What HQNs are you reading right now?
O, my goodness ladies, I've been away for a while. I got sucked in by Cherise Sinclair. Wow, hot! I read all her books and now I can't wait for her to write another one.Anyway, got two HP's today:
by Sarah Morgan, which has a delicious M&B cover.I also got
by Melanie Millburne.I've already started the Sarah Morgan.
Now, I just have to say that the M&B cover for Melanie Millburne's book is plain SCARY! That woman looks like she is anorexic! Also, the hair? She has an Egyptian sphinx look about her. And he looks extremely "cruel". Mmmm. Will report back.
Finished The Forbidden Ferrara and loved it! Really, really good and I didn't want it to end. The H is wonderful. Alpha, but not afraid to be vulnerable.
Loved that book too Aruana, and the hero was indeed wonderful, this was such a different book than ONCE A FERRARA WIFE!loved that one as well,so angsty.I really enjoy Sarah Morgan's writing, dhe can do real angst and funny books.
just finished

**** stars
***** 5 stars!!!
**** 4 stars
Currently reading The Pregnant Mistress but I think I am about to give up on the heroine..and I am only on page 40... ; - ) Why do authors think that if they put a heroine in a good job with a degree we will assume they are smart. It's how you act that determines if you are smart, not your degree. Sorry ladies, just venting.
Just finished
, which was really good! A fresh and very unusual plot, an amazing heroine and a sensitive but alpha hero. 5 stars.
Leona wrote: "Demetra, Strangers in the Desert, is one of my top favorite 5 hp's for all the reasons you give!"Lynn Raye Harris is becoming on of my favourite authors.
Is there any of her books in particular that you particularly liked and could recommend. Strangers in the Desert is the only one I have read by her.
Leona wrote: "Is there any of her books in particular that you particularly liked and could recommend. Strangers in the Desert is the only one I have read by her."No! That was my first and only, too. But I think that
is the sequel of
.
I've rated all the Lynn Raye Harris books I've read 4 or more stars. Two of my favorites are Behind the Palace Walls and The Devil's Heart.
Ladies, I need a recommend. I need a book where the heroine just gives shovels it right back to the hero....and makes him really grovel. Any suggestions. I think some of these guys are getting off a little too easy for my blood pressure. Any recommends?
Demetra wrote: "Just finished
which was a great read, almost classic. 5 stars."It truly is a wonderful read. I wanted to smack Reid a few times...but that's HP land.

Yeah! Especially in the first half.
Hi LadiesJust thought I'd come by and say "hi". I'm in a bit of an HP slump at the moment. I know I should expand my horizons and start reading some other authors, but I'm not enjoying them as I had hoped (Robyn Donald being one). I think I should just take a break.
The Dark side of Desire by Julia James had so much angst in it! Just made me tired. I haven't even started In Defiance of Duty by Caitlin Crews!
O, well ....... See you guys. I do read all your reviews though!
Aruana
Hi Aruana, I know what you mean about Julia James..she needs to lighten up! I rate most of my hp's..and my romances...hop in and look at my 5 stars. I also try to write a bit about them, cause I know my cuppa may not be someone else's. I know some of the other ladies do a great job also on reviews....so you might want to look at their 5 stars! Take care....hope you find a good one soon!

I think that you should try some HP's from the early 90's. They are pretty good with a lot of drama and conflict.

I don't know if the hero grovels a lot, but I loved Jane in
Mistress of the Groom. She was tough and she didn't let the hero get away with much. I think they were a good match, at any rate.

I find the classics books have a lot better angsty storylines. I'm tempted to do some rereading!
I took a small break from HP's to catch up on other reading. I just finished up with The Forbidden Ferrara which was only a 3 star read for me.
I just finished Girl Behind the Scandalous Reputation, and it's one of the best (if not the best) debut HPs I've ever read!
I just read Ruthlessly Bedded, Forcibly Wedded by Abby Green and it was a 5 star for me. I loved the book from the first couple of paragraphs. The angst is done really well in this book. I felt for the heroine before she even made an appearance.
Kate wrote: "I just finished Girl Behind the Scandalous Reputation, and it's one of the best (if not the best) debut HPs I've ever read!"Totally agreed with you on this book, will be keeping an eye out for ifor yhis author, very enjoyable read.

