What Cozy Did You Just Finish Reading??? (Archive)
Dru wrote: "I finished Sleight of Paw by Sofie Kelly and enjoyed it."I'm looking forward to reading this one. I really enjoyed the first in this series! Glad to hear you liked it.
Just finished
. Really liked it! I was a Titanic fanatic back in the day and was a huge fan of the luxury liner era in general, so a mystery set on one is the cherry on top.
Just finished Fatally Flaky by Diane Mott Davidson, which brings me up to date on her series. It's one of my favorite series, although I haven't tried the recipes yet. Reading the books makes me miss Colorado, where I lived for many years, although every other book is set in the fall/wintertime, which reminds me that I don't miss driving on ice! I enjoy the main players, and Davidson does an excellent job of fleshing out her characters and the plots. Looking forward to the next book that comes out.

Reading the ..."I used to really like this series in large part because it's set in CO and it was easy to recognize locations. But, it got stale for me and I think I quit with FATALLY FLAKY. Haven't even bothered with the new one, CRUNCH TIME.
Just finished Murder in Merry Old: A Simon Grand Tour Mystery and throughtly enjoyed it. I look forward to the next installment of Simon Grand.
I'm putting this hear because the book I just finished,
was listed as an upcoming cozy release here and in other places. But it is DEFINITELY not a cozy! But a great read nonetheless! Graphic and humorous in a Buffy-the-vampire-slayer kind of way, I really enjoyed it and I'll definitely get the next one.
Read Fool's Puzzle by Earlene Fowler yesterday. Liked it enough that I will look for book two in the series.
I finished The Crazy Old Lady in the Attic
last night it's a short story and after I was done it reminded me of a cozy then a horror for some reason.
I just finished
. I liked it better than the first book maybe because I was more invested in the characters. I plan to get the 3rd book next week when it comes out!
Finished
yesterday. As others have mentioned, it's a really interesting, complex plot. Great chocolate lore and the recipes look interesting and easy enough that I might try a couple. Definitely look forward to the next one!

I enjoyed the first book too. I was surprised that the 2nd was already out!

It's near the top of my TBR pile and I'm looking forward to it; Regency + chocolate sounds like the perfect combination to me.
I just finished
I loved it! I hated having to put it down (stupid work). I love Charlie and Diesel. I look forward to reading the next one.
Ann wrote: "The most recent Cozy-Mystery I read was Clouds of Witness by Dorthy Sayers. I gave it 5 stars. Here's my review:"Clouds of Witness" was a very delightful book! In both the mystery..."
Liked that one also.
Just finished
was really short and seemed different than others I have read by M.C. BeatonLike someone else wrote it. I did like it, but just different.
Finished Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye by Victoria Laurie last night. Really liked this one, will definitely have to seek out book two. Now reading another by the same author, different series, What's a Ghoul to Do?.
Heather L wrote: "Finished Abby Cooper, Psychic Eye by Victoria Laurie last night. Really liked this one, will definitely have to seek out book two. Now reading another by the same autho..."I really like the Abby Cooper books. The "ghostbuster" series, not so much!
I finished the short story UNHAPPY MEDIUM it is set in the 1920's This was a good one it reminded me of the old B/W movies from the30's or 40's about seance's spirt guides, clairvoyance. it is free and worth getting. you can get it here http://www.belgravehouse.com/bookstor...
Yvonne wrote: "I just finished
and it was wonderful. Great start to a series."I think I might have to add this one to my never-ending list!
Hannah wrote: "Glad to hear it's good, Jennifer! It's near the top of my TBR pile and I'm looking forward to it; Regency + chocolate sounds like the perfect combination to me. "Hannah - FWIW, I tried one of the recipes today - the chocolate shortbread - I think it's the recipe at the start of Ch. 4. It was really tasty and a very big hit at the Grand Final party my partner had. :)
I just finished
Murder on the Rocks by Karen MacInerney. It's the first in a series and honestly I bought it because I liked the recipes at the end. :D It was a good mystery especially for a debut. I like the main characters and hope the protagonist is further developed in the next one - which I've started already. This book was nominated for an Agatha.
I just finished re-reading Murder Melts in Your Mouth
by Nancy Martin. Enjoyed it (again!) and am looking forward to Blackbird # 8.
Finished
! Loved it. I was worried about Meg's apparent doormat behaviour because that tends to irritate me, but she's so annoyed about it herself that I don't feel the need to be bothered on her behalf.

I will have to get books by Amanda Lee and I finished Books Can Be Deceiving. I wish I had more hours in the day to read all the tons of books I have!

Just finished The Tightrope Walker by Dorothy Gilman. Good read, not her best. Probably even a little more cozy than some of her other works. Nice way to spend the afternoon.
I just finished my ARC of
Dead Bolt, a Haunted Renovation Mystery. I loved it. This is quickly becoming one of my top favorite paranormal mysteries. Still a cozy but has a great creepy haunted house in this one.
Peg wrote: "Susie in KS wrote: "Just finished

Peg, I mostly liked it ;) There were a few things I didn't really like (the ghost is kind of boring) but I will give the next book a try!
I just finished reading
which is book 1 in the Soap Opera Mystery Series and then finished
which is the second the next day.It wasn't bad, but I am having trouble getting into the main character, but am thinking I might try one more first before writing them off.

I read the first book in this series, and then was so disappointed to find out that the second wasn't out yet! I really liked the first one and am so looking forward to the next book.
Glad to know that you liked it!
Caitlin wrote: "Just finished
. Not super cozy but still a good paranormal read. I like the grim reaper premise."I've got this one on my TBR pile, waiting for this month and halloween to read it.
I finished Not a Girl Detective. It was OK, but I definitely felt as if I had dropped into the middle of the series. The protagonist's friends are strongly drawn and the number of characters in the story made it confusing sometimes.
Finished What's a Ghoul to Do? by Victoria Laurie. It was okay, but think I prefer her Psychic Eye series. Will probably give book two a try just to get an idea where the series is going.
