Those are some great books. Did you read Dreams of Joy by Lisa See. It is the sequel to Shanghai Girls. Also an excellent book.

I liked all of those books too, but haven't read Pope Joan yet. It is on my TBR pile.
I loved and have reread
(Mistress of the Revolution) by Catherine Delors.....absolutely entrancing. Fell in love with French Revolution books. Looking for new awesome books about it. Any suggestions?

Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian is one of the best books I've read in 2012. The plot involves three people who are fleeing from germany in 1945 to the West in an attempt not to be found by the Russian Army advancing.

A Northern Light
A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
All Quiet on the Western Front
One of my favorites of 2011 was Clara and Mr. Tiffany by Susan Vreeland.
For sheer fun and entertainment, I really enjoyed The Borgia Betrayal and Poison by Sara Poole.

How was Revolution? Have you read the Tea Rose trilogy? How does it compare to that?
Is there a way to pull up a "list" of the books we've reviewed on Goodreads to see exactly how many stars we've given however many books we have reviewed--or do we just have to go to our shelves and look? Thanks:)

Click on "details" from any year to easily see which books you gave however many stars to. Click "view books from (year)" to see it as a list which you can then sort by rating.

I loved The Tea Rose and gave it 5 stars. The next two books, The Winter Rose and The Wild Rose I gave 4 stars to. I thought Northern Light was OK - gave that 4 stars but now want to read An American Tragedy and see the film. I didn't, though, finish Revpolution. For some reason I didn't like that book at all.
