Really looking forward to the Atwood one:)

It's actually out now Brenda. Came in on Monday. Very excited about this one. :)

Are you getting the Aussie or US release dates, Brenda? Because it's odd that the dates don't seem to coincide with the stores. Just like theKate Grenville book that came out last Thursday but the release date according to some was today!!! But yes agree does sound good.
1st April is the Aussie release date - US is November Elaine:) I think some publishers release them early and then stores are lucky enough to get them early too:) Does that make sense!!

Not really...it's confusing as the release date should be the same across the country and for all bookshops I would have thought. I mean books are embargoed before official publication date to make sure everyone has them and displays them at the same time. I might ask Nat how it all works. I'm still too new at this to understand it properly. For now it's a bonus I guess to have them. It may have to do with the distributors, although they're all the same ones too....see what I mean it's confusing.

I realised after posting this that it really doesn't matter when they're released as I usually don't get to read them for months after...sometimes years!!! Lol!! Unless of course I'm fortunate enough to get an uncorrected proof or damaged copy. Mind you some of our customers know exactly when a book is supposed to be published and we certainly hear about it if for whatever reason it's not there when it's meant to be!!!

Hi Elaine, Re your comment regarding books being embargoed prior to release date. Very few actually are. If a release date is the 1st of the month a publisher may well start fulfilling orders a good couple of weeks prior to the actual publication date & bookshops will have them on the shelves asap. This has become more the norm over the past couple of years.

I bet she would. And so would I! In the last book Bertie was winning at last against his ridiculous mother.

In part:
An original manuscript the beloved author wrote more than half a century ago has been discovered by his widow Audrey and will be published by Random House Children's Books in July.
The illustrated manuscript, entitled What Pet Should I Get?, was found in the La Jolla, California home of the author following his death in 1991.
His widow found the text and drawings in 2013 when she was cleaning out her husband's office space.
"We believe that he wrote and illustrated What Pet Should I Get? somewhere between 1958 and 1962," Random House vice president Cathy Goldsmith said in a statement.
