! I read and loved the first two in this series and I've been trying to hold off on grabbing this one. With this review I won't make it to the end of the month. :)

I really like the Stephanie Plum series. I can't wait to see the movie!

Jennifer, I'm not familiar with the book, but now I want some chocolate/mocha, something about 'layered' makes me hungry for cake.

So you should have some! Today is National Chocolate Cake Day, you know!!

Now that's a holiday I can support!
Finished Flipped Out by Jennie Bentley yesterday. Pretty good installment in this series, though I guessed whodunnit as early as chapter three.

Chocolate Cake Day? My kind of day. A medal to whoever came up with the idea.

Girl, I hear you. I don't think it's an accident that I took up drinking lattes and cappuccinos the same year I read this series. And some of the recipes for pastries in these books look like printed sin.

I'm drinking hot cocoa...no marshmallows. Do you know I had never seen a marshmallow until I cam to the States?

And here I thought we'd contributed nothing of value to world culinary culture. :-)

Ahah, life is full of surprises. Thanks Jennifer.
Finished Dashing Through The Snow by Mary Higgins Clark and Carol Higgins Clark. This was a fairly good fast read. Liked it much better than Santa Cruise.

I have this one coming up soon.

Just so you know Emma...I used to be a one book at a time person, but...now I keep a book in the car to read anytime things happen to make to have to wait somewhere, one in my purse and one by the bed at home. Now, if I really get into one of them, I will change it out and carry it with me at all times, but I find that it just helps to know that I have something to do if I have to wit somewhere anymore.

I always have at least 2 books going at the same time, usually 3!

Just so you know Emma...I use..."
I wish I could do this. I'm a one book at a time person and just make sure I religiously carry it around in my handbag! I'm always reading if my husband runs into a store or is filling the truck with gas!

(Isn't Mr. Butters the dog that plays keyboard for a parrot in some commercial? I digress...)
It's a good story of a young English boy who was kidnapped in England, brought to the Colonies, and sold as a slave/indentured servant. He passes from a cruel master to an opportunistic counterfeiter, who is actually kinder to him and becomes his friend, despite the counterfeiter's dubious moral judgments. Eventually, since the Revolutionary War is just starting, he becomes a spy for the rebels. The boy is forced to make a lot of important choices, such as whether to do the right things because they're right, even if they're not always the most practical decisions he could make.
I'm sorry this book is out of print, because I think it would entertain and teach young readers just as much today.
