Nominations are officially closed. The poll will be up within the hour, both on our home page and in the polls link on the right side of the group page. There will also be a link to the poll from the first post in this thread.
It ends on sunday. Last month it ended on a tie so I had to do a second poll, so I'm trying to save time just in case.
I'm sorry Aroma! I thought you meant for voting. Nominations are already in and the poll is already up. That does look really good! I'm going to try to remember that one for the next time we get Historical Fiction.
oh, I see....forgive my ignorance, for this is my first month in joining a group read....Q: Where is the final list of books that we could vote for?
It's my fault. I thought you were asking when the voting poll ended. If you go to the first post in this thread there's a link to the poll. Or if you go to our homepage then you can scroll all the way down and you'll find it there.
I'm so excited for another group read in June :) These are so much fun, Thanks Wendy and Stacia for putting it all together.
For those of you who haven't seen the poll since voting ended! Our June Group read will bee....Outlander!!!
Such an amazing wonderful book. I can't wait til the discussion starts.
Well, I've read it already but I'd like to hear what you guys have to say as it will remind me of the story.I'm listening #5 in the series now after 3 year hiatus and I've forgotten some things, LOL!
I love this book. It's a long time since I read it, so I am looking forward to reading it again. In the UK it is called Cross Stitch. Jamie is one of my favourite heroes of all the books I've read.
I'll be reading number 4 in the series while the group is reading number 1. Figure it would be a good time to continue on with the series finally.
I've had this one for a while, but haven't started it yet. I'm looking forward to reading this book. Everyone that has read it seems to love it.
Ottilie, will you be able to join us for the read?I have known a few people who've read it and didnt like it. But that would be the minority. I'd say most of the time, people who've read it enjoy it.
Just any time in June. There's no specific date to start it. Just bear in mind that it's about 800 pages long, lol. And that the Outlander thread will containe spoilers, because we'll all be talking about it.
ok...I have never read this because it intimidates me cause of its size?!?! Is it a pretty easy read though?
Easy in what way, Elke? The story is fascinating but there are some VERY rough scenes. The historical backdrop is painted in an amazing way so you really feel like you're there with them.
I agree with D.G. It's not light, but it's definitely worth it.I've read very few books where the characters feel as real as they do in Outlander.

I know!
Have you read them all, Wendy?
Today I listened to the part where Jamie gave Claire the flowers and I almost cried!
I have read them all! Except Echo, I've read them all multiple times. They are the cream of the crop, in my opinion. They have the best of everything.I love that scene when he gives her the 'posy', not realizing that it's not what he thinks it is. So sweet! I love that man.
I know! He was sooooo cute. :)I've been putting listening to this one for a few years (because of the length) and then when I started, I was like...why did I wait so long? :)
Elke wrote: "ok...I have never read this because it intimidates me cause of its size?!?! Is it a pretty easy read though?"It didn't take me a long time to read it because I was so engrossed in the story.
I have read all the Outlander Series Books and it's my favorite series. I would not call them 'light' but they are a wonderful mix of romance, history and personal struggle. We will not lack for stuff to talk about. I understand about the size but as you read these books you will wish they were twice as big. Can't wait to chat with you ladies :)
Enjoy ! I have to admit that this one doesn't appeal to me so I won't join this group read. There are so many books that I really really want to read during my holiday in June that I'm going to be picky :D .
That is completely understandable. I've been doing the same thing with The Bronze Horseman.I've actually read OUtlander so many times that I won't reread this time around. I will absolutely be discussing it though.
Anyone who knows me from the Outlander group knows I can go on and on about this series, haha.
I'm planning to listen to the TBH but it's not available in my library and I haven't gone back to Audible yet.
