Is it almost time again for our shelf announcement? Looking at our card "Goodreads Author" might help us out... @Cindy did you get your new Erotica/BDSM shelf request yet? I still have a couple of Joey W Hills vampire books TBRed that would fit. My book buddy just started her Boardroom series and sez its pretty hawt...
Hi, Sallie! How are you liking Kitty? I'm up to #5 so far. Trying to catch up to current by the end of the year.
Hey everyone finished my book
...4*s...loved this one thought it was another good addition to the series...it started out somewhat slow but Vaughn took the time to build the story...kitty just seems to have the talent of either creating trouble or she's busy trying to prevent it & in this book she's doing both... Love her cant wait to read the next one just to see what other misfortune she becomes entangled in.
I finally found a book on a shelf that is also one I need to read for PBS. YAY!!!!!I'll be reading
. Thank you Mr. Randomizer!!!!!
I just checked our Bingo card. Since I have 2 books to read, I'm gonna read the Fantasy Paranormal book first. That one will give us 3 in a row 2 different ways. Besides, it keeps calling my name.....Cindy....Cindy.....read me....don't wait.....
I finished
a couple of days ago (09/09/11). I'm giving it 4 stars. It had a cliffhanger. GRRRRRRRRR! Ok, other than that it was enjoyable. I have no problem believing Rose is a teenager. She definitely acted immature in this book. I must say that, as hot as Dmitri is, he is too old for Rose and it makes me kinda squeamish, (view spoiler). The book started off kinda slow, but the action picked up well enough. Stupid ending pissed me off, but I'm curious to see where Mead is going with this. I'll be reading
I think for the fantasy paranormal shelf. I really wanted to read A Game of Thrones, but I think that will take me too long. I plan on reading it as soon as Bingo is over though I think.["br"]>["br"]>
You guys, I was wondering how we're doing and who's closest to win this round of Bingo and... according to Laura's spreadsheet on msg 157 (I don't know how to post a link) we need at least 2 more shelfs to win. Now, team #2, Double Trouble, needs the paranormal romance shelf to... wait, can we do a diagonal line to win?
and team #5, Gypsies, Vamps & Thieves, only needs the ghosts shelf.
so far, so good... I like this game 'cause it's slower than the last one, work has been crazy and I've been reading a book per week.. or so... I am way behind in all my challenges.. and I just got a call from the university to ask if I can fill in for another teacher... yeeei! but oooy!
Anyway, keep your fingers crossed...
You're right Lili. Unfortunately, if the Paranormal Romance shelf or the Ghost shelf is called next, then as long as each member of the appropriate team reads and reviews a book, then they will win......That would be sad......
Sounds like your life is really picking up steam this year! YAY!!! More stress, but hopefully more fun too.
Finally hit the halfway mark with this weeks shelf book... Yikes!! Not sure if its me, the book, or life, but not moving as fast as I'm used to. Hopefully I can report soon. Happy Reading TEAM!!
Don't feel bad Lis. I'm not reading as much as I usually do either..... I'm enjoying what I am reading, just seems like it is taking a LOOOONNNNGGGG time to finish a book. I'm just finishing up book #5 for the month. Last month by this time I was already reading book #8. I need to read shorter books, or stop letting grandkids, coworkers, and the TV distract me!
Well - I've started my Fantasy Paranormal book, but I'm gonna change my Supernatural book to Mockingjay. It was chosen at PBS so I'll have to read and mail it soon!
Finally!!! in the wee wee hours in the am...Finished my "Fanatasy Paranormal" Shelf book: Hounded

Date finished: September 15,2011
Rating: ★★★
Review: I enjoyed this book, it offers a different and creative world building. Alot of Druidish/ Celtic/ Fae mythology and research built into the storyline. I'd almost feel a little smarter if this wasn't fiction, almost!! The main character is the last living Druid and pretty much a perpetual 21 yr old and seems to be stuck in that phase maturity wise too, even though he's been around for thousands and thousands of years. Tries to live a low key life off the radar, but his past comes looking for him. Has acquired a few allies over the centuries so they come to aid him even though he is pretty much a pawn in the great Fae political world in a gods vs goddess war. He's got a great sidekick Oberon, his pet Irish Wolfhound that he can communicate telepathically with and offers a little comic relief in his quest for french poodle tail. Plan to continue on with the series.
