Okay, I don't have high hopes but it's worth a shot...I read a YA suspense book in junior high (1990-91) where a girl who is sort of quiet and innocent finds out she has a twin who is outgoing with a great-looking bf, and who convinces her to switch places, which she does because she's attracted to the twin's bf. Only when she does she realizes the twin was in danger and that's why she wanted to switch...she ends up dating the twin's bf, who knew the whole time who she was and helps her solve the mystery...I think it turned out the twin that was in trouble had witnessed a drug deal or something. I'm curious because Sara Shepard has the Lying Game coming out, and it reminded me of this old book. I know this is a long shot, I had taken it out of the library and can't remember the title, the cover, or any specifics. Just the plot. It isn't the book by Caroline B. Cooney where the one twin is evil. Thanks!

Was it Stranger with My Face by Lois Duncan? In it a girl discovers she has a twin, and she and the twin switch bodies via astral projection.
Mirror Mirror by Virginia Nielsen (1983). Why does Gerry want to switch places with Gilly? — Gilly and Gerry are identical twins, separated at birth. They meet for the first time when they're sixteen and find that they're so alike, even their boyfriends can't tell them apart! — Than Gilly visits Gerry's home, and when the vacation is over, Gerry convinces Gilly to switch places secretly.
