What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)
Oh, one more!
Aunt Dimity's Death, which I really liked a lot. I found Dimity to be completely charming. Definitely want to read the next book.

I just finished Kissing Christmas Goodbye
by MC Beaton. Very good read, but it takes place in October and is not a Christmas mystery.

Karen, you somehow deleted the end bracket after the string of numbers in the code -- that's why it did not post right. ;-)

Finished reading The Winter Widow, an older mystery by Charlene Weir Saturday afternoon. I read another in the series, A Cold Christmas, in December 2009 and liked it well enough that I have been keeping an eye out for others in the series.

. I think I like this series better than her cupcake series"I just got this one out of the library!
Just finished Wreath of Deception by Mary Ellen Hughes this morning. I enjoyed it and will probably give the next book in the series a try.
Only managed to finish two books while I was on vacation. A Parfait Murder and Death by the Dozen. I enjoyed them both, but didn't like Death by the Dozen quite as much as the first two books in the series.
Just finished Zombies of the Gene Pool for the A-Z Title Challenge. I gave it two stars as I thought it started out slowly and the plot involved a group of sci-fi writers. I've read another series by Sharyn McCrumb (can't recall the characters in it right now) and I'll stick with that series in the future.
Last night I finished reading
. Loved it! Thought it was probably the best in this delightful series.
Finished
Books Can Be Deceiving this afternoon while the baby snoozed...gave it four stars and will continue in the series.
I recently finished ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY (Lucy Vallentine #3) by Heather Webber. Absolutely charming is what it should be called, because it is. A bit woo-woo, and fairly cozy. A real feel-good mystery. Loved it!Kris

Magical Alienation: A Samantha Brennan and Annabelle Haggerty Magical Mystery
Finished The Christmas Thief before bed last night, preparing to start another by MHC and CHC, Santa Cruise: A Holiday Mystery at Sea.

I finished
the latest Flavia de Luce mystery and love Flavia, but I thought this book took a while to really get going.
I saw the above book in the book store, I liked Bradley's Mustard with Red Herring book more than the first one. Those sisters in the story really don't like Flavia.
I finished
The Cocoa Conspiracy and it was one of those I could not put down. I don't usually do that, but I devoured it. Great book, highly recommend if you like historical cozy with suspense.
Robin wrote: "Cocoa Conspiracy sounds like fun."I loved it, just kept reading and truly could not put it down. Great fun and suspenseful.
I love the Amelia series by Elizabeth Peters. I also enjoy them on audio and think the narrator ( Barbara Rosenblatt) does a fantastic job.
Read Cat of the Centuryyesterday. I've been reading Rita Mae Brown's books for a long time and really like them, but they've become a bit formulaic. However, they're like family, comfortable, you know what to expect, and I love the characters.
G.M. wrote: "Just finished Louise Penny's second Three Pines book. "I am a big fan of Louise Penny's Three Pines series. They are very well written and the setting and mysteries are great. If you are interested in reading them I would strongly advise that you read them in order.
Mollie wrote: "I just finished The Mummy Case by Elizabeth Peters. Wow. Where havw I been? I want more!"I've enjoyed all of her books. She also writes under the name of Barbara Michaels.

Oh yes! Love her books! She's probably my fav mystery author right now. (If I had to chose...)
Caren wrote: "I just finished
I really enjoyed it. Full of interesting charachters. I would read more in the series."Thank you so much, Caren!
Finally finished Santa Cruise: A Holiday Mystery at Sea before bed last night. It was sort of meh...not the best I've read by this duo.
Mrs. Pollifax and the Hong Kong Buddah. I'm enjoying this series immensely. Trying to read in order, which is a challenge as it's been around awhile.
I hope I'm not posting this twice. Just finished Getting Old Can Kill You by Rita Lakin, and it really was a lot of fun.
Just finished our Ellery Queen read:A Fine and Private Place. I also finished 2 Agatha Christie books :
for my Christie challenge and
for another book club and this months read.
