Aruana | 248 comments Not crazy about the above cover. She looks very "hard" and Gracie is "soft". Abby Green's Pinterest board for the book is much nicer.

Check it out:

I'm busy with
Bought for the Greek's Bed by Julia James by Julia James. The revenge theme is one of my faves. There's a lot of internal dialogue in the book. The sex scenes ar sizzling.

Aruana | 248 comments I'm reading From Dirt to Diamonds (Harlequin Presents (Larger Print)) by Julia James - Julia James. I saw all the warnings about the book .... I'm still in the beginning. Will have to see.

message 354: by Leona (new)

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments Aruana, the reviews do look pretty scary. How did you like Bought for the Greek's Bed by Julia James ?

message 355: by Leona (new)

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments I'm starting...The Greek Tycoon's Mistress by Julia James. I think it is her first and supposedly best.

message 356: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Leona, I liked it. There was a lot of internal dialogue going on. Julia James has a certain style - I know what to expect when I read one of her books.

Aruana | 248 comments I just finished From Dirt to Diamonds - Julia James and it was okay. Nothing great, but I wasn't offended by anything. It's a typical Julia James. Lots of secrets and fears. The heroine was damaged and that informed a lot of her decisions. Not always good.

I'm running out of books ..... will have to get to the bookshop and get some of the books you guys have suggested.

After I 'll finish Never Love A Highlander (McCabe Trilogy, #3) by Maya Banks I will start an Abby Green Marathon. I downloaded the pictures she uploaded in pinterest.com. It will be like I'm watching a movie with hero and heroine!

message 359: by Leona (new)

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments I finished the Greek Tycoon's Mistress.....ehhhh...not sure I liked it. I'm surprised since it was touted to be her first and best book. I have really liked this author in the past. My all time favorite was Bought by Her Latin Loverthen followed by the The Greek's Virgin Bride...

message 360: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (boocluvr) | 24 comments Just started The Man Who Could Never Love (Presents Extra) by Kate Hewitt ...so far so good.

Aruana | 248 comments I don't really have OLD books. The furthest mine goes is about 2000 - they are in the bottom of the pile! I have a couple that go back to the 70's and 80's. I was very much into Sara Craven and Helen Bianchin at the time.

O yes, please let me know if I should post this somewhere else .....

Verity | 567 comments I'm so green w/ envy. My oldest collection is Anne Mather's. US HPs should redesign their covers & upgrade 'em.

message 367: by Natalija (new)

Natalija I just finished Sale Or Return Bride by Sarah Morgan. It has so many great reviews, but I was able to give it only 2 stars :(

message 368: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Again, I'm not sure where to post this, but I'd like to share these with you guys.

Two versions of the same! This is what happens in the different HP/M & B realms!

My review:
Overall, "Sale or Return Bride" is a fast-moving & emotional HP, but, IMHO, it's overdone, it's too predictable and has all the possible clichés you can wish for in a romance novel. Since there are so many good reviews from other readers, I will not advise against reading this book. It's just not my cup of tea.

message 371: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments I lurve the ones w/out the grinning couples on the cover, wot a change.

message 372: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I'm actually going to reread Sale Or Return Bride by Sarah Morgan and also Hollywood Husband, Contract Wife Ruthless by Jane Porter

I loved both books, but it's been a while since I've read it and I'm looking for something.

I have to get to the bookshop this week .... d e s p e r a t e

I really enjoyed Sale or Return Bride, but I know not everyone has the same tastes.

Aruana, I had that copy of Contract Bride.

Aruana | 248 comments What makes a book a wallbanger? O, yes I'm not too clued up on all the abbreviations:

HEA - Happy Ever After

and ?

message 375: by Aruana (last edited Apr 30, 2012 06:59AM) (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I've just finished Hollywood Husband, Contract Wife: Ruthless by Jane Porter.

I love this theme: I'm a sucker for Hollywood and actors and especially when a famous actor falls for a "normal" girl.

I loved the easy dialogue. I could see them sitting on the deck and reading the newspaper. A lot of angst.

Loved it!

PS I have to ad that the love scene in the shower :::fanning herself::::: I've never read an HP where they've done that ....

message 376: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments I lurve shower boinkathon ! Emma Darcy - Marriage meltdown & Sandra Marton - Sexiest man alive have it.

message 377: by Aruana (last edited Apr 30, 2012 04:48PM) (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Okay, I've finished Sale or Return Bride by Sarah Morgan. I nearly cried a couple of times.

Moving on to Christos's Promise by Jane Porter.

I've run out of books and I'm rereading some of my faves.

message 378: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Okay! Found two books today that I wanted to read. New ones!

