I think he played a transsexual character in a movie, if that helps. Maybe your customer thought he was actually a woman.

But the other comparisons--Emily Blunt, Felicia Day--seem plausible and nice.
Actually, it was really cool. I was a manager and I worked with a lot of cool people (one of my co-workers is now my roommate), got to have really great conversations with movie buffs and had awesome regular customers who would bring me food when I had to work holidays. One of my regulars used to come in to talk books and politics with me, and when I left he gave me a copy of Nightwood from the 60s. We were a big Blockbuster family.A bunch of us once worked a 24 hour shift because the entire store had to be reset, but it was fun because we could watch movies and goof around while we worked. I miss it; I only left because the money sucked and and the company was cutting back hours after they declared bankruptcy. The only drawbacks aside from the money was the ugly polo shirt, working on Christmas and the occasional irate customer, but even they could be fun to mess with, especially if they were jerks.
My wife's niece and the niece's husband were both managers of Blockbuster stores somewhere in Florida. The stores have closed, and neither of them has a job right now. But they loved Blockbuster.

They were most often referring to Emily Blunt:

Which is very nice.
or to Felicia Day:

Also very nice.
And then someone told me that I look like Cillian Murphy (who is a dude):

I can't quite figure out if this should be insulting or not. He is very nice looking. And yet, I am a girl, thank you very much.
Anyone else experienced unintentionally back-handed compliments? Or intentional, for that matter.
