i absolutely loved Marked! i thought that it was a great start to what was going to be an epic series. i'm seven books into the series, and i have to say that most of the books are really good, but sadly they start to get a little worse. i still really enjoy the series though

Overall the series was quite good but can get a bit boring.

Well, now I have only read the first book. I will definitely read the second one. I hope its not worse than Marked.
I'm so stupid. For like a month now I kept getting P.C. Cast confused with L.J. Smith, and for some reason, it only clicked in my head this morning that they were two different people. I think it's so weird that I thought that for so long.
Haha! I'm glad that I'm not the only one that used to get them confused. I used to get them confused all of the time :)

I like the series too. One thing that I really like about it is that the authors try to make their own kind of vampire (or vampyre), and also how the characters in the book always show how different they are from the stereotypical vampires with fangs and stuff.

That easy question to answer, I recall reading an interview a few years back that answered that question. If my memory recollection is correct P. C. Cast writes the books and her daughter pretty much edits them and adds to the story line. It goes back and forth between the two but P.C. Cast has the final say.
The series is great. I would suggest as a group we start with the first book and read one monthly until the series is current.
You will like it if you like Vampire Academy series.

It is great! I hated that it ended. Yet I am glad that there will be a spin off series with some of the other characters and everyone will have cameo throughout. What book are you on?

right now, im reading awakened, series is getting better and better.i love VA too :)

The whole anti-Christian did start to annoy me more as the series progressed. I kept thinking/shouting to the book, "Not every single Christian is like your step-loser!"
I think the reason why this series has more sexual encounters present than other YA books is because the Casts wanted to make it more realistic and just point out that there are some (not all) teenagers that are sexually active even when turning into a vamp.

I just finished Marked today. I completely agree that it did make it more realistic. And honestly it was only that one girl. The only one that was like that was Aphrodite. I didn't feel like it was overdone. I don't feel like it's only one slut in high school lol there's a bunch. I'd say at least 25%. I dunno, but it just sucked that Aphrodite played that role.

Personally, I actually liked the first book Marked. It was interesting and a new way to become a Vampire, and the whole magik part thrown into it was cool. Zoey is the most powerful vampire in the world... yeah Zoey.

I loved Marked! I'm on the 3rd book now (:

I am definitely interested in seeing how P.C. Cast combines her ideas with her daughter's. I have no clue about the series only that it has vampires in it, but I'll get right on it. I actually went to Barnes and Noble today and got it. Normally I go in the middle of the month, but now I can start it right away.
What do you guys think about the first book in the series?