His Majesty's Mistake by Jane Porter - I just skimmed the reviews and it looks very good.

A Vow of Obligation by Lynne Graham.

I think I'm going to start with the Jane Porter.....

message 379: by Leona (new)

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments I just finished ....The Greek Tycoon's Convenient Mistress (Greek Tycoons) 1 weak*star.....not my cuppa tea!

The Italian's Inexperienced Mistress (Ruthless) which was a great read.

message 380: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments As mentioned I am reading Jane Porters latest, His Majesty's Mistake.

I see it's only scheduled for release in the US in June 2012!

BTW, this book is fantastic! I didn't want it to end.

And I love the cover of the book.

Nice cover indeed!
I like Jane Porter's books too!
I loved one of her series and will read something by her again soon!

message 382: by Tracie (new)

Tracie (mom2teebee) I just finished The Mistress Wife by Lynne Graham which was pretty good.

I love the cover of that book. The model sort of reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.

message 383: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments I've just finished A Vow of Obligation by Lynne Graham by Lynne Graham. I actually liked it. Navarre became more likeable towards the end of the book. I don't like the fact that he said to the heroine "you were a good lay". Hello!

Also, Navarre is French and some of the dialogue just wasn't believable. Would a Frenchman say: "Snap. I love you for your dignity and cool, ma petite"? I don't see it.

Anyway, no idea what to read next ...... bookshop here I come!

message 384: by Verity (new)

Verity | 567 comments maybe this Frenchman was raised in HPlandia, so the cadence got lost in translation. We all know how to fake it to get laid.

Leona (wdwcbm) | 373 comments I just finished Baby Of Shame (Harlequin Presents)(Greek Tycoons series) by Julia James
**** 4 stars, lots of angst, and also just finished The Maverick's Greek Island Mistress by Kelly Hunter a ***** 5 star!!! loved it.

message 386: by Maleka (new)

Maleka | 69 comments His Secret Temptation by Cat Schield 5* must read
now reading The Habit Of Loving (Harlequin Presents, #802) by Rosemary Hammond so far its good

message 387: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Rereading Taming the Last St. Claire by Carole Mortimer by Carole Mortimer.

message 388: by Cassie (new)

Cassie (boocluvr) | 24 comments Just finished reading One Night in His Arms by Penny Jordan ..... I actually liked this one. I thought it was a nice spin to find out that the hero has loved her all along...even tho man that he is didn't express it. Yes, he had his reasons, but I'm a romantic at heart. Most of the time I really can't get into the books where the H realizes he is madly in love with the h in the last 5 pages. So far, I'm liking Penny Jordan...think I'm gonna try to find more.

message 389: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments The Billionaire's Bride of Vengeance by Miranda Lee by Miranda Lee

I went and got a whole bunch of Penny Jordan's at the secondhand bookshop today. I've just skimmed them so far, but will get stuck in as soon as I'm finished with this one.

Not sure, Cassie. I just paged through a couple and I hope I'm not disappointed ....

I'm rereading The Arabian Mistress (Harlequin Presents, #2182) (Walk Down the Aisle, #3) by Lynne Graham by Lynne Graham. Love it!

For some reason Lynne Graham's heros all tend to speak English slang, and not how you would picture a rich ,sophiscated, cultured man to speak, but then again that is what makes her heros so different than otherauthors heros.

I've read Not a Marrying Man (Harlequin Presents and The Playboy's Proposition (Australian Playboys) and really liked both of them.

message 396: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Thanks you Tracie. I have Not A Marrying Man - very good.

I'm rereading Million-Dollar Love-Child (for some or other reason it doesn't want to insert the link). I love this book! Yes, Luc could be an ass at times, but I loved the fact that Kimberley stood up to him. And the love scene ..... "fanning myself". It was hot!

It's a keeper.

message 397: by Aruana (new)

Aruana | 248 comments Woohoo! Very excited! Got
The Sheikh's Heir by Sharon Kendrick by Sharon Kendrick today.

It's part of the whole The Santina Crowen series. There's also a Penny Jordan out.

I bought it today and went to sit in the coffee shop for 1 hour to read. I couldn't stop. A sheikh - a bit sh*tty and arrogant, but the heroine is not a pushover. Heroine becomes pregnant from the H, even though he used a condom, and then has to contact him to let him know.

These sheikh's should sue the condom manufacturers - really! The condoms are for ever breaking. Geez!

Any suggestions Ladies..I am on the verge of abandoning this new found hobby.

I think you might like Ruthless Billionaire, Inexperienced Mistress by Robyn Donald. This one is a true gem, I don't really like McDonald's other books, but this one was very sweet.
