Harlequin Presents Readers discussion
      2015 Harlequin Presents Reading
      >
What HQNs are you reading right now?

      I'm reading

 - Julia James. I saw all the warnings about the book .... I'm still in the beginning. Will have to see.

I'm starting...The Greek Tycoon's Mistress by Julia James. I think it is her first and supposedly best.

Leona, I liked it. There was a lot of internal dialogue going on. Julia James has a certain style - I know what to expect when I read one of her books.

I just finished From Dirt to Diamonds - Julia James and it was okay. Nothing great, but I wasn't offended by anything. It's a typical Julia James. Lots of secrets and fears. The heroine was damaged and that informed a lot of her decisions. Not always good.I'm running out of books ..... will have to get to the bookshop and get some of the books you guys have suggested.

I will start an Abby Green Marathon. I downloaded the pictures she uploaded in pinterest.com. It will be like I'm watching a movie with hero and heroine!

I finished the Greek Tycoon's Mistress.....ehhhh...not sure I liked it. I'm surprised since it was touted to be her first and best book. I have really liked this author in the past. My all time favorite was Bought by Her Latin Loverthen followed by the The Greek's Virgin Bride...

I wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I wanted to share. Probably not as impressive as some of you guys, but I'm very proud of them. These are my KEEPERS.

wow...very impressive! I so much like the Mills and Boon covers..they are much more sophisticate than the US HP presents.

I don't really have OLD books. The furthest mine goes is about 2000 - they are in the bottom of the pile! I have a couple that go back to the 70's and 80's. I was very much into Sara Craven and Helen Bianchin at the time.O yes, please let me know if I should post this somewhere else .....

I'm so green w/ envy. My oldest collection is Anne Mather's. US HPs should redesign their covers & upgrade 'em.

I just finished Sale Or Return Bride by Sarah Morgan. It has so many great reviews, but I was able to give it only 2 stars :(

Again, I'm not sure where to post this, but I'd like to share these with you guys. Two versions of the same! This is what happens in the different HP/M & B realms!
Looks familiar?
Some collections I like
Some of my older books - had to do a lot to get hold of them!
More proof ..... and look, another double!

My review:
Overall, "Sale or Return Bride" is a fast-moving & emotional HP, but, IMHO, it's overdone, it's too predictable and has all the possible clichés you can wish for in a romance novel. Since there are so many good reviews from other readers, I will not advise against reading this book. It's just not my cup of tea.
      I'm actually going to reread

 and also

I loved both books, but it's been a while since I've read it and I'm looking for something.
I have to get to the bookshop this week .... d e s p e r a t e

I really enjoyed Sale or Return Bride, but I know not everyone has the same tastes.
Aruana, I had that copy of Contract Bride.

What makes a book a wallbanger? O, yes I'm not too clued up on all the abbreviations:HEA - Happy Ever After
and ?
I've just finished Hollywood Husband, Contract Wife: Ruthless by Jane Porter.I love this theme: I'm a sucker for Hollywood and actors and especially when a famous actor falls for a "normal" girl.
I loved the easy dialogue. I could see them sitting on the deck and reading the newspaper. A lot of angst.
Loved it!
PS I have to ad that the love scene in the shower :::fanning herself::::: I've never read an HP where they've done that ....
I lurve shower boinkathon ! Emma Darcy - Marriage meltdown & Sandra Marton - Sexiest man alive have it.

Okay, I've finished Sale or Return Bride by Sarah Morgan. I nearly cried a couple of times.Moving on to Christos's Promise by Jane Porter.
I've run out of books and I'm rereading some of my faves.
Okay! Found two books today that I wanted to read. New ones! His Majesty's Mistake by Jane Porter - I just skimmed the reviews and it looks very good.
A Vow of Obligation by Lynne Graham.
I think I'm going to start with the Jane Porter.....
I just finished ....The Greek Tycoon's Convenient Mistress (Greek Tycoons) 1 weak*star.....not my cuppa tea!The Italian's Inexperienced Mistress (Ruthless) which was a great read.
As mentioned I am reading Jane Porters latest, His Majesty's Mistake.I see it's only scheduled for release in the US in June 2012!
BTW, this book is fantastic! I didn't want it to end.
And I love the cover of the book.

Nice cover indeed!
I like Jane Porter's books too!
I loved one of her series and will read something by her again soon!
I just finished The Mistress Wife by Lynne Graham which was pretty good.I love the cover of that book. The model sort of reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.
      I've just finished

by Lynne Graham. I actually liked it. Navarre became more likeable towards the end of the book. I don't like the fact that he said to the heroine "you were a good lay". Hello! Also, Navarre is French and some of the dialogue just wasn't believable. Would a Frenchman say: "Snap. I love you for your dignity and cool, ma petite"? I don't see it.
Anyway, no idea what to read next ...... bookshop here I come!
maybe this Frenchman was raised in HPlandia, so the cadence got lost in translation. We all know how to fake it to get laid.

      Just finished reading

..... I actually liked this one. I thought it was a nice spin to find out that the hero has loved her all along...even tho man that he is didn't express it. Yes, he had his reasons, but I'm a romantic at heart. Most of the time I really can't get into the books where the H realizes he is madly in love with the h in the last 5 pages. So far, I'm liking Penny Jordan...think I'm gonna try to find more.

by Miranda LeeI went and got a whole bunch of Penny Jordan's at the secondhand bookshop today. I've just skimmed them so far, but will get stuck in as soon as I'm finished with this one.

Not sure, Cassie. I just paged through a couple and I hope I'm not disappointed ....
I'm rereading
 by Lynne Graham. Love it!

      About to start

by Miranda Lee. Looking forward to it.Can anyone recommend some favourite Miranda Lee books?

I've read Not a Marrying Man (Harlequin Presents and The Playboy's Proposition (Australian Playboys) and really liked both of them.
Thanks you Tracie. I have Not A Marrying Man - very good.I'm rereading Million-Dollar Love-Child (for some or other reason it doesn't want to insert the link). I love this book! Yes, Luc could be an ass at times, but I loved the fact that Kimberley stood up to him. And the love scene ..... "fanning myself". It was hot!
It's a keeper.
      Woohoo! Very excited! Got
by Sharon Kendrick today. It's part of the whole The Santina Crowen series. There's also a Penny Jordan out.
I bought it today and went to sit in the coffee shop for 1 hour to read. I couldn't stop. A sheikh - a bit sh*tty and arrogant, but the heroine is not a pushover. Heroine becomes pregnant from the H, even though he used a condom, and then has to contact him to let him know.
These sheikh's should sue the condom manufacturers - really! The condoms are for ever breaking. Geez!
I am on a really bad run of HP's right now. I'm not sure if I just need a break, or I just picked some real losers.Any suggestions Ladies..I am on the verge of abandoning this new found hobby.

I think you might like Ruthless Billionaire, Inexperienced Mistress by Robyn Donald. This one is a true gem, I don't really like McDonald's other books, but this one was very sweet.