Finally started Lover Enshrined yesterday. I got my books confused and read something else thinking that was my Bingo book. Whoops! I'll finish it as quick as I can, but I don't have a day off till next Friday so it's gonna be slow going! :-(
Did the book you just finished appear on the 'fantasy paranormal' shelf, Crystal? If so, you can change your book choice.
Hey everyone - Im sorry that I havent been around much lately but life has a tendency to get chaotic & right now it is overwhelming me....that being said I did finish my "Fantasy Paranormal" read
.4*s...this series has reminded me of the BDB series from Karen Moning but I like this one better. LA did a nice job with building the characters & I liked the fact that Elise was a strong female character - she wasnt afraid to stand & fight along side her man. Im enjoying the series & look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Just finished Dead Witch Walking by Kim Harrison 09/16****Pretty good first book in a first, I liked the characters, especially Rachel and Jenks, he was the best!
Ivy... she was kind of... akward, maybe I didn't get her or I'll understand her better as her story develops.
The bad guys were baaaad, Trent was a scary SOB and can't wait to see what happens with him later on.
I do think the story lacked a hot guy, Nick's ok but not alpha enough for me... maybe later on..

OMG!!! Why is it that i havent discovered this before!!! (Yes ill admit im excited my two favorite things vampires and sex all in a nice package)..
I was hooked fr..."
are we talking about BDB's Dark lover???
if so... wait.... it gets better!
by the way, Rhage's mine so back off!!
Fantasy Paranormal (9-17) ****Really liked this book! Filled with magic, mages, runes, and a hunky man/beast. A little M/M loving, nothing terribly explicit. Action packed. Would love to read another in this world, but not sure if one will be coming.
Jessica - my Supernatural book should be Mockingjay, not Magic Slays. I've already started it!
Thought maybe we would have our next shelf by now....I've got my fingers crossed for something good!
Wow there are way too many books on that shelf to decide... Yikes!! Short list:
...or a few book club types I have growing dust:
Help!! I think I've narrowed it to
or
which is not a series book :( but I wanted to read this month... This is going to be a crappy work week with corporate meetings so I need a very good "warm & fuzzy" book escape...
Good Call Jessica!! I do not want any additional "thinking" than needed this week... My pick is BONDS OF JUSTICE for the Read in 2010 shelf.
Hey everyone. Well I have survived our Fall Festival here so now I'm in full get ready for vacation mode....I leave for Williamsburg Norfolk Virginia on Thurs morning for my Daddy's Navy reunion...gotta love those flybys...anyway my pick for Read in 2010 is
It can't be getting so close already. I am actually cleaning off several books of my TBR shelf and its been fun. Well hopefully it will line up for us pretty soon.
Well.....The Name of the Game doesn't have quite enough pages to qualify. DRATS!!!! Guess I'll be reading
instead! Of course, that means I have to read
first.....didn't find it on the list, but must read series books in order! It's a rule, right?????Finishing up
today then on to the man-smut! I can hardly wait.....
Crystal S wrote: "I'm going to read
for "read in 2010." I need a paranormal break! LOL"Oooh. I liked The Lost Symbol.
by Suzanne Collins Supernatural Shelf 9-19-11 *****Another great installment in the series. There was a lot I loved about this book, and a couple of things I absolutely hated. (view spoiler) I'm sad to see the end of the series, but there were some questions left unanswered. As much as I love the series, I'm actually hoping that the citizens of Panem don't feel the need to revisit these games in future generations. Revenge is sweet, but in the end can also be devastating.["br"]>["br"]>
Cindy (eclecticfirefly) wrote: "Well, since I was the slowpoke, we are now ready for our Supernatural stamp! YAY team!!!"yeeeei!
first time it wasn't meee!... but no worries dear Cindy, we're still a couple of weeks from winning.
Yeah Cindy!! and Yeah Team, another stamp!!Glad you liked the series. Its got alot of twists and turns, but a pretty good storyline. Can't wait until the movie...
CONGRATULATIONS, Serious Series Sluts! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'supernatural'.
[Your new BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D
Sorry team, a little slow on my reading for this week. Done with corporate meetings which suck the life out of me like an energy vampire. Did manage to get almost 40 quarts of sauce made and canned with help from hubby and kids. Soooo ready for some Psy-Changling steaminess.
Hey Jess - I need to change my Read in 2010 book to Camp Hell. The other one is too short.....darn it all!