Lady Danielle aka The Book Huntress wrote: "Tracie, I love that book!"
It was the first book I read by her. I'm definitely going back to read some of her backlist.
I've just finished
by Lynn Raye Harris. Loved it!Interesting that this is the first time that there is a reference to the heroine masturbating .... and she's a virgin to boot! High time.
I give it a 5.

Tracie wrote: "I took a small break from HP's to catch up on other reading. I just finished up with The Forbidden Ferrara which was only a 3 star read for me."I just started reading that book! Im not one for secret baby stories, but for some reason the history behind the two interests me.
ok...I have been continuing down my path of reading the older HP's and they are sooooo good...Just finished and highly recommend the following
***** 5 stars!
***** 5 stars! and if I could have given it more I would have. I just love Michelle Reid
**** 4 stars. I have not read much by Carole Mortimer, but I find that I really like her. The only reason I gave it 4 stars, is I just could not get past the hero. But the book is spellbinding.
Those books are really good Leona, love MR and most od PW and CM books...the older books are soooo much better ..sighhhhhh
Leona you are reading some good ones! I loved all of those...yum yumthe older ones are just better (for me)!
I just finished Wild Fling or a Wedding Ring? by Mira Lyn Kelly. This is the 2nd book by her that I've read and I really liked both of them.
I'm reading A Royal World Apart by Maisey Yates. I'm not finding it in the database .....Great story. She rarely disappoints.

I finished
and wrote about our self-exploratory heroine in that book too. As you said, it's high time. Twenty-something virgins make more sense if they know what an orgasm is.

Leona, I will have to go check that Melanie Millburne again, BUT .........
I just finished
and o, my goodness, what is going on in the HP universe? This is the most graphic Mills & Boon I have read - ever! I was shocked I tell you, shocked .... but in a good way. Very brave of Lucy Monroe.
I sent Lynn Raye Harris a message on Facebook about Unnoticed and Untouched and she said "thank you" for the praise and it was about time it got mentioned.
Btw, my American HP friends, you guys really have to do something about Harlequin's terrible book covers - really!
I've started with
Looks very interesting.
O yes, check out the interesting book cover.
On my "to read" list I also have Lynne Graham's new one, The Secret She Carried and Maisey Yates' A Royal World Apart.
I enjoyed A ROYAL WORLD APART,THE SECRETS SHE CARRIED and TO LOVE HONOR AND BETRAY,all of these were either 4 or 5 star reads for me...next is DESERVING OF HIS DIAMONDS by MM which I hear is a tear jearker.........@Aruana,Lucy Monore writes some super sexy books, the ones she writes outside of HP's almost borders on erotic.
Vashti wrote: "I enjoyed A ROYAL WORLD APART,THE SECRETS SHE CARRIED and TO LOVE HONOR AND BETRAY,all of these were either 4 or 5 star reads for me...next is DESERVING OF HIS DIAMONDS by MM which I hear is a tear..."I'll have to check it out, Vashti! Thanks.
O, my goodness! Just read two incredible stories. I now know why Abby Green is my favourite author. The two books are In Christofides' Keeping and The Restless Billionaire. The emotional punch of these two books - wow. Off the charts.
Abby Green fleshes out her H/h to such an extent that you feel like you know them personally. She draws you in and the emotion she conveys is fantastic.
I absolutely loved these two books and I've still got to be disappointed by anything she writes. They are keepers!
Aruana
Just finished Annie West's The Billionaire's Bought Mistress. Fantastic!3 really good ones in a row. Let's hope I can keep it up.
Aruana
Aruana, sounds like you are on a roll. I think the Billionaire's Bought Mistress is titled Rafe's Redemption in the US.. It was a great read!I just bought LM's
..So looking forward to it!
I bought
yesterday and finished it as well.Loved it. I'm not reading this as a series though. I don't like all the authors.
Loved the H/h. Maisey Yates really fleshes out her characters. They have layers to them.
I've started
.Looks good.

I liked that one, too! I've read a couple of debut Harlequins from new authors recently, and they were all pretty good -- this one included.
