The scariest/most nerve racking moment I've ever had on holiday was In London. It was our second to last day before flying to Amsterdam, and we got up in the morning to see a crowed of people gathered around the TV in the foyer. A series of bombs had been found inside the Amsterdam airport, and they had not caught a suspect. Definitely made me feel safe flying to Amsterdam 40 hours later :S
Oh, and on our first night in Paris, we went for a walk to the Eiffel Tower, and there were police running all around shouting and putting up a mini-wall around the base of the tower; there were news reports and everything...Apparently there was a bomb threat on the Eiffel Tower. The most popular rumor I heard was that there actually was a bomb on/in the tower and they were trying to defuse it. I dont know if its true, but there were so many scared people :S
And every night on the news in Paris were reports of the English Prime Minister, US President, Australian Prime Minister giving warning to travelers to be safe and travel with extreme caution around landmarks. We were there in the hear of that giant terror scare on Europe late last year.
But it was still the best four weeks of my life :P

I can gurantee, if there was a bomb threat near me, I would be miles away. That had to of been nerve racking though.
I went to Israel once, and a bus that we had been in three hours ago got bombed. I was too young to be scared though. Nine/ten year olds don't really seem to worry about terrorism when in a new place. At least I didn't.
My brother tried to find the bus so he could find his notebook, but all he got was the charred remains of what had once been a book he wrote in. It was really weird. Luckily, no one was in the bus.
Anna wrote: "Way - That must have been terrifying! I can't even imagine."In retrospect, it was. But my parents didn't tell me til I got home. I'm just glad we got home.

I sure did.

I'd LOVE to go to any of those. Those three would be in my top 5 European countries I want to visit.

hah, yeah.

I'm extremely grateful to my parents. They are awesome.
Way- most definitely, and you shouldn't. I don't always get along with my mom and occasionally wish that she was different, but at the end of the day im grateful to have her AND my dad.Nat- but of course!
Sometimes I get annoyed with my parents and their rather strict, conservative ways, but at the end of the day, I really love them.
Mine are actually fairly.....non-strict. I don't know the right word for it though. Its just that sometimes they're TOO non-strict. I want some restrictions sometimes.
My parents are kind of relaxed about weird things and then strict about other random things. It is hard to explain.
Like, they don't tell me to go to bed really. At all. I usually just kind of live my life. But they tell me things they don't want me to read/watch. Or things that make them nervous. And I appreciate that (most of the time.) They just trust me about my own personal life and what I do.
My parents are kind of the same way, very lenient, but not irresponsible or careless. I'd be a fool and a liar to say "my parents don't care about me", because they do, but they completely respect me as an individual. Also, I don't pull stupid stunts like my older brothers, so I am looked at as the most mature out of my 2 brothers and myself.
I have a suggested bed time, but I'm not restricted on what I can read- if I feel passionately about only one thing in the world, it would have to be how opposed I am to censoring the books you can and can't read.
Ok, this kinda sounds more like me. Not really a bedtime, except fo the younger one, but I can read, and mostly, watch whatever I want. Mostly on the watchin
I think it depends on age a little too. I'm 16, so my parents almost treat me like an adult. I don't know how old you all are, but parents tend to be more strict about what you watch/read when you are a bit younger.
I'm fourteen, well, fifteen in a month and a few days. I'm mostly treated as an adult, because I'm considered extremely mature (I'm not sure how much I deserve the title though...)
Well, I'm only fifteen (for about a month now), but my parents have never REALLY ever restricted me. Mostly just on TV shows and I completely understand why they said no to those shows. They weren't right for me. But my parents have NEVER restricted me on what I've read. The only time that I SORT OF was restricted but not really was when I was told by my mom that I HAD to read one of the Ramona books and then be quizzed on some of it later by my mom/Grandma and that was only to be sure that I was actually reading and not pretending to.

Yeah, my parents are a lot less strict with my brother. For instance, I wasn't allowed to have a phone until 7th grade, and my brother got one in the summer before 5th grade.
My younger sister got a phone in 6th grade, but that's because if we had waited to get her one, she wouldn't have been able to be on the family plan.
