Rosemarie: When I imagined going off into the woods with Raven, I never expected it to be The Woods and you know, I kind of expected Raven to be with me. *stops* Shit. Trees are thinning out. That means I'm probably going to the clearing.

*And indeed, she does come to the entrance of a clearing. A small, lithe girl with very dark hair in a braid and vivid blue lies in the middle of it, staring up at the sky. As Rosemarie approaches, she sits up*

Jillian: Demon, I think. *rather abruptly turns into a sleek black panther, then back to human form. Grins a little at her ignorance* Yes, definitely demon.

Rosemarie: That's it. I demand to be able to turn into a snake when this is said and done. I'm named after one, so I should get to be one. So what's a demon like you doing in this clearing? I'm sure it's not for no reason.

Jillian: I enjoy this spot. It makes it very easy to keep tabs on the rest of The Woods because it's right in the center of them. I know who comes, who goes, who dies, who fights.

Me: My demons all get animal forms, Rosie. So that they can better navigate all sorts of environments, instead of just human ones.

Jillian: Today must be your unlucky day, little flower. *phases human so that the arrow whizzes over her head, then simply unsheathes claws and goes for the throat*

Jillian: *smiling despite having been knocked back hard, begins to advance again* Can you? *leaps the rest of the space between them, slicing the arrowhead clean off the shaft with claws, using free hand to slash at the remaining ones on Rosemarie's back* I would love to see you try.

Jillian: *makes a sound that is rather reminiscent of both a big cat's screech and a human's scream, phasing panther and then knocking Rosemarie's head away with one paw, claws unsheathed*

Rosemarie: *rolls away from the panther, throwing her bow towards the bushes in the process* How'd that feel? *stands*

Jillian: *swats fists away, then phases back to human and smiles, jumping back out of reach* Not bad for a slave, is it, little flower? I would consider that the winning blow, wouldn't you?

Raven: Oh my GOD!

Carlos: Yeah, now you can have a seizure. This is not good.

Phoenix: *stares with mixed fascination and horror* Wow. Is she going to pass out?

Rosemarie: *snarls* I suppose so. *panting a little, Rosemarie tries to focus away from the pain in her leg as the world starts to blur slightly*

Jillian: *considers her, eyes slightly narrowed* You know, I almost hope that nothing happens by and kills you--almost. *with a little snarl of her own, phases panther and pads away*

Me: *considers* We need to do something about that before poor Raven has a heart attack and/or goes on a murderous rampage.

Me: We definitely don't want that. Perhaps an ally of some kind (Maybe Mercy?) finds her and rescues her from the clearing.

Rosemarie: *starts to feel the pain in her leg again, and it starts to quickly bring her back into consciousness*

*The air around Rosemarie is cleaner, cooler, as if she is up very high. She is suspended in a hammock made of interwoven threads of spider silk, which is suspended in midair by cables of the stuff at all four corners. Parts of her jeans have been cut away, revealing a very large and very deep puncture wound in her shin (the bleeding has stopped, and it is simply airing.) There is a soft, nearly soundless rustling, the sound of many, many pairs of legs moving across branches and through trees. Hundreds of spiders line and scurry to and fro over the boughs around her*

Rosemarie: *immediately stiffens when she sees spiders crawling over her, ignoring the pain in he leg. She starts to whimper loudly as a large, black spider crawls up her arm*

Mercy: *sharply, from a tree to her right* Be still! They can't help you if you're squirming. *should Rosemarie look, she would see a very tall girl with quite the long braid and pale gray eyes watching her* I will call them off in a moment--I have to make sure the hammock stays firm. The less you move, the quicker it gets done.

Rosemarie: *glances up at the voice* You're Mercy, aren't you? *looks uneasily at spiders again, biting her lip with wide eyes*

Me: I don't want to give anything away about my group, but you may find your wishes to be granted in unexpected ways.

Mercy: *nods* I am Mercy. *a series of odd little clicks calls the spiders off, drawing them away from Rosemarie and back to her. She doesn't seem to notice as they swarm her. Eyes narrow thoughtfully* Tell me, what on earth happened to you?
