I loved Shadow Kissed! It's definately between that and Spirit Bound. However, I DID NOT like Last Sacrifice because of what Rose did to Adrian.
I like Spirit Bound because Rose gives Adrian a chance and I got to read about him more. :) And I liked the drama between Rose and the evil Dimitri when he's tracking her down. Its amazing everything that she went through for him.
I loved them all but I'm going to say Last Sacrifice. It finished the story and had me surprised throughout the entire book (Half sister!?, Secret Vamps in the forest). Also Rose finally gets to be happy with Dimitri.
I've only read the first (although I have them all in my library) and am building up the courage to continue on.
Oh my goodness!! Richelle mead is making a spin off series and it's called Bloodline! Sydney is the main character and I think her and Adrian are going to fall in love! Yay!
I liked Blood promise cuz Dimitri was a really cool bad guy, but I loved allll of the vampire academy books. I also like shadow kissed and the other ones..Ah i can't pick! I loved all of them :)
i agree on that richelle mead should have continued the the series(:
Vampires are overrated! I mean really, who here thinks it sounds a little bit like a certain wizard school?
I'm here to get everyone out of their creepy vampire obsessions. What was the last book you read that wasn't vampire related?
I feel like Mead did a better job ending Vampire Academy then Suzanne Collins did ending The Hunger Games series.
True! I hated the whole book of Mocking Jay! Suzanne Collins even made it seem like Peeta and Katniss weren't even happy together at the end!
yeah, I don't read ALL vampire books but some of them are worth the read. I just read a really good one by Parker Blue called Bite Me and its not centered on just vampires but demons mainly. The main character has attitude like Rose but not as bad-ass but close. But I haven't found a vampire YA series better than VA. :)
I feel like demons and vampires are way too dark. It's just kind of disturbing sometimes then you've got these little 7 year olds (not even kidding. My little neighbor has read these) read these books and get the wrong ideas and are scarred for the rest of their lives.

Chicagoland Vampires also has a kick-ass heroine and snarky humor, but I agree--the Vampire Academy series is still the best one.
Stormy wrote: "I haven't read Fang Me yet. Is it any good?"YES. Everything gets even better, the action, the powers, the boy-kissing. ;) She's doing a fourth one too, but it won't be out until next year.
I like vampire books. I'm not obsessed with vampire books but some of them are really good books. I don't see what's wrong with vampire books. I LOVE the VA Series :)
Natalie wrote: "I'm here to get everyone out of their creepy vampire obsessions. What was the last book you read that wasn't vampire related?"Most of them. I read a lot of adult and other genres.
Mead is an excellent author, capable of writing books with a great story arc. Her other (non-vampire) series are just as good as VA.
Plus, you can't compare VA to HoN or Twilight or any of those other series. VA has a lot more depth and much stronger (less angsty) characters.
Back to the original question. Book 4 was my favorite because I loved primal Dimitri. I wanted him to throw Rose over his shoulder and take her to pleasuretown. :p

ha ha! Me too.
Natalie wrote: "I'm here to get everyone out of their creepy vampire obsessions. What was the last book you read that wasn't vampire related?"evermore, glass trilogy, the giver, hunger games.... so far that's all i can remember.
Emily wrote: "I feel like Mead did a better job ending Vampire Academy then Suzanne Collins did ending The Hunger Games series."I would agree with this. The Hunger Game series was great, I couldnt wait until Mockingjay came out, but was very disappointed with it. It was very rushed, and she kind of ditched the best friend at the end. I would never do that to a best friend.
Skye wrote: "TEAM ADRIAN!!!!!"I know right!!! I cant just pick one. I have two. Book three Frost bite. This is the one where Rose and Dimitri finally give into one another, lots of actions, and unfortunately the "death" of Dimitri.
But I also like the Last Sacrifice as well, where they rekindle everything they were trying to deny.
HOWEVER!!!! I didnt like her ditching poor sweet Adrian. He was just shit on at the end, and I felt it REALLY unnecessary. He was strong for everyone he loved throughout the entire series and for him to just get left in the dirt was ludicrous.
i loved Last Sacrifice, mainly because it cleared up A LOT of things. although i did absolutely hate what rose did to adrian :(. i mean all adrian did was love rose with all his heart, he gave up smoking and drinking, and tried to be a better person so he could win her heart. and all she did was string him along. i dont really think that she ever loved adrian, she was just using him to forget about dimitri. knowing that adrian was heart broken, so totally broke my heart... TEAM ADRIAN ALL THE WAY!! !
Yeah, Adrian was a little charmer.:) That's what I love about him.But Rose didn't want to go out with him with her feelings for Dimitri there but she did owe him a chance and that's what he wanted and what he got. I think he knew all along that he would end up brokenhearted but you just can't help falling in love with someone your attracted to as much as he was to Rose. I guess this is what they mean by Be Careful What You Wish For. He needs a relationship that just happens and doesn't have to be forced.
yeah, that is true. i hope that in Bloodlines he finds someone who he loves, and who truly loves him back.
I could not finish the series after Dimitri got turned Strigoli i was too heart broken but I'm thinking about finishing it. I hope Rose has a happy ending.
I loved them all but I haven't read the last book. As much as I loved Dimitri I really wanted her to end up with Adrian and I had a feeling that I was going to be diaappointed in the final book, which it sounds like my suspicions are correct from comments above. I know I'll end up reading it but not as enthused now.
