Philip Whiteland - the man behind Josiah and Archibald (which makes it sound like we're in a queue!)
It's been described as "almost Pythonesque" and "Gone With The Wind meets Airplane", and it's FREE today: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Jambalaya-ebo...
Some musings about tribute bands and the process of ageing, which you might enjoy.http://philwhiteland.blogspot.co.uk/2...
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Sounds like a lively show. ;)"I've probably made it sound more geriatric than it actually was. The band were very good and some of the audience were dancing in the aisles (including me). It just made me think.

Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "For the older and frailer segment of the audience..."Oh, me then ;-)
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Ok. Older and frailer than you!"Oddly enough, an ambulance did shoot past us on the way home. Perhaps they had missed me and were trying to catch up. If you're interested, the group in question were The Bohemians - worth a look.

Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Pretty good - sounds just like them!"Oddly enough, I saw another bunch a few months ago on a Warners break (old and frail you see). They mostly played it for laughs but the lead singer had (in my opinion) a better voice than the guy in The Bohemians.

Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Welll..... maybe..."Is that a definite maybe or only a possible maybe?
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Its a probable maybe."I'll bet you revolt against all multi-choice questions, don't you?
What to do on a wet and miserable Sunday afternoon? Well, you could take advantage of the last few hours of my 99p sale on all books until midnight tonight :-)http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philip-Whitel...
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Not at all, its because I have no more new ones to look forward to. Hint, hint..."Well, thanks for the vote of confidence, but I really need to sell some copies of Book 3 first
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Good luck with that - its a very enjoyable book."Thanks. I meant to thank you for the rating as well but forgot.

Even if you don't like the article, you can always enjoy the picture of the cute dog ;-)
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Well at least you didn't have my mini-skirt problem..."Perhaps I would have had more success if I had worn one!
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Ummmm... I have a few doubts about that!"Huh, for all you know I might turn a very shapely ankle ;-)
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Well if you wore stilettoes with the mini you probably would turn your ankle."I would guarantee it. I don't know how people walk in those things.
There's a review of A Kick at the Pantry Door in today's Derby Telegraph:http://www.thisisderbyshire.co.uk/Fre...
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "yep - i agree with her"Well, thank you kindly!
Do you know what beats me? Apart, that is, from Miss Whiplash, Flat 2a, Moore, Moore, Moore St, Little Cuttingham. How can you have a book that is the third in a series in which the first has sold over 5,500 copies and the second over 1,500, which has received excellent reviews all round, but which doesn't sell at all????
Gingerlily - Goodbye, and thanks for all the fish. wrote: "Its a mystery!"That's probably where I'm going wrong, it should have been a mystery - The Case of the Kick at the Pantry Door!
